Le Cosquer situated in the Commune of Quistinic is a wonderful small and friendly hamlet within a 5 minute drive of the beautiful River Blavet and 25 minutes from the coast.

Both rated 5* on TripAdvisorr, La Maison Blanche and *Hirondelle are set in gardens of one acre and are both south facing. For the children there is a lovely playhouse with swing and slide, all set under the trees to keep it in the shade all day

Both properties have their own BBQ area with Patio table and chairs overlooking the open countryside.

Pets Welcome

We're happy to accommodate well behaved dogs in most circumstances, for a small fee.

Surrounded by the most beautiful countryside, Le Cosquer is an ideal base for walking and cycling with canoeing and kayaking close by on the Blavet.

Within easy driving distances are the lovely towns of Hennebont, Josselin, Vannes, Auray and Pontivy all steeped in History.

The beautiful Gulf of Morbihan is an hour's drive away where you can take a boat trip around the various islands.

*La Maison Blanche has exclusive use of the private and secluded heated swimming pool (May-September) - 4 feet deep - with small roman end steps.

The Open Plan Living Area has a Dining area with seating for 5-6 people and the comfortable Lounge Area has 2 large sofas, flat screen television with DVD player, CD & Ipod docking station.

Kitchen area - U shaped kitchen work surfaces with integrated gas hob, electric oven, washing machine/tumble drier, dishwasher & fridge with small freezer, plus separate microwave, toaster, kettle etc.

Bedroom 1 is a Double Bedroom with en suite bathroom

Bedroom 2 is a Twin Room also with en suite bathroom

Both en suite bathrooms have modern units with WC, Vanity Sink Unit & Spa Shower Cubicle.

A cot is available at no extra charge if required.

The property benefits from underfloor heating and Wifi throughout.

5* rated by Trip Advisor, Hirondelle is south facing & is nestled alongside the Farmhouse Gite, sharing an acre of shared lawn to the front & has it's own Patio & BBQ area.

Hirondelle does not have access to the pool unless rented with the La Maison Blanche.

While on holiday, we fell in love with the property although total renovation was needed! After having finished La Maison Blanche while still living and working in Devon, we found it more and more difficult to leave and decided to move here permanently in 2010 to renovate Hirondelle.

First time renting a cottage and would definitely consider returning here again. Came with 9 & 11 year old children. Beautiful beaches, activities, towns, cycling, kayaking all within an hours drive. Hosts and accommodation excellent.

A Perfect Place to Stay

The property is as described, beautifully clean and well appointed and maintained. The English owners, Mary and Chris, are on site but do not intrude and are incredibly friendly and helpful. Even the washing is brought in if you have gone out for the day and it looks as though it is going to rain before you get back! The 'welcome basket' is the best I have ever come across with wine, fresh bread, butter and farm eggs amongst the bits provided.

The property is somewhat isolated but only because it's in a wonderful rural setting and very quiet - you will need your own transport. However the offer was made by the owners on more than one occasion to run as to and from a local recommended restaurant so that we could have a drink and not have to drive! A big plus is that Mary will cook you a meal for very modest cost from a provided menu. There are some lovely places to visit within a 30 minute car drive and you are ideally placed for visiting the coast for a day out. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property and hope to be able to make a return visit in the not too distant future.

Le Cosquer is a truly rural hamlet close to the lovely Breton Village of Quistinic and the beautiful River Blavet. The two privately owned Bretagne Gites nestling in the heart of the Blavet Valley, provide a perfect haven for guests of all ages. Young children are welcome to visit the local farm where they can watch the farmer's wife milk the cows and meet the newly born calves.

Coast/Beach:

There are a lot of lovely beaches within easy reach, approximately 20-35 minutes drive.

The beautiful sandy beaches of Larmor Plage and Port Louis are a favourite with families along with Carnac and La Trinite sur Mer.

Gavres to Penthievre is a sand dune with wide open spaces. Quiberon is used by surfers.

Travel:

A car is necessary in Le Cosquer.

Driving time from the nearest ports are:

Roscoff 2hours, St. Malo 2¼ hours Caen 3 hours.

The nearest Airports are:- Lorient ½hour Rennes 1¾hours

Brest 1¾hours Dinard 2 hours Nantes 2 hours.

Distances:

Quistinic is 2km away, here you will find a village shop (with a wonderful bakery), Post Office, Chemist and Small bar plus a Creperie with bar.

The pretty towns of Baud and Bubry are 6-8 km, with larger supermarkets to suit all of your needs along with restaurants and banks.

Other interesting towns within easy driving distance are Pontivy, Hennebont, Auray, Vannes, Rochefort-en-Terre, Josselin, and Malestroit,

Further Details:

Activities include: Fishing on the many nearby lakes and rivers; Golf on the 6 courses all within 1 hours drive. Cycling along the well maintained River Blavet towpath, many miles with no hills - a great way to discover the area. Horse Riding, Canoeing, Boat Trips, Surfing, Diving, Tennis, GoKarting and don't forget to visit the local markets if you want to experience the real Brittany.

Being truly rural Le Cosquer is a very friendly and tranquil commune with nearby beautiful woodland walks and cycle paths. The River Blavet only a 5 minute drive away is ideal for fishing, canoeing and peaceful walks along the towpath. It is also ideally located to explore the many clean & safe beaches within a 25-30m minute drive and also to visit the Golf du Morbihan where you can take a ferry trip to l'Île-aux-Moines and l'Île-d'Arz. You can find an array of tourist attractions, shops and activities for all the family in the some of the ancient towns such as Hennebont, Vannes, Auray and Hennebont along with the nearby towns of Baud and Bubry.

Outside: The shared one acre garden to the front of the property has a children's play house with swing and slide set Each property has their own BBQ plus garden furniture. Exclusive to La Maison Blanche (unless both properties are rented together), the secluded outdoor figure of 8 pool can be found to the side of the property and is 24' x 16'. It is 4'6" deep with Roman steps at one end and ladder steps at the other. To enjoy the view while relaxing by the pool, it is surrounded by a semi transparent fence along with two entrances both with double locks, which comply with the French regulations. Heated from May to September weather permitting.
