Skye Fall, Letterfinlay, Spean Bridge, Scottish Highlands, Scotland - Wonderful Location From Which To Explore This Most Beautiful And Interesting Area

Skye Fall is a contemporary loch side house located between Fort William and Fort Augustus. Surrounded by the majestic landscape, it affords easy access to all the main attractions in the area. There are three double bedrooms. All have full en-suite shower rooms and each bedroom overlooks the loch. Each bedroom has French windows out onto the viewing balconies. Two of the bedrooms have large 32inch TVs in them. One of the bedrooms has a wood burning stove. The open plan sitting room and kitchen are on the first floor to take advantage of the wonderful views. There is an outside dining area on the first floor. Steps at the end of the private garden lead down onto the private beach where you can enjoy a BBQ and make use of the private jetty if you wish to bring your own boat. The local marina also rents out boats to cruise the Caledonian Canal, of which Loch Lochy is a part.

About the Owner

Stephen and I live in the Lake District where we run six 4 and 5 star holiday cottages near Kirkby Lonsdale. We have lots of guests who return year after year and we have applied the same high standards to Villa Le Bastidou in France near St Tropez which is also our family holiday home and to our new Scottish house on the shores of the Caledonian Canal

We have rented houses in this area for the last five years and love the landscape and the magnificent views. We always wanted a house on the side of a lake or loch so couldn't believe it when Skye Fall came onto the market in our most favourite location . We keep our boat on our own private jetty and cruise up and down the Caledonian Canal. The scenery is just breathtaking ! At the end of the day , we barbecue on the beach or head out to the pub which is 200 yards away, or to our favourite restaurant in Spean Bridge which is recommended in the Michelin Guide

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The beaches of this wonderful region are within an hour's drive. A visit to the Isle of Skye makes a wonderful day trip and the ferry to Mull from Oban is a must

Travel:

The closest train station at Spean Bridge is a 10 minute drive and provides services to Inverness and London Euston ! Inverness Airport is just over one hour away. It is possible to hire a car from Inverness Airport and drive along Loch Ness to the house

Distances:

The local pub is 200 yards down the road and serves good food overlooking the loch. There is a wonderful restaurant in Spean Bridge (10 minutes) which is featured in the Michelin Guide. Spean Bridge also enjoys a Spar convenience store and a cashmere factory outlet shop. Fort William ( 20 minutes) has a large supermarket and most high street stores. Inverness is an hour away and has a great theatre and first class shopping

Further Details:

The area is alive with things to do. The locks on the Caledonian Canal are fascinating and you can watch the cruise and pleasure craft going through them. Fort William is known as the Adventure Capital of the UK for mountain biking, white water rafting and walking. Visitors can also take the steam train to Mallaig over the Glenfinnan Viaduct made famous in the Harry Potter movies. The house is an excellent base to explore the Highlands and the Western Isles which is renowned for its magnificent scenery and wildlife. The Great Glen way runs along the opposite shore of the loch and is suitable for sedate walking or cycling
