Upstairs are 2 interconnecting bedrooms one with a kingsize bed and the other with 2 single beds. There is a downstairs bathroom with power shower and bath. In the sitting room there is a wood burning stove , well equipped kitchen with electric oven hob and microwave. Fridge with ice box. About the Owner

I have moved from South Africa to the lovely county of Dorset with it's beautiful coastline and wonderful walks. I enjoy kayaking, cycling, playing tennis and walking with my dog,I prefer a friendly village life to suburban lifestyle. However, with Wool station nearby and a 2hr30min train journey to Waterloo I can still keep in touch with city life when needed.

Lovely property cosy and comfortable.

  • 4 of 5

Myself and 2 dogs had a lovely short break in this spotless, well maintained property close to coast and countryside. The secure garden is particularly good for dogs as are the many walking opportunities nearby. The stairs are steep but perfectly manageable for the fit and able. Would not recommend for anyone with stability issues. Everyone else will love it.

P.S. The T.V. is very small to fit the overall proportions of the property but not really any good for watching rugby. Had to go to the pub. Not sure this could be resolved without spoiling proportions? Louise was very helpful yet unobtrusive.

Greg.

Beautiful Dorset cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely break, Patch cottage was perfect for our family & our dog. It was a great base to explore Dorset. The village itself is lovely with the post office selling everyday groceries. We walked to the Sailors return pub (about half an hour), which is a lovely pub, they were fully booked though (we did go back for lunch another day) so we recommend booking in advance. We had a lovely meal in the castle too. The cottage has everything you need & the interconnecting rooms upstairs perfect for a family. The cottage was very clean, comfortable, well decorated & homely. The garden is lovely, the dog loved his morning walk out there! Highly recommend the cottage & the surrounding area. We walked lulworth cove - durdle door, visited Swanage. Went to West Bay & walked lots. Perfect break 10/10. Thank you

The perfect long weekend in glorious surroundings

  • 5 of 5

Thank you, Louise, for a wonderful stay at Patch Cottage, which was so cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean, and excellently equipped, right down to the delicious bread and honey you kindly left for us. We loved the friendly village (particularly the excellent village stores), the Sailor's Return pub just a mile away and all the wonderful walks. It was the perfect stay for a special birthday and we'd love to return.

A wonderful Dorset Cob Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Spent a lovely week in Patch Cottage which is a charming place with a lot of character. Louise the owner has spent a lot of thought in the decor and the little extras you don't usually find but really appreciate when you need them. Insect bites for one, didn't expect a first aid kit with TCP. The variety of different tea's and coffee was another. The surrounding area is wonderful to walk and we spent the week doing so and walked 100 miles of coast and inland footpaths. We will most certainly come back.

Charming cottage well located for exploring the Dorset coast.

  • 5 of 5

Louise has thought of everything one might need from a holiday let and added many of her own thoughtful touches. Bread, fresh eggs, local cheddar and honey in a basket on arrival were a very welcome surprise. The garden is fantastic and gets sun very late into the evening, the cottage clean and characterful. Our daughter is three and a half and managed the steep stairs but there is a stair gate at the top and a door at the bottom which means the stairs can be closed off to avoid any worries on that score. The house is very well placed for exploring the coast. Weymouth is 15 minutes away and perfect for children.
