Hillcrest Park is our rural, 6 acre, holiday location in the northernmost of the Yorkshire Dales, Teesdale. Surrounded by farmland, it offers peace, tranquillity and beautiful views of Teesdale – yet is only 10mins from the A66. It is ideal for walkers, cyclists and dog owners (we have a dog walking field onsite) and is close to Richmond, Barnard Castle, High Force Waterfall, Raby Castle and a host of other Dales attractions.
We aim to offer all our guests - and their pets! - a comfortable, get-away-from-it all, rural retreat.

Ivy Cottage has a large sitting/dining room with electric fire, TV with DVD player and Freeview. The main bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has twin beds. The kitchen is well equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven, hob and microwave. It has electric central heating and Wi-Fi is available.

About the Owner
We (Ed and Kate) have been at Hillcrest Park since March 2011, and have been delighted that many of our visitors return again and again. Ed's local knowledge is pretty comprehensive and we enjoy welcoming people to this beautiful area and providing a peaceful base for them to explore Teesdale and the surrounding Dales.
We live on site and are on hand to help out our guests with anything they may need, but also happy to leave guests to enjoy their break in peace.

The service we received was very good, very friendly and very helpful owners. Hawthorn cottage was excellent and well stocked food cupboard, also very clean. The location was good.What we liked best was the peace and quiet.

Excellent location to see lots of interesting places, all within an hour's drive: Teesdale, Weardale, Swaledale, Wensleydale, Durham and North York Moors. Rose cottage was beautifully clean and equipped to a very high standard.

Having self catered many times, Ivy was one of the best cottages we have had. The kitchen was well equipped with breakfast bar, the bathroom roomy and shower brilliant, the lounge spacious, TV worked better than ours at home. As for the bed, well, what a shame we had to get out of it. Dog walking area was a real bonus. It had everything we needed. Would certainly recommend to others. A gem of a place. Thank you again.

Ivy Cottage was spacious, clean & had everything needed for a perfect stay. Kate & Ed were very friendly and welcoming. Their properties are beautifully situated in a rural surrounding but within easy travelling distance of Richmond, Barnard Castle and the surrounding villages. The whole area is very well cared for & the local villages all have very welcoming pubs! Richmond itself is a lovely, well maintained town with a super selection of shops, including the old Richmond Station (very nice cafe & artisan shops) and a very pleasant river walk. Kate & Ed are definitely dog friendly and the dog walking field is an absolute bonus with tracks mowed (by Ed) through the long grass for ease of walking. Overall this was a perfect few days, with perfect hosts and a 'home from home' cottage. Will definitely be back!

We are less than a mile away from the River Tees, and you can pick up the Teesdale Way at Winston Gate and walk to Whorlton, where there is a very dog friendly pub called The Bridge Inn. It is a beautiful (appx) 10m circular walk, taking in the suspension bridge at Whorlton and some stunning Teesdale scenery.
The nearest shop is at Gainford (a 7minute drive), but we usually keep a stock of basics available from our kitchen, in case you run out!

Changeover day is Saturday, but we can be flexible if necessary. Arrivals not before 4pm and departures by 10am. Again, there can be flexibility in this.
Notes on prices:
Three night breaks are available from £180 to £250, dependent on the time of year. Please ignore the misleading Owners Direct short break pricing.
Long stays by negotiation.
We ask for a (non refundable) deposit of £50 and the balance to be paid 6 weeks prior to arrival. We take card payments over the phone or direct bank transfers.

We also have a Tourist Information area with lots of leaflets and pointers about what to do. All accommodation is non-smoking.
