Villa in Quinta do Anjo, Palmela, Azeitao, Lisbon Coast, Portugal - Peaceful Location Within 20 Minutes Drive From Beach And 30 Minutes From Lisbon

The villa is of modern design accommodating open space living downstairs with well designed natural lighting features and excellent views of the golf course. It is located in a great position within the village well away from the centre making it private and quiet.

The property has air conditioning throughout plus wifi, cable TV and DVD. Each bedroom has it's own en-suite bathroom and balcony. There is an outdoor private swimming pool and landscaped gardens. There is a parasol and barbecue, sun loungers and outdoor dining table with 6 chairs.

There is an abundance of wild-life to observe notably a wide variety of birds as well as the occasional small lizard.

The villa is located within a gated golf complex on the edge of a traditional Portuguese village. The majority of residents within the complex are Portuguese nationals and this is their permanent residence, although there are number of properties like ours which are holiday homes owned by a variety of nationalities.

About David & Heidi Bottomley

Our names are David and Heidi and we live in North Yorkshire.We have holidayed in this Villa in Palmela village with our children ( the youngest of whom is 8) and parents for the last 7 years. We enjoy the home from home feel, and very quickly relax into our holidays there. The children enjoy the private pool and in the evening we enjoy visiting the clubhouse or watching a movie at home.

We like the position of our villa overlooking the 4th green and the 5th tee and one of the golf course's lakes.

We have regular drives into Lisbon and regular visits to the many great beaches in the area.

Depending on your mood you can drive into Lisbon where there are many interesting places to visit in the day or evening.

Alternatively drive south or west and spend the day at one of many beautiful beaches in the area.

There are numerous interesting towns and villages to explore nearby and of course many high quality golf courses in the Lisbon area including a pretty course in which the villa sits.

What makes this villa unique

This villa is internally very striking with wonderful natural lighting. It has all the modern conveniences that would be required, so if you fancy staying at home for the day you can relax inside or out.

Our villa is well away from the centre of the village and so is both quiet and private. In our opinion it is in one of the best locations within the village

Notes on accommodation: Landscaped garden. The villa is relatively secluded. The flooring is tiled on the ground floor and stairs, with wood flooring on the upper floor. The swimming pool is 1.5 metres deep throughout and therefore is not suitable for diving. Small children should be accompanied at all times in the vicinity of the pool. There is a parking bay for 2 vehicles. Outside: Private swimming pool 1.5 metres deep with outside shower. Landscaped gardens with raised decking area. Lovely Villa

We had a lovely 10 night holiday in this villa, 3 adults and 2 15 year old girls. The villa is very spacious, 3 nice, large bedrooms all ensuite and all with very comfortable beds, plenty of wardrobe storage space for all of us girls.

The villa was spotlessly clean on our arrival. 10 minute drive into town to supermarkets and restaurants - can highly recommend the Tapas bar by the castle, food was so good we went twice.

Although we only cooked one evening meal in the villa, the kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we needed. Could maybe do with a roller blind in the kitchen as it was unbelievably hot in the afternoons.

The outside pool and deck area was lovely and spacious, plenty of shade if you wanted to escape the sun.

All in all, very happy with our choice of holiday villa for 2017.

Beautiful spacious villa.

We really enjoyed our stay, the villa is much more spacious than it looked in the photos. Very clean and stylish. It was a little tricky to find your way around inside the resort, and our satnav kept trying to take us down roads that were closed off, but it's not too hard once you have worked it out. Perhaps sending out a better map with the arrival notes might help.

There were a few problems with water pressure falling and the boiler not working, which we reported to Rita who dealt with it very efficiently. There were a few issues with the new pump but Rita was easy to get in touch with and spoke excellent English.

The kitchen was well equipped with everything we possibly wanted and we did a lot of cooking rather than eat out, the only thing missing was a corkscrew! I expect this may have gone missing?

There are quite a few ants around so we bought a few pods pf ant killer and were very careful to not leave food out, not a problem if you are on top of it, but would advise to pick up some ant killer on your first trip to the shops.

There are a few supermarkets locally that are very easy to get to and have lots of choice and are reasonably priced.

The pool is excellent, a really good size and gets lots of sun. All of the rooms have great balconies and blinds to keep them cool, the air con was great too.

A very comfortable stay, we would definitely reccommend. Thank you.

Owner's Response: Dear Vicki, We're glad that you enjoyed your stay. We have a favoured way to go to the house via the Vasco de Gama bridge but the Sat Nav sometimes suggests going over the Apri 25th bridge which we assume may be slightly quicker. After all the years we have been coming we still use the Sat Nav from Lisbon and let it direct us via the fastest route. If you put Quinta do Anjo in the Sat Nav it should take you to one of the 2 entrances to the resort. We have installed the water tank now and this should address any short term water supply issues to the resort. As you say, the ants occasionally need to know where is out of bounds for them. Yes, our corkscrew has gone. We will replace. Thanks for the kind comments about the villa. We hope to make further improvements to the exterior of the building and the garden in the coming months and the resort is under new management so we would hope to see improvements in the resort itself over the coming months also. If you and your family wished to visit again you would of course be very welcome. Best wishes David and Heidi

Lovely Villa

We had a lovely 2 week stay in the villa. First impressions from the road were good and the pool looked (and is) really nice. We liked the space, the fixtures and fittings, the cleanliness and everything worked (and the aircon too). Rita was very attentive and a really useful person to have around in case of problems with the villa. Our only recommendation to the owners would be fitting a blind in the kitchen and maybe in the sitting room so you have the option of shutting the sun out. There is a great 'Continent' supermarket within 5 mins drive. A car is essential as there aren't any local shops or restaurants in walking distance (even the clubhouse on site is a fair walk from the villa). Our favourite restaurant was near the castle in Palmela, called the Culto Cafe - amazing views over Palmela and good place to watch the sunset (we booked online and got 30% off the bill!). We found Setubal and Sesimbra nice places to visit and they also had a good selection of shops. Lisbon was an easy 50 minute drive with a Toll of 2.75 euro and parking all day for 6 euro (at the railway station).

fabulous holiday property

my husband and i and three teenagers have just come back from a terrific 9 night stay at the villa. the house had everything you could need and was really comfortable. the pool was the highlight for us as the kids loved it and were in it day and night! we spent a lot of time at the house and really relaxed, using the BBQ in the evenings. A car is essential as the villa is a 10 minute drive to the well stocked supermarket, in the nearby village of Quinto do Anjo. Another few minutes drive takes you to Palmela and some great restaurants. we found Portugal to be delightfully inexpensive with a coffee costing about 80c and meals out for us with starter, main course and wine around 70 -80 euros. the club house on site didn't have music at the weekends and we only ate lunch there on arrival. the villa is one of maybe over a hundred ( some unoccupied and obviously victims of recession )on this gated golfcourse site and the golf course itself is barely noticeable, but this did not take away from the wonderfully relaxing holiday we had. on one day we took a taxi costing 60E each way , booked by club house reception, to historical part of Lisbon which was easier for us than train and underground with the kids , but not to be missed...great city, so much to see. Overall it was quiet and relaxing... we hardly met any other English speaking people!

Excellent villa

Overall the villa was of a good standard - very modern , spacious and clean. Only minor fault with the villa itself was that the outside poolside furniture needs replacing since some items were damaged. Good location for catching train to Lisbon - train station about 10 mins drive away and the journey takes about 30 mins.On site we used the clubhouse several times for coffee and evening meals. The area though lacks good quality restaurants - most are café type outlets which were fine , but we did have to search quite a bit for a good quality restaurant. Just one note about the complex itself - it would help to receive some kind of security pass to go in and come out of the complex. Because we were not allocated one , we had to give our villa name and surname on every occasion we either left or entered the site !

Superb Villa

A superb villa with all the comforts of home. The owners seemed to have thought of everything! Set on the edge of a very peaceful traditional Portuguese village. The local people are very welcoming and went out of their way to help us on a number of occasions.We recommend a car to really appreciate and explore the area, although there are a couple of ways of getting into Lisbon by public transport. Lisbon Zoo is easily accessed by public transport and for those with children is well worth a visit. There are a number of good restaurants in the area. Our children particularly liked Chicos a very reasonable Italian restaurant. We were travelling with two teenagers who loved it and found the wi-fi in all areas an excellent means of staying in touch with their social lives! Rita was lovely and very helpful.
