Barn in St Nicholas Nr Fishguard, Pembrokeshire, Wales - Peaceful Location, A Short Walk To The Beach

Treseissyllt Hafod is a wonderful house in a peaceful setting in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. It lies between Strumble Head and Tregwynt near the beaches of Aberbach and Abermawr. A private track leads down to the sea and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path National Trail, making Hafod a perfect base for both family and walking holidays. The farm has been in the family for 60 years and its stables have been superbly converted retaining many of the original features. It is exceptionally light, with views towards Strumble Head, spacious and comfortably furnished and has excellent drying facilities. Parking is directly in front of the house and an extensive lawn leads out to fields.

About Fiona Buchan

My family have owned Treseissyllt for nearly 60 years and used to farm there. We converted the old stables in 2004 into a very comfortable house which has been enjoyed by us, our children and many people since. We are obviously rather biased but we think that the Pembrokeshire coast is one of the most lovely and unspoilt parts of Britain.

We live in Wiltshire and are happy to give you personal recommendations for the area.

Super space, stylish fitting, equipped brilliantly

Stayed for a week with two families. 7 of us never felt cramped and we enjoyed having people over. Ample kitchen supplies and equipment (rangemaster) to properly cook 'home from home'. The photos do not show how big the space is inside and the mezzanine sitting room space is large and relaxing. Separate utility room and drying space great for wetsuits etc. Weber barbeque fab. The nearby walkable beaches(good 15 mins) are remote and never crowded - pebbles and sand mix - some surf - swell / wind conditions depending. Fishguard music festival a good bonus. Our kids 4-9yrs mix could play safely and visibly in the large garden. Thoroughly recommend. Tesco online delivers too.

home from home

Two families visited four adults and four children aged seven to thirteen . The barn is a haven ! It's clean,convenient and spacious . The gardens and surrounding area is beautiful . A real central location for all to explore being walking or driving . It's on a farm where the children loved seeing the sheep or horses or just being able to play with Della the dog. The walk to the beach was stunning and well worth a visit at dusk to witness the sunset something our children wanted to do most nights !

Would thoroughly recommend this place a revisit from our family is a must .

A superbly located, well equipped, characterful property. The beach down the lane is well worth the 20 minute walk. Excellent for proximity to Newgale beach which became our favourite and would recommend visits to SOlva, St David's, Fishguard and many others beautiful locations. If you have a head for heights visit Whitesands Beach and if you have a dog take the coastal path to the neighbouring beach, it's small, secluded and very lovely. The boat trip to Ramsey Islands to see seals, puffins and porpoise are also well worth it. We took our dog on the Sheerwater trip and they were very happy to accommodate. The surf centre right on the beach at Newgale are very helpful and reasonable and can supply all the kit you need. If you go when the tide is out there are two fantastic beaches to visit for rock-pooling. The barn itself was charming, lovely fresh smelling linen and we were very impressed with the well stocked and spacious kitchen, characterful rooms and the bonus of a washing machine and dryer meant with a family of five we returned home with cases of clean clothes for a change! A super house, a lot of thought has gone into this property and what is provided. Would thoroughly recommend.
