The property consists of 4 good size bedrooms, sleeping eight in total with very comfortable beds! - king size duvets on the double beds all bedding has hygiene cover protectors. A large kitchen/diner, utility room, ground floor walk-in shower and toilet, first floor bathroom and a good sized sitting room. There is private parking for two cars to the rear of the property.The house was refurbished in 2012 to a high standard retaining many original features. It has been tastefully furnished with antique pine and period furniture.The garden has been landscaped and a patio added for alfresco dinning and relaxing. The house offers lots of space, a drying area, plenty of coat hooks and areas to store walking clothes and boots making it ideal for keen walkers and people who enjoy outdoor pursuits. We have a number of books with local walks which guests are welcome to use whilst in the property. The property is child and pet friendly. We now have wifi - added in November 2015

We have tried to offer everything which I would look for in a holiday cottage myself.

Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, room for all the guests to sit around the dining table, good powerful shower, bath, spacious, homely, parking, quiet location and cleanliness.

I have lived in Tideswell all my life and think it is a great place to explore the peak district.

We still live in the village so are on hand should any of our guests need any help.

Tideswell has so much to offer with great tea shops, good pubs, two chip shops and much more. I feel very proud of my village.

We spent a fantastic weekend here earlier this month, a family party of seven adults. There was plenty of room for all of us, and the house was well equipped with everything we could need; it was great to find bread and milk waiting for us on arrival. The house is full of character and beautifully decorated, with bright, airy bedrooms and a pretty garden/patio at the back. Tideswell is a lovely village and a great base for anyone wanting to explore the Peak District. Booking and arrangements were very straightforward owing to excellent, helpful communication from Debs. All-in-all a very positive experience!



It was a great base to explore the beautiful Peak District. I have used several cottages through various companies and this was of a high standard. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lynton Cottage to anyone!!



Arrived to a clean house -the beds were all so comfy with my favourite at the very top of the house. Amazingly deep bath and so very relaxing.

An excellent central base for the Peak District

The layout of the property was very good with a well equipped kitchen and good sized rooms for our family of 6 adults and 3 under 7s. All the facilities worked well. The property was clean and well maintained with all kitchen appliances and equipment clean and easy to work.

The owner provided excellent customer service with good pre visit information. I would certainly recommend this property to a friend or relative.

The Corner Chippy: excellent fish and chips.

Tideswell Bakery: go early for your bread

Recommended visits: Chestnut Centre, Heights of Abraham, Ilam Park and Dovedale, Lyme Park, Bakewell all between 20 and 40 mins away

Tideswell treasure

A very enjoyable stay for 4 adults and 3 children in this comfortable and very well equipped house. We made use of the well furnished patio and the generous supply of games. It was a pleasure to be find good walks straight from the house and to have shops within easy reach in this very friendly village.

Thank you for our stay in Lynton, your perfect holiday rental property... we all loved it....

For all seven of us, our friends 60th birthday was a jolly time together and we were very comfortable in the house - we booked it because the bedroom accommodation suited our needs exactly and we were not disappointed, the standard was very high - everywhere was beautifully designed, presented and well thought through and practical.....

Historically our group have rented many times, as a way of getting together from different parts of Europe and the experience in your property ranks amongst the top rentals we have had over the last 20 + years... we would all certainly return another time.

Best Family Christmas ever

We had a great stay at Lynton. I do not easily give 5 stars but the owner went over the top to make our family christmas really special. Booking was easy, friendly and efficient. Upon arrival we found the property was very clean and well maintained and in a nice location. Just as stated in the description. Previous to our stay the owner had installed broadband and wireless for us so I could remotely connect to a biogas plant I am supervising for a living. The house was beautifully decorated and the owner put an incredible amount of attention to detail. I could not believe when we found a aluminium foil turkey tray to prepare the christmas dinner in the kitchen. How thoughtful! After we have booked the place my cousin decided to join us with his family. The owner recommended us a place right opposite that was not listed anywhere yet so we booked it last minute. This place was also perfect. This is why I think this place deserves nothing less than 5 stars from us.

Relaxing family half-term break

We had a nice relaxing stay over the half-term break at Lynton. Our group had 5 adults, 3 tennagers and 2 small dogs but there was plenty of room in this spacious, warm and comfortable house. It was simple to book our stay and the the owners quickly responded to any queries we had. There were some nice welcoming touches on our arrival and they briefly popped by to check all was well. The house is really well equipped and the 2 bathroom/shower rooms dealt with all our needs (important with 3 tennagers !). Tideswell is a good sized village which has a good selection of pubs, shops and tea rooms to check out. It is an ideal base to explore the peaks and we would recommend The Monsal Trail for a family cycle ride as well as the Chestnut Otter & Owl centre. We also found a nice (free) walk around the grounds of Charsworth House and admired the wonderful golden autumnal colours.

Tranquility at Tideswell

Spotless and spacious house. Lots of lovely personal touches. Couldn't fault it at all. Kids not too happy about no wi-fi and no phone reception, we personally thought it was a nice break from being online. Lovely village, would recommend.

Owner's Response: Thanks for lovely review - some phone networks do work and I believe that most do in the top floor bedroom. Wi-fi will be installed for Xmas so hopefully keep the younger members happy. Thanks for recommendation.

We just loved the fact that the three terrace houses all belonged to the same family and still retain much of the original look from when they were first built nearly 100 years ago. They would have been very grand in their day !

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Owner will accept well behaved house trained dog, at an additional charge of £15 per week or part of week, on the understanding that it is not left unattended in the cottage, and is not allowed on the furniture or within the upstairs accommodation. Outside: There is a front garden, which catches the early morning sun and a small private back yard, which is ideal for bikes and outdoor equipment. The rear cottage garden is enclosed and secure, it benefits from the afternoon and evening sun, guests are welcome to use the fresh herbs planted in the garden. There is a lawned area and patio equipped with table, chairs and parasol – great for BBQ’s. The garden and car parking area benefit from night-time light sensors. A rotary airer is available for drying washing. Utility Room: The adjoining utility room has a large fridge/freezer, extra cupboard storage, vegetable rack, shoe rack, coat storage and washing machine. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linens are included and are changed on weekly basis. The cottage is maintained to a high level of cleanliness. We also provide a start up supply of toilet rolls, kitchen towel, foil, cling film, washing up liquid and hand soap. Other: Entrance porch with coat hanging, two outdoor secure sheds for extra storage and bike store. Cylinder cupboard in utility for drying clothes.
