About the property

Cottage Nr Staffin, Isle of Skye. 3 bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 5. Great views, near sea and fabulous mountains.

Just upgraded including refurbished bathroom and kitchen, February 2018.

Discounts up to 50% for 7 night bookings.

Open plan living with wonderful natural light in a traditional stone croft house. Willie Mcleod’s House sits detached in a crofted landscape with beautiful views towards the nearby sea and the hills.

Near midway between Staffin and Uig, Willie's is well placed for access to the coast and the Trotternish Ridge with it's spectacular and wondrous Quiraing rock formations.

Inside the classic picturesque whitewashed cottage exterior is a modern-living surprise – all air, space and light downstairs in the living area, with smart, contemporary furnishings and tasteful, sympathetic decoration. The new wood-burning stove adds to the air of warm, comfortable welcome.

The newly upgraded kitchen and bathroom finish the ground floor accommodation in style and functionality, including a separate walk-in shower and bath and an additional single WC. The kitchen is fully equipped and newly upgraded, including electric oven, hob, washer/dryer, fridge, microwave and dishwasher.

Up the wide wooden stairs to 3 bedrooms – a (king-size) double, a twin and a single. A cot is available and we provide linen and towels. An initial basket of logs is also provided for the wood-burner. Boot room.

Off-road parking for at least 3 cars. Willie’s shares it’s large garden with our own Byre.

Free unlimited wifi. No smoking. Pets strictly by arrangement.

Traditional dated cottage

  • 3 of 5

Traditional dated cottage.

Beautiful surroundings in the middle of Ilse of Sky.

It is a Shame that the house is so dated.

Carpet in the bathroom and toilet were not very hygienic and we had never seen it before.

Also a timer to get warm water during the day. To take a shower then is an experience at is OWN. The sofas were durty and saggy.

The beds were fine and we had a good sleep and the house itself has enough living space.

Unfortunalety the owner has not made an information map for the guests.

An Nice fix -upper!

Cottage is in the middle of nowhere, where wind blows, friendly dogs play with you.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage of a surprise to us. First of all wind blowing a lot, even when it was not bad on your walk around Skye. Because the weather was beautiful, it was kind of refreshing. You can even feel isolated, but you have your family/friends around and that what counts. You put fire and you are warm. Evenings were nice, spend in friendly atmosphere, reading, talking, watching movies. In the mornings you have your breakfast by the table with sunrise above the see, in full sun. Wonderful moments... There was everything you need, plenty of spece for everybody, beds were comfortable... only the shower you need to learn how to operate. We highly recommend the place for its coziness and special atmosphere.

Thanks a lot.

Cozy but a long ways off.

  • 4 of 5

We booked late in the game, and didn't have much of a choice but to stay in what seemed like the furthest point of Skye. Despite the inconvenience of the location - the surroundings were beautiful, we enjoyed waking up to see bounding lambs in the field just at the doorstep, and enjoyed the view all the way up to the place. The house was warm and spacious and was exactly what we wanted for our getaway! Jon and Lorraine were pleasant and easy to provide information and were very available if we had any questions.
