Guestbook comments from the owner

Excellent well kept cottage with beautiful views and complete privacy. A week in the wooded and rural surroundings of Symonds Yat. The detached house is fully equipped, including a fine bed, and decorated with lots of love and attention. You have a beautiful view of the valley and spacious terrace. The presence of information encompassing the surroundings: pubs - shops - attractions - also hiking and cycling routes we found very nice. The owner was always available for questions. In short we had a great week. Thank you.

Really enjoyed our 3 nights here. Really well furnished, with freeview tv, well equipped kitchen and comfortable furnishings. Loads of information , leaflets, menus and guides. Well placed for restaurants and sightseeing. Would definitely recommend it.

Comfortable and well appointed with lovely views and in a quiet location.

  • 5 of 5

Excellent base for walking in the Wye valley and seeing the colour changing of the leaves. We enjoyed visits to Goodrich Castle, Ross on Wye, Symmonds Yat rock and Monmouth. Ye Olde Ferrie Inn was very convenient and the staff there were very friendly.

The hostess was very helpful and the facilities in the property were excellent.

Couldn't have hoped for more!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a three night stay at Wye Valley view and what a lovely short break it was. The self catering accommodation had everything we needed, comfy double bed, lovely lounge, well equipped kitchen and a lovely hot shower after a long day walking around the beautiful valley. The property is so close to all the local pubs, hotels & amenities that we didn't need a car. The terrace garden offers amazing views and the garden behind the property was great for bird watching! Everything was very clean and well maintained and the owner is very friendly. If you are looking for a property from which to explore Symonds Yat, retire to a nice pub after your walk and get a good nights sleep then this is your place. Would I return again? YES!!

Thank you for a lovely trip.

A warm welcome in the Wye valley

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay in this cottage. It was exactly as we expected from the website description but in addition there were many special touches which enhanced our stay. We particularly enjoyed the local wildlife especially watching the small birds feeding in the garden and the tame pheasants clearing up the scraps. The owner of the property was efficient during the booking process and quickly responded to any queries. Our housekeeping deposit was returned promptly.

Once we arrived we did not need to move our car throughout our stay as there are several good pubs nearby for evening meals and plenty of walks and other activities on the doorstep.

We would not hesitate to stay there again and would happily recommend the cottage to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

Excellent accommodation with beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was perfect for our family holiday with two small boys. It was well equipped with plenty of extras to keep the boys entertained, games, books etc. The owners were extremely helpful, both before we went and on arrival. The views from the cottage are beautiful and we all enjoyed watching the local wildlife from the front room, the friendly pheasant, many other birds and of course the friendly sheep who we liked giving the treats to. Symonds Yat is a great location for exploring the Wye valley with lots of lovely walks right from the doorstep. We also enjoyed days out to Eastnor Castle, Puzzlewood and the Forest of Dean. Would definitely recommend the place and accommodation, we hope to visit again
