I cant recomend this place highly enough

  • 5 of 5

Spent a few nights here with the family. I have two children aged 6 & 7 and they absolutely loved it. Great location and really cosy living quarters. Kerry (the owner) was great and was happy to talk about the farm and even let the children bottle feed baby lamb. Great country escape away from city life and loads to do in the area. I'm sure we will be back one day.

Cosy, well-located, attractive cottage

  • 4 of 5

Really well-located cottage, 2 minutes from Matlock, and a great Sainsbury's, yet in the middle of the countryside. The children loved watching the new born lambs, Kerry and Wendy were very friendly and helpful, and we loved seeing their horses, dogs, cat and sheep. The cottage is very cosy, clean, attractively furnished, well-equipped and comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here.

There is room for three in the downstairs bedroom, but they would need to get on well together, as it is not a large room. It was fine for my two though (12 year old girl, 13 year old boy).

We enjoyed visiting the Heights of Abraham (5 minutes), fascinating working museum's at Arkwright's mill (10 minutes), Caudwell's mill (Rowsley) and beautiful walks locally and in nearby Lathskilldale and Dove Dale.

Lovely Cottage, very well situated just outside Matlock Spa, perfect for the Peaks and our visit to Derby Uni. Would stay again.
