Set back in the rolling hills of Mougins and within walking distance of both the old village and important and necessary local amenities. Cannes is a 15 minute drive away to reach the centre where the beaches, local islands and elegant shopping can be explored. The property is a 5 minute drive away from the A8 motorway giving quick and easy access to and from Nice International Airport, being only 20 minutes away and of course easy access to the rest of the coast. Suitable for families with young children or older or for a group of friends.

Fantastic villa, lovely garden, perfect pool!

The recent renovations to the kitchen and bathrooms are really nice and we loved sitting around the island / breakfast bar in the mornings and getting ourselves ready for the day. The pool, loungers, outdoor table, bbq and pool house provided a perfect setting for long afternoons enjoying the sun. Mougins itself is a really nice village / town and the villa is perfectly located for the super markets and the old town (as long as you don't mind walking up the hill!). Our entire family can't wait to come back next summer!

Another excellent holiday

We returned to this property this year, after spending our summer holiday there in 2014.

The property was still in excellent condition. The owner was brilliant once again and nothing was too much of a problem. All of the issues that we addressed last year had been reacted upon this year.

The garden was very nice with the gardener visiting frequently. Gardener was no problem for us, since he was always visiting the property while we were away at the beach.

The swimming pool was excellent to use and was cleaned and maintained by the owner frequently. The pool area was always perfect for evening BBQs.

We spent another 2 weeks at the property, which made our holiday in Southern France very memorable.

Excellent Holiday Home

The property was in a very good condition and well furnished. House came with excellent WiFi access and Sky TV available. Nearest beach was in about 15 minute drive from the property, therefore having a car would be absolutely necessary if you want to stay in Mougins.

The garden was very nice with the gardener visiting frequently. Be aware, that he has the keys to the front gate, so sometimes he can visit when you are least prepared!

The pool was very good to use and was cleaned by the owner every 3 days. Excellent dining area near the pool with a lovely courtyard area perfect for evening BBQs.

The house is located close to both local Carrefour Supermarket and some local bakeries, greengrocers and cafes. There are also a pharmacy, post office and a veterinarian nearby.

There is everything you need for a holiday in the south of France. The owner was brilliant and nothing was too much of a problem.

Overall, we spent 2 unforgettable weeks at the property, and would love very much to return in the future.

Idyllic setting and close to everything

We came on holiday at the start of July, and were apparently the first to ever rent this delightful provencale house in what can only be described as an idyllic setting, complete with a little stream (providing endless fun for the kids!), lovely pool, beautiful trees,the distant chime of the church bells...). The house is beautifully decorated, very comfortable and well equipped. We could see and appreciated the fact that pretty much everything was brand new (towels, linen, pillows, pool loungers etc etc) and the house was immaculate when we arrived. There is a minor B road at the entrance of the driveway but the house and pool area are quite far from it and we couldn't hear it from there. The charming lady who owns it also went to lengths to help us with anything we needed to know or places to visit (you can walk to Mougins village, and are abkut 15 mins drive from Grasse, Valbonne, Cannes, Antibes and St Paul de Vence just a bit further on). As none of us wanted to cook we ate out a lot- lots of very good restaurants are within walking distance so we were spoilt for choice (our favourite was la Place and Entree des Artistes).

We also spent a lot of time by the pool sunbathing and whentoo hot under a shaded area and I have to say that just listening to the stream and the birds singing made all that stress I arrived with drop off my shoulders. A gem. Don't change a thing and we'll be back!

Following an extremely in-depth and thorough inventory check-in, we finally had a chance to relax at the property for a stay of 2 weeks. The house is quite a bit noisier than was advertised, not because of the motorway to Cannes but because of the Departmentale. Also not mentioned in the description is the small fact that a stream runs across the property and to our greatest shock after a week or so, we had several sightings of rats in the back of the garden. Also a word of advice...do not break any glasses, you will be charged 2 euros or so...quite unbelievable when you factor in the cost of the rental ! Regards.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review and in response: an in-depth telephone conversation took place prior to this booking, regarding the location of the villa versus the road and further photographs were supplied at that time. Although the road can be heard, it is not invasive above the beautiful birdsong and chirping crickets of the natural surroundings. However, your points have been noted and the advert updated to also reflect the pretty running stream that runs through the garden. As to possible vermin sightings, no evidence was provided and nor has there ever been any evidence of a problem; regardless of this, the situation was dealt with immediately, with several traps having been laid. It was noted, however, that the dustbin had not been emptied once during this tenancy and was so full, the lid wouldn’t close and within, it was teeming with maggots, this was almost certainly the reason for any sightings during that period. And finally, charges were incurred for several broken glasses, as well as the replacement of a damaged parasol, which was not mentioned in the review; it would have been deemed unfair to charge for some items and not others. My dream has been to have a villa in Mougins, it is such a magical area of the world. The location is second to none and is surrounded by the most beautiful natural, breathtaking landscape... it does not cease to take my breath away... daily! And the weather is unbelievable! I also have easy access to Cannes, a town that I love for it's cosmopolitan air, as well as super shops, entertainment, restaurants, markets and beaches. It is also 5 minutes drive from the motorway, from there I can be in Italy, another love of mine, in 1 hour, not to mention the other nearby areas of the Var; there is so much to see and experience in the amazing part of the world.

Coast/Beach:

The famous beaches of Cannes, La Croisette are a 15 minute drive from the villa.

Travel:

20 minutes drive from Nice International Airport to the villa, door to door. Transfers from the airport to the villa can be provided on request. Although the immediate local area can be visited by foot, car hire would be advisable should you wish to visit other nearby areas, sites and beaches. There are, however, regular bus services to and from Cannes; Cannes having a major SNCF train station servicing the whole of France.

Distances:

The nearest village is the famous old village of Mougins, known for it's wealth of gastronomic restaurants and quaint, provencal streets; 15 minutes walking distance. Cannes, the home to the stars, with some of the best known shops and beaches, is a 15 minute drive. Grasse the perfume capital of the world is a 15 minute drive. 20 minute drive to Nice with fabulous shopping, beaches and fresh food and antique markets. A little further afield is the Gorge de Verdun which is a breath taking must!

Further Details:

Carrefour Market is a well equipped supermarket providing all your day to day needs, a 10 minute walk from the villa, with a host of other shops to include, banks, chemist, fish monger, hairdresser, book shop and vet, to mention but a few.

  • Notes on accommodation: This is a beautifully appointed, new luxuriously furnished villa, which would give you a home from home feel for the perfect holiday Outside: The villa is accessed via an automatic double gate providing parking for up to 4 cars to the front of the property. The house itself is set back from the main road with a pretty fresh water stream to the right; then the garden continues to the right of the villa and proudly has it's own private kidney shaped swimming pool with a removable security fence, the pool is roughly 7m x 4m and is unheated. There is a contemporary dining table and chairs seating up to 8 people with pool side loungers and BBQ. The independent studio is in the back garden by the pool. Kitchen: All appliances have been integrated within the kitchen Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included. Cleaner can be supplied on request.
