Bungalow in Doohoma, Mayo, Ireland - Beautiful Setting With Stunning Scenery, 2 Beaches, Golf Course And Pub All Within Walking Distance

Doohoma is situated in the far west of Ireland. Offering stunning scenery the property looks out onto the Atlantic Ocean and Achill Island. The property is ideally situated for walking, fishing, and golf. The local hotel and public house is approximately 350 mts from the property and it is 250 mts to the 18 hole Par 3 links golf course. Membership of this course is included in the cost of rental and is unlimited. Knock is the main airport with its own on site care hire facility. The town of Belmullet is 16 miles and offers bars, shops, restaurants, a bank and ten pin bowling. Carne Golf Course is located just outside Belmullet and now has 2 18 hole links championship courses. Lots of walking and sight seeing to be done or just relax in Doohoma away from the hussle of working life.

As we have family in the area we visited Doohoma usually once or twice a year. When the opportunity came up for us to build our own property we did that was 8 years ago. This is very much a family home not a show home

A large, modern and lovely bungalow with beautiful views of Achill island and surroundings. Very reasonably priced. The house has plenty of rooms for a small group of people or even 2 families. Very well equipped with big kitchen and dining area. We spent a weekend there and enjoyed the wonderful hospitality of the local pub The Sea Rod inn. Great access to beaches on the Belmullet peninsula and a great spot for getting away from it all. There's even a pitch and putt down the road for a spot of golf.

This is the ideal get away from it all location, whether it be sitting relaxing, going for walks on the beach or sight seeing. There are lots of beaches the nearest being about 200 metres away and usually there is no one on there. Pull on a pair of wellies and children, dogs can run for miles enjoying the sea.

There are 2 beaches within walking distance, sandy beach known locally as the banks and the rocky beach known locally as the shore which is brilliant for rock pools


Knock Airport is the nearest airport car hire is essential. The car hire centre is actually on the airport site right next to the arrivals/departures. The nearest port is on the east coast either Dublin Port or Dun Laoghaire both being serviced by Irish Ferries or Stena travel time from ports to the property is approx 5 hours


When you are driving from the airport you will come through lots of smaller traditional villages Foxford being one with great history about the wool industry having its own dedicated visitors centre
