Penthouse Apartment in La Manga Club, Costa Calida, Spain - Central Location, Walking Distance To Bars, Restaurants, Shops, Tennis Courts, Oasis Pool

Set on a small, quiet hillside, the property is spacious and has 4 terraces, 3 overlooking the swimming pool and gardens, 1 at the top overlooking the Mar Menor. There is a brick built BBQ, chairs, tables and 2 sun loungers. Large communal swimming pool with children's paddling pool, set amongst landscaped gardens and palm trees.

There are 2 en-suite bedrooms, 1 downstairs and 1 upstairs and there are 2 camp beds available for use, so that 6 people can sleep comfortably. There is a lounge/dining room, kitchen/utility and another toilet/walk in shower room downstairs.

We are Andrea and David and have two teenage sons, now 18 and 15 years old. We have owned our apartment for 14 years and have been coming out to La Manga Club every year since. We had only holidayed on the Club a couple of times before we decided to buy on La Hacienda as we had enjoyed such fantastic family holidays there and felt we would come back time and time again.

La Hacienda

La Hacienda is very central on La Manga Club, which makes shops, bars and restaurants very accessible. Large choice of restaurants serving excellent food, from traditional tapas, pizza or fine dining. La Finca is a must and we did actually see some famous faces in there!

The accommodation is excellent and feels home from home, with sky television. If you wish to eat in the kitchen is well equipped.

I would, without a doubt, recommend this property to friends and family. If you are looking for a relaxing break La Hacienda pool area is beautiful and never too busy. My children however did not want to just sit but did enjoy swimming in the pool, playing tennis, golf at the par 47 and joining in the football lessons.

We most definitely plan to visit again as it suited the whole family.

Lyme Regis

Holiday with 14 year old grandson + mate

The accomodation was excellent as described, a home from home. Despite lateness in season, the pool was just warm enough to swim in.

The tennis was quite expensive, so didn't do as much as they would have liked, but facilities were impressive.

We hired bicyles over 24 hour period, so got 2 days ride out of it, pm first day and am the next. Great fun too.

When returning hire car to airport. please note that there is no obvious fuel station near the airport to leave a full tank as requested by car hire firm.

On the whole, very enjoyable for all of us, many thanks.

Just a quick note to say thanks for the use of your lovely apartment, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The apartment had everything we needed and was in a great location on the resort. The weather was perfect and we more or less had the pool to ourselves for the whole stay.

Hopefully we'll return one day soon.

Relaxing and enjoyable

Our family (adults plus boys aged 10 and 13) stayed for a week in Feb 2014 and wanted a relaxing break but with things to do. The apartment and location were as described and we particularly liked the fact that the apartment was only a short walk from the main sports centre, shops and restaurants yet is set in a secluded community setting so feels private, safe and quiet.

The pool is a decent size for splashing around with the kids and is set in nice landscaped gardens only overlooked by other apartments in La Hacienda. The apartment was plenty big enough for the four of us and has four(!) terraces. We used two - one overlooking the pool and the one at the front facing the sea which has the BBQ. The kitchen and washing facilities etc were more than adequate and the apartment was spotless.

We did not venture off the resort during our stay but hired bikes one day to tour the resport and spent the rest of the time by the pool or playing tennis or crazy golf in the sports centre, although there was much more on offer. Our youngest used the kid's club a couple of times and really enjoyed it.

We tried several different places to eat including a couple of the tapas bars, the pizza restaurant, diner (Uncle Sam's) and pub (Mulligan's). All were fine although the kids struggled to find something they liked in La Bodega (it being perhaps too traditional even for them). The supermarket was an easy walk from the apartment and provided a decent range of provisions.

We didn't hire a car (or need to - we weren't looking to discover 'real' Spain or go sightseeing). We flew in to Murcia and it was a 25 min taxi ride to the resort. The resort itself has the feel of a small town (with various shops, restaurants etc) but is gated so also feels completely safe.

Overall we had a great time and would highly recommend the resort and the apartment.

We bought the property because it is in a prime location on the Club and close to all amenities. It's very safe and although it's central it's peaceful and tranquil too. Perfect for a relaxing holiday! Both of our sons learnt to swim in the pool at La Hacienda and have made lots of friends who they continue to see each year. It is very safe for them to walk to the shops, spend time with their friends and play sport. La Manga has 24 hour security and is a gated community too.

Nearest Airport : San Javier, Murcia at 34 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : The Last Drop at 500 Kilometres Nearest Golf : South, North, West Courses at 1 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : La Finca at 800 Metres Nearest Beach : La Cala at 1 Kilometres Car: not necessary


La Cala, private beach on La Manga Club is a rocky/stoney beach cove with an excellent bar/restaurant. Car required to get to it, 5 mins drive.

There are many sandy beaches nearby with warm crystal clear water and beach bars/restaurants. Nearest beach Mar de Crystal or Portman, ten minutes maximum drive.


The nearest airport for La Manga Club is Murcia San Javier Airport, a 20 minute drive. Alicante airport is an hour's drive.

Car hire is not essential on the Club as all restaurants, bars and shops are walking distance from the apartment. Taxis are available from the airport and should not cost more than €50 one way. Taxi's and car hire are available on the Club too.

If you would like to sample the local cuisine and see more of Spain, car hire is available at the airport.


Places of interest include the city of Murcia (forty minutes drive), Port of Cartagena with its Roman amphitheatre (20 minute drive), Fishing town of Cabo de Palos (ten minute drive) and the small village of Los Belones next to La Manga Club. Los Belones has a variety of restaurants and a few shops including a good English butcher for shopping for your BBQ food! Los Belones and Cabo de Palos have also have markets on a Sunday.

Further Details:

There are 2 good supermarkets nearby, 3 boutiques, shops, as well as bars, over 16 restaurants and a hotel with a superb restaurant overlooking the golf course. It also has a piano bar with entertainment each night. If you have your children with you, the Si Bar (very close by) has entertainment for the children every evening and live bands for the adults at least three times a week. There are a couple of good shopping centres nearby, Don Mares (near the airport) and Place de Mediteraneo (near Cartagena). Spa on Los Lomas with indoor swimming pool and beauty treatments.

It is one of the most popular family friendly communities on the Club within minutes walk of all amenities. Bike hire, water sports and scuba diving at Los Lomas. Outside: Large communal swimming pool with Children's paddling section, landscaped gardens. Sunbeds for use round the pool with sunshades.
