Mr Ralphs Cottage and Drake Cottage have their own doggy safe garden which will keep in even the smallest of dogs. A waist high doggy washing bath with a warm shower is available for all doggies. The Coach House does not accept pets and has comfy rattan seating in the sunny courtyard. We have known people to go home with a tan in March!. As we only take children of 13 years and over the environment is very calming and 2 people have told us tht they have not had to take sleeping tablets during their stay with us. People have commented that when you are in our little haven it feels like it is giving you a big comforting hug, but you can judge that for yourself! That is one of the things that we noticed when we bought the property but it is nice that other people have felt it too. We opened in 2014 and have already had guests returning again and again. A complimentary bottle of wine is left for each stay. From January 2017 we shall be able to take cards over the telephone.

About the Owner
About Julie Milnes
My husband who is a retired bank manager and myself purchased the property and have put our heart and soul into creating 3 beautiful cottages, of which 2 are doggy friendly, all in an idyllic setting. We are offering luxury accommodation for guests who would like a peaceful setting in beautiful surroundings. Our friends thought that we were mad to take on such a large building development and after a while, when the builder had told us that he didn't think anyone would have taken it on unless they were a builder, we began to think our friends were right but it seemed a good idea at the time! We were very naive but we soon learned how to project manage a development of this size and quickly understood that there was a lot of stress and sleepless nights involved. Because I had a romantic vision of how my little hamlet should look and nothing else would do, the budget, as you see on TV programmes was blown out of the water but second best simply would not do in my mind. I hope you will be impressed with the results.

Why Julie Milnes chose Yorkshire Moors and Coast
Great location!!!!!The setting is peaceful and feels like you are away from it all, yet you are handy for Whitby (4 miles). Cottage is very cosy and well equipped. Everything we needed and the hosts are very welcoming.
Ideal location for visiting the many sites and attractions in the area.
An excellent place to stay
This is a lovely, cosy but roomy cottage for two people. The standard of decor and furniture was superb and it is clean and maintained impeccably. It is quirky with lots of character and excellent modernisations.
The owners were helpful and friendly and we had a really good holiday. An excellent location too, for exploring North Yorkshire, the moors and coast.
Lovely home from home
The coach house was very comfortable and well appointed. Everything was spotlessly clean on arrival. The cottage was well equipped with nice furniture, a large and comfortable bed and a lovely shower. Julie and Robert were very welcoming and friendly. The location is easy to find and convenient for visiting both for the coast and the moors. We shopped at the excellent bakery in the village several times. Whitby was quick and easy to get to and we ate out there a couple of evenings. We would stay here again without reservation.
Everything was just lovely and Robert and Julie so welcoming. An excellent base in a quiet location to explore the North Yorkshire countryside. The Coach House is well equipped for a self catering stay and we enjoyed being able to sit out in the courtyard.
Luxurious Sleights cottage
We had a lovely stay in the Coach House which was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The cottage is ideally placed for visiting the coast and the Yorkshire Moors. Thank you Robert and Julie for a lovely holiday.

Five star for dogs as well as humans
The Coach House is a beautifully restored and furnished cottage, every attention to detail was met. We loved the decor, the bed, the large leather sofa in the upstairs sitting room in fact everything was perfect. There was even a bath outside complete with ramp (and hot and cold water) for dogs to be washed - and our's needed it after wading through copious mud at Falling Foss!
The owners Julie and Robert live in the farmhouse next door and were very helpful especially when we had an unexpected funeral to attend nearby at the end of our stay.
Thank you so much, we look forward to returning in the Autumn.
