Villa in La Sierrezuela, Fuengirola, Costa Del Sol, Spain

Located in the upmarket residential area of La Sierrezuela Villa La Solana comfortably sleeps 10-12.

From the veranda Villa La Solana has unrivalled and spectacular panoramic views down to Fuengirola and the sea making it perfect for a relaxing evening drink it is also blessed with a sizeable garden area which also accommodates a BBQ.

Being south facing the villa enjoys uninterrupted sunshine around the garden and pool from sun up to sun down which is quiet unique for any property!

There is a large veranda which has a sizeable table which will seat 12 for eating and there is also a separate relaxed seating area to enjoy the view from.

The villa is 5 double/twin bedroom villa all with en suite bathrooms, 4 styled as "wet rooms" and one has a bath. The bedrooms are unusually spacious and three of them have ample room to accommodate an extra bed and in June 2015 air conditioning was fitted to all the bedrooms. Two are located upstairs along with a kitchen dinning area and a large living area with doors out on to a veranda. The other three are downstairs and two of which have doors leading out to the pool area.

The pool is a generous size (9.5m x 4.5m) with Roman steps at the shallow end making it ideal for families. It can also be heated during the cooler months of the year at an extra cost if required.

About Jeremy or Venetia

We are a farming family in Hertfordshire who have owned property in Fuengirola for over 50 years. Some 40 years ago we found a fantastic opportunity to build our own villa and thus was born La Solana. We have a large family who continue to enjoy the villa as our second home.

Why Jeremy or Venetia chose Mijas

During the 1970s, having already owned a home in the area, we decided to purchase a secluded piece of land with amazing views on top of a hill, on which to build our dream villa. Despite its fantastic private location access to local amenities is quick and easy.

What makes this villa unique

We have enjoyed many holidays at La Solana since we built it in the 1970s on unspoilt countryside. Over the years it has been an ideal second home to entertain friends and family of all ages in a brilliant location. Nearby sports include golf, tennis, horse riding and waterparks.

The villa was built on two plots of land so affords generous garden space so everyone can find a quiet corner if they want.

It has unrivalled views across the countryside and down towards the sea and being south facing you will have continuous sunshine though out the day.

The villa is very spacious with unusually large bedrooms all with a bathroom and communal areas suitable for children and adults alike.

The villa is only a 20 minute drive from Malaga airport so is a hassle free transfer to sunshine! Marbella is a simple 20 minute drive and the charming white-washed village of Mijas, only 4 miles from the villa, retains much of the Andalusian way of life and is very interesting to explore.

Local shops and restaurants are only a 10 minute walk.

Notes on accommodation: Please note this is a non-smoking property. Child friendly. We can provide a 2 travel cots and 2 high chairs at no extra cost notice to be given Sorry no pets. Outside: The villa boasts a large mature south facing garden with private pool allowing uninterrupted sunshine until late. The pool has shallow and deep ends with roman end swimming pool steps. The south facing pool can be illuminated at night. Sun loungers are provided. There is a barbecue area available with barbecue. Lower terraces offer a choice of seating and dining areas. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bathroom towels and linen are provided. Separate beach towels are also provided. The property will cleaned once if your stay is over 10 days, and more frequently by arrangement only, this also applies to the towels and linen.

Excellent family accomodation

We have just returned from a week at La Solana. Our family holiday was to celebrate two 'round' birthdays and it was the perfect place for our family of 8 adults, 1 teenager and 2 children. Apart from two days at the beach, we spent our days in and around the pool. The villa and gardens were spacious enough for us all to have our own space, yet we gathered on the veranda in the evenings, with a glass of wine and a game of cards

enjoying the fantastic view over Fuengirola.

Due to the size of our party, we decided not to bother with a hire car and relied on either taxis or the bus into Fuengirola. It is a 15 minute walk down to El Coto where there is a small supermarket, Pizzeria, Pharmacy, 2 reasonable restaurants (which do,takeaways) and the bus stop. The supermarket will order you a taxi back to the villa !

For shopping a hire car would be advantageous!

La Solana is well equipped for a family holiday and we would certainly return and recommend.

A wonderful week with lots of special memories.

Great family holiday

Beautiful and well appointed villa with great views from the rear terrace stretching down to the sea. Spacious and comfortable with a great pool it was the perfect base for our family holiday. Although a car will be essential the villa is handily placed between the lively Fuengirola and the beautiful Mijas each with loads of restaurants and bars , both these towns have very efficient and reasonably priced taxi services to get you home if needed. Thank you Jeremy for a very enjoyable stay all round.

Fabulous Holiday

Our extended family,8 Adults and two children have just returned from a Fantastic week at Villa La Solana,

The Villa was very homely, spacious and well equipped.

Having the Sun all day meant we spent most of our time at the pool or on the first floor terrace, this also allowed us to relax in the evenings with superb views of Fuengirola.

El Coto has three great restaurants. La Verona The Indian and the Pizzeria and has a supermarket for the essentials.The walk from the Villa takes 15 minutes downhill but would recommend a taxi back! costing 8 Euros per journey.

As this was our first Villa holiday, Jeremy was very helpful giving us advice before our arrival.

Would happily revisit in the future.

Great property in a good location

We have recently stayed in this property with 6 adults and 6 children. The property was in a lovely location with great views. There was plenty of room for us all and Jeremy was very accommodating even sourcing extra high chairs and travel cots for us to save us bringing them with us. There was also a stair gate in place on the stairs down to the bedrooms which was great as with young children it meant we were able to relax.

Overall we had a great time and would highly recommend the property.

Superb Villa

Three generations of our family stayed in this wonderful villa. It is huge... ! It was very clean and tidy. All rooms have remote air conditioning. The pool is not overlooked and is a real sun trap. And the view.... Every night we sat on that balcony with a bottle of wine to watch the sun go down... Bliss. The owners are very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. We would love to return.... !

Beautiful villa in fabulous surroundings

I visited Villa Solana this September to celebrate a 'round' Birthday with 9 'girlfriends' - and it turned out to be the PERFECT choice!!

First of all the owner, Jeremy, had been extremely responsive and helpful both when booking and during the months leading up to our stay. He happily answered any questions I had about the villa and the area and also provided great advice regarding local car hire, restaurants, beaches etc.

The rooms in the villa were all clean, tidy, well-equipped and quite large - and all had their own en-suite. In addition, most of them have doors that lead directly out into the pool/garden area - or onto the huge upstairs terrasse (too big to be described as a balcony!!) with that FANTASTIC view over the mountains, the town and the sea.

The kitchen was also well-equipped, with 2 fridges, dishwasher and washing machine - and both the dining and lounge areas were spacious and with plenty of space for at least 10 adults.

We spent most of our time lounging by the pool (great size and cleaned by 'pool man' whilst we were there) as well as 'lazying' around and dining on the terasse in the evenings (terrasse had both a dining area with plenty of space for 10 adults to dine comfortably as well as a more relaxed sofa arrangement).

We only ventured out for lunch on one occasion (bar on the beach - lovely) and dinner one evening (can't remember the name of the restaurant but it was in 'the square' and it was 'buzzing' and really nice). The drive into town from the villa was only approx. 10 minutes but the area where the villa is situated is very hilly so a car is definitely recommended - and there's room for parking at least 3 cars by the villa.

Finally, the photos don't lie ..... the view (and the villa) really IS that lovely! We all had such a great time - really didn't want to leave - and all hope to be back in the near future.

Malaga airport is an easy transfer at only a 20 minute drive. Whilst there is also a train from the airport to Fuengirola you may find it useful to hire a car at the airport to explore the area and reach local amenities.

For evenings out you may like to book one of the local, reliable taxis widely available.

Booking Notes:
1 To secure your booking a deposit of 25% is required.

2 The balance is payable 8 weeks prior to arrival.

3 A security deposit of £300 is due with final payment which is held against damage and breakages. It is fully refundable on inspection of property after departure.

4 This is a family home and is suitable to hire as such.

5 Rates are for 10 guests. Extra guests up to the maximum of 12 may be subject to an extra charge at £75 per person per week

6 The swimming pool may be heated during the cooler months at £100 per week.

Changeover Day:
Saturday to Saturday is preferred but we can be flexible depending on other bookings. Please contact us to discuss.
