About the property

Cottage in Marazion, Cornwall, England - Perfect Location, Five Minutes From Beach And Shops

The Silver House is the ideal base for a relaxing holiday in one of the most unspoilt corners of England at any time of year. You can stroll down to the nearby beaches, browse the galleries and gift shops of Marazion, or explore nearby St Ives, Penzance, Mousehole and everything the wonderful Land's End peninsula has to offer. Or you can simply stay at home, snuggle up with a book and enjoy the wonderful sea view. The cottage has been planned to make your holiday as comfortable as possible; it is spacious but feels cosy, and has a touch of contemporary style. It is well-equipped, with luxurious touches, such as white cotton bed linen and fluffy white towels, as well as wifi broadband. The Silver House has its own private parking space located 300m away. Please note that the changeover day is Saturday. We recently added a cute little patio outside the back door, with bistro table and chairs. You can catch the morning sun and look through the house to the sea!

Guestbook comments from the owner

What a lovely cottage, I couldn't stop oohing and aahing as I went from room to room. And the view, well the view was amazing; people would stop in front of 'our' cottage for a photo of the Mount!

Jennifer, Canada

I stayed more than four weeks at the Silver House. I loved it. The house is great, very well equipped, with comfortable beds. It feels more like a private home than a holiday home. And the view: extraordinary, stunning, absolutely relaxing and recovering. It was just right for me.

Susanne, Switzerland.

The Silver House was the perfect place for our honeymoon holiday! We could not have found a better place to stay, it has wonderful views, perfect kitchen, cosy living spaces and bedrooms, magnificent bathroom and a spectacular garden. Absolutely amazing!

A Great Location.

  • 4 of 5

We were able to visit all of the places we wanted with no problem. Silver House is close to a bus stop, if that's the way you want to go. We used it to visit St. Ives and Penzance. We had a car and were within easy driving distance to the Lizard Peninsula and Land's End and other areas.

Silver House was pleasant to stay in and the view of Mt. St. Michael's was spectacular. We never figured out how the heaters were supposed to work.

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay at the Silver House – and especially the view. There is information about the storage heaters provided at the house, but we will review this to ensure it is clear.

  • 5 of 5

Essen in Marazion:

Superb chill out at The Silver House, Marazion.

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful week here in Marazion. The weather has not always been sunny but that hasn't stopped us from getting out and about. The Mount was exhausting but well worth the climb, and such a delight to see each morning. Lands End proved tricky we had to revisit to get the best of it. But that's not a problem with the provision of weekly tickets - what a good idea. As an afterthought we popped down to the Minack theatre, which was superb. A must go see even if you are not into plays etc. The scenery and sheer feat of what has been made on a cliff side is truly spectacular. We travelled further afield to The Lost Gardens of Heligan and wondered if indeed we had got lost ourselves. Finally the child in us took us to the seal sanctuary which although damp was ideal seal weather. Marazion itself is a delight, quiet enough to feel unrushed but enough to do and see if wanted. Eating out is great but remember to book as the regulars certainly do. All in all we would love to come back to The Silver House, which is a lovely large space, well equipped and very well keep property. The beds are comfy, the shower powerful and the proximity to the action perfect.

Nice cottage. Well equipped. Great views. Perfect holiday for our family.

  • 5 of 5

The directions from the owner were very clear and we found milk in the fridge ready for a cup of tea: most welcome. It was also nice to have a teapot. No shortage of equipment for a relatively small kitchen. There was plenty of stuff in the lounge to keep kids occupied on a rainy day. We only had about 2 of those (rainy days... and kids!).

On sunny days we could sit and have lunch in the beautiful suntrap of a garden over the road.

It was good to be close to the sea and the Mount. This was great for being first to the castle and beating the rush of day-trippers. Also nice to just sit in front of the window and watch the view.

Highly recommend this house. Local things we did: supermarket shopping in Penzance, Land's End, 17B bus trip to St Ives, lots of Marazion, St Michael's Mount and cliff walks.

Great location with exceptional views of Mounts Bay in a tidy spacious comfortable house.

  • 4 of 5

The views from this property are terrific through the large bay windows. Lounge/diner is very spacious and comfortably furnished. Electric heating kept the place cosy. Bedrooms were nicely furnished but no hanging space in the back twin room was a problem. Fortunately only one occupant on this trip. House location is ideal to get to all of Marazion's facilities on foot. An ideal property for days out at many of Cornwall's attractions, Kitchen is compact but well equipped with modern appliances.

Owner's Response: Thanks, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay and liked the house. Point noted about hanging space; there is a very spacious wardrobe in the main bedroom, but we'll think about supplementing that.

Location

Coast/Beach:

Marazion beach is just five minutes walk and is perfect for bathing and for watersports. Other nearby beaches include Perranuthnoe (5 mins) by car, and Praa Sands (10 mins) as well as Porthcurno and Sennen.

Travel:

A car is useful for exploring the area but not strictly necessary as there are regular buses to Penzance and St Ives from the bus stop 50 metres away.

Further Details:

Marazion has a handful of small shops and a good selection of pubs, restaurants and cafes as well as a brilliant deli.
