About the Owner

Tony and Suzi Lewis bought the cottages in December 2013 when they moved here from their home in Dartmouth.

Very hospitable hosts, they welcome all guests with homemade scones for the welcome Devon tea that is in the cottages awaiting the guests.

They aim to give guests a holiday experience that differentiates Foxdown from other venues and

work hard to make that happen. A real "can do" attitude!

A really friendly and gregarious couple who love their Labradoodles and welcome other dogs with enthusiasm and have a fun approach to life.

The hosts were so welcoming and we felt nothing was too much trouble. Lovely smell in the property considering they are so dog friendly, clean and tidy. Welcome bottle of Proscecco and cream tea and fantastic location.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Our cottages would provide an excellent base for surfers, cyclist, golfers and walkers. Close by we have shooting, horse riding, fishing (fresh water and sea) there are also plenty of rivers for kayaking and rowing.

The nearest beach is Westward Ho! approx 5 mins drive. There is a surf school as well as other beach activities available. Instow is less than a ten minute drive away and has a sandy beach with dunes and is perfect for a family day by the beach. Peppercombe is just off the main highway and after a ramble through the woods you come to a pebbly beach which is ideal for a beach BBQ.

The nearest Airport is either Bristol or Exeter both about 50-60 miles away. The use of a car is necessary as we are in a very rural setting.

The nearest village is approximately one and half miles away. There are several supermarkets in Barnstaple and Bideford. Hartland Abbey and Clovelly (a small fishing village) are only ten minutes drive. RHS Rosemore is 15 minutes drive with several open gardens locally. Boats for Lundy Island leave from Bideford Quay. The Kathleen and May, a restored clipper is also moored at Bideford.
