About this property

Traditional Croft House, modern interior, in stunning landscape, near the coast.

Attractive discounts for bookings of 7 nights plus.

Open plan living with wonderful natural light in a traditional stone croft house. Willie Mcleod’s House sits detached in a crofted landscape with beautiful views towards the nearby sea and the hills.

Near midway between Staffin and Uig, Willie's is well placed for access to the coast and the Trotternish Ridge with it's spectacular and wondrous Quiraing rock formations.
Inside the classic picturesque whitewashed cottage exterior is a modern-living surprise – all air, space and light downstairs in the living area, with smart, contemporary furnishings and tasteful, sympathetic decoration. The wood-burning stove adds to the air of warm, comfortable welcome.

The kitchen and bathroom finish the ground floor accommodation in style and functionality, including a walk-in shower and seperate bath and an additional single WC. The kitchen is fully equipped and newly upgraded, including electric oven, hob, washer/dryer, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and dishwasher.

Up the wide wooden stairs to 3 bedrooms – a (king-size) double, a twin and a single. We provide linen and towels. An initial basket of logs and kindling is also provided for the wood-burner. Boot room.

Off-road parking for at least 3 cars. Willie’s shares it’s large garden with our own Byre.

Free unlimited wifi. No smoking. Pets strictly by arrangement.

A True Isle of Skye Experience
If you are looking for a property on the Isle of Skye that takes you to the true experience, you have found it. The location, the property and the home are breathtaking. Surrounded by a working sheep farm with sweeping views to the sea, the hills and stunning cliffs, this place is truly magical. From the bleating of sheep, mooing of cows, rabbits abounding, to the Shepard who is the worlds best neighbor and ambassador to the Isle Skye, you are immediately transported to what life is like on this most amazing Island. The home is perfect in every way. Beautifully decorated, warm and comforting (it has a real wood fireplace) and so well appointed with amenities and a beautiful well equipped kitchen. The bedrooms are spacious and tastefully done. The owner, Lorraine, was more than welcoming, and answered any inquiries or questions before, upon arrival, and during our stay immediately. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend anybody to do so. The only constructive feedback we would have, and it was an issue easily figured out, would be better instructions in house to use the window and door locks, and the heating. You want be disappointed with this property.

Real piece of Skye
Travelling with our 3 dogs is not always easy to find accommodation . Dogs or no dogs , if you want the offer of the isles tranquillity ? It’s here. The cottage is spacious, comfortable and provides all you would need to keep yourselves in good stead for your stay and Lorraine kindly welcomed us and our 3 small companions. Local neighbouring crofter ( farmer ) Alan works his dogs each day bringing in his flock . You can immerse yourself as much as you want . Connecting to the locals made it something special. And the location. Well it’s alongside farmlands, you have the view of the sea one direction the Quiraings the other 😊

New Year on Skye
Carol Alan and Fiona spent three wonderful days staying in Willie Mcleod’s cottage. We felt immediately at home in this cosy and welcoming house. Lorraine our host left us a lovely welcome letter with all the information we needed to enjoy our stay. We soon had a lovely wood fire burning and that added to the experience. The views from the cottage were amazing and the peace and quiet was just what we all needed. Everyone who visits the cottage will love it. Thank you so much to our host Lorraine. We hope to return again.

About the host

Host profile image
I have lived permanently on the Isle of Skye for 8 years after retiring early from being a Forest School leader and working with children with special needs.
I first visited Skye 25 years ago and lost my heart to this stunning island. My passion is being out in the landscape but in particular walking in the mountains on Skye and all over Scotland and the islands, travelling around in “Vanessa” my Campervan.

Why they chose this property

Willie McLeods House is located in a very quite, open, rural position with uninterrupted views to the Quiraing on the Trottenish Ridge and the towering mountains along the West Coast of mainland Scotland.
The property has recently undergone a complete upgrade, inside and out and caters for your every need after a day out walking or sightseeing.

What makes this property unique

Very quite location, walks from the front door, uninterrupted views, in full view of the most amazing Hebredian sunrises.
