Glanrhyd cottage has recently been sympathetically restored by local craftsmen employing traditional methods and environmentally friendly materials. Whilst authentic and traditional, the cottage enjoys all mod cons. The cottage is tastefully designed and ideally suited to discerning couples seeking a romantic break and solitude. However, it can comfortably accommodate up to four people in two double bedrooms at opposing ends of the property, allowing for space and privacy. I stayed here recently with my partner and our young daughter. The property was exactly as advertised, clean and well stock with everything you could need. A very short walk away from the centre of the village and an easy drive to all Snowdonias attractions.

I've been fortunate enough to own Glanrhyd Cottage for approximately seven years. I have been visiting this area for many years and instantly fell in love with the ruin and always hoped to own it, so when the owners offered it to me I jumped at the chance. It has been a labour of love as the cottage was a complete wreck when we purchased it with a tree growing inside, we spent two years restoring it with a lovely local traditional builder.

We are approximately 30 minutes drive from the nearest beach


The nearest village is just a couple of short miles away and can be easily walked to from the cottage.

Further Details:

Directly in front of the cottage is a well-known pool which tends to hold sea trout and salmon (depending on time of year), occasionally it might be possible to fish but this is subject to the consent of the fishing rights holders. All fishing is subject to arrangement and a charge of twenty five pounds for the day, there is also plenty of other fishing in the area we suggest purchasing day tickets through the local angling club in Betws Y Coed and we would be pleased to offer you advice. The fishing is subject to availability and must be booked and paid for in advance. You will be required to purchase a national rod licence, visit the environment agency website for more details.

Booking Notes:
We take bookings from Saturday to Saturday but depending on availability we are happy to accommodate short breaks and weekends wherever possible. We require a completed booking form and designated deposit and full payment 6 weeks prior to your arrival. We refund your deposit at the end of your stay.

Changeover Day:
Our preferred changeover day is Saturday however we will try to be flexible. Arrival is usually after 4pm and departure before 10am.

Notes on prices:
Prices quoted are for 2 people sharing. Discounts are available for solo travellers and couples using one bedroom only.

When cottage is booked for 2 people sharing one bedroom, the second bedroom is locked.

  • Outside: The outdoor space is enclosed and includes purpose built barbecue area with all utensils. There are a few seating areas outside including on the patio area and down by the river. There is plenty of enclosed off-street parking available next to the cottage. Utility Room: Washing machine/ tumble drier Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and lined are included, both changed once per week.
