Apartment in Falmouth, Cornwall, England - Within 10/15 Minutes Walk To Beaches, Harbour, Shops And Restaurants

Melvill Court is a modern, very well equipped Penthouse Apartment with stunning sea view. Most of our bookings are repeat guests.


The apartments at Melvill Court, which are in a garden setting, are approached through double gates. Our apartment is on the top floor, hence you have fabulous sea views from the balcony, which has a table and chairs for 4.

Within the grounds we have our own private car parking space.

You enter on the ground floor through a locked door. You can then take the lift to the third floor or take the stairs. Once you enter our apartment there is one flight of stairs leading up to an area for coats and shoes. The apartment is then on one level apart from one step to the lounge area.

Sorry but not suitable for young children.

This is a non smoking apartment.

Our change over day is a Friday.

About The Owner

We have holidayed in Cornwall for over 30 year, but about 15 years ago we decided to make Falmouth our main holiday destination and bought our lovely apartment at Melvill Court. Our 3 boys are just about grown up now but we all still enjoy regular trips down to Falmouth because it has so much to offer all ages and at all times of the year. We started letting our apartment to a select few when we weren't using it and now we have 2 apartment that we let out. Holidays are very important to me, you wont get a more fussy holiday maker than me, so be assured I strive to get it just right for our guests.

Why The Owner chose Falmouth

Location! You can walk to the beach, restaurants, shops and harbour. There's plenty to do in Falmouth to keep the whole family happy, and as our boys have got older they have been able to do their own thing during the day and we all meet up in the evening.

Notes on accommodation: UNLIMITED WiFI The central heating and hot water is supplies by a gas boiler, which you can control yourself. Outside: The apartments at Melvill Court are set within a very well maintained garden setting. Off the lounge there's a sheltered balcony on which there is a table and chairs so you can enjoy the sea view. All bed linen, bath mats and tea towels are provided. Kym who has been looking after the apartment for the last 10 years takes pride in ensuring it's cleaned thoroughly before you arrive, and changes bedding weekly.

The property was modern and very well equipped and provided everything we needed. A secure parking place is a valuable asset for the property. Good access to the town and beaches. Good comms from Debbie and keys sent in good time....would thoroughly recommend this property.

Perfect apartment in fabulous setting.

The apartment was exactly as listed but the photos do not do it justice, it is very spacious and light.

The grounds are beautiful.

The apartment was immaculate, there was only one issue which I emailed Debbie about and she responded very quickly. The kitchen has every possible utensil, pot and pan you could every want, not that we did any cooking, but if you do everything is there.

You can see for miles from the balcony, a lovely setting for a leisurely breakfast or for sitting with a glass of wine whilst reading.

This was our first visit to Falmouth and we are already thinking about returning next year for 2 weeks, we will be re-booking this apartment.

There are two beaches within a short walk of the apartment and both are beautiful, just wish we'd had the weather to spend more time on them.

The location of the apartment is ideal, away from the hustle and bustle but not that far out you need to drive, you could park your car and not use it again until it was time to leave.

There was a large selection of DVDs and games in the apartment, great for a takeaway and bottle of wine night in.

I would recommend this apartment to anyone staying in Falmouth, I could not fault it.

Wonderful place

we had a wonderful vacation at this apartment. Very clean, spacious, the bedrooms, beds where very comfortable, very quiet also during the night. If you want to cook, the kitchen is a dream, has everything. We used only the washing machine, as we went out for dinner. The location is great, walking distance to the beach, about 5-7 minutes to the Gylly Beach Cafe and from there one can walk into town, or to the castle on a nice promenade. Or from the apartment to the other side and you are in town, about 7-10 minutes walk. Everything like Pubs, restaurants are in walking distance. Also its a nice spot if you want to visit St. Michael, Land’s End, St. Ives, Minack Theater etc. all around 40 minutes drive. It’s easy to drive in and out of the town from the apartment. We can really recommend it.

Comfortable Penthouse Apartment

The apartment is spacious, modern and delightfully bright. It is in a good location, being far enough away from the hubbub of the town centre whilst still being within easy walking distance of the town and beaches. It has all the facilities you could wish for, right down to fresh milk in the fridge!

The property is maintained to a very high standard and is scrupulously clean throughout. The owner is friendly and the booking process is very straightforward. I would certainly recommend this property to friends or relatives.

Gyllyngvase beach and Gylly beach cafe
Car: not necessary

So many places are easily accessible either by foot, ferry, train or bus. It’s not necessary to use the car. The closest beach is Gyllyngvase with its blue flag status and exceptionally popular Gylly café. Follow the coastal path on to Swanpool beach or beyond to Maenporth beach. Both beaches have a café and a well rated restaurant. Head in the opposite direction and you pass Castle beach on your way to Pendennis castle.

Around the town and harbour you’ll find interesting shops, galleries and numerous restaurants. Falmouth is also home to Cornwall’s National Maritime museum.

You can walk (or drive) to the harbour and take a ferry to places like Truro, St Mawes or Flushing. From Flushing you can take a beautiful scenic walk to Mylor. So many places to explore!

You can take the train to Truro for some great shopping and sightseeing.

The lovely gardens at Glendurgan and Trebah are only a 15 minute drive away, and usually when you visit Trebah your ticket allows you entry for the whole week-my family’s favourite garden.

Then of course Falmouth is well positioned for exploring the rest of Cornwall.

To comply with fire safety regulations smoking is not allowed in the apartment. Sorry no pet and the apartment isn't suitable for young children.
A 25% deposit is required to secure the booking and the balance is due 6 weeks before your holiday.

Our change over day is usually a Friday although out of the season it maybe possible to be flexible.
