Spacious and solitaire

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is situated in a very remote area of the island, very peaceful and quiet, only sometimes some cows that moo. In the cottage you will find spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds. The living and dining room are also very spacious and offer sufficient space for a party of five. The kitchen is fully equipped including washing machine annex dryer and a dishwasher. The only negative aspect of the cottage are the sofa's. However, we had the same experience with the sofa also at other cottages.

But for a quiet holiday at a beautiful part of the island, book this cottage, leave telephone and computers at home, and RELAX.

A totally peaceful and relaxing place in a stunning setting

  • 5 of 5

I'm writing this review over a last cup of coffee before we leave. As we have every day, in all types of weather over the past two weeks we are looking out the front window at free range hens pecking around the car, watching also for the three rabbits that appear from time to time, seeing how the morning sun plays on the greens of the grasses and sedges in the valley and checking out the sea with the mainland mountains in the background. If it wasn't for all the things worth doing on the island it would be easy to do this all day long. We will miss it.

It has been a wonderful holiday full of wonderful experiences.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for this review which delightfully evokes so many of the qualities and feelings that led us to establish ourselves in Willie Mcleod's House. It has been a pleasure having as guests a couple so appreciative of all that the island, our situation and our cottage have to offer, and so engaging in that appreciation. We hope that one day you'll again be able to make that journey of thousands of miles to Skye.

Very cozy for family cottage stay!

  • 5 of 5

All five of us really enjoyed our stay. My parents who were visiting from India were very happy with the serenity of the surroundings and the location of the cottage. The bedrooms had a lovely view of the sea and the mountains to wake up to! The landlady living next door was very friendly and offered extra fuel for the fireplace if needed. Everything in the cottage was in abundance.
