Fabulous luxury villa

  • 5 of 5

OK there's just the two of us, but wouldn't stay anywhere else now after Laynie's superb villa.

Would recommend Casa Quatro to anyone, especially with a family. The upstairs accommodation is virtually self-contained meaning a degree of privacy (peace?) for the adults😀

Exactly as described but with a recently refurbished main shower room. Jennie and Harry keep the place immaculate and Ken can sort out TV, pool and most other things! Pool is out of this world with large number of comfortable loungers and a great shaded eating/relaxing area. Free Wi-Fi and a library that any guest can add to. Two substantial fridges, freezer, iron, ironing board and fully equipped kitchen.

Loads of great restaurants nearby. Cannot recommend this highly enough.

Fantastic Villa in a good quiet location. Ideal for striking out to explore the Algarve.

We had an ace time at the Villa. The pool had loads of use and the air con was much appreciated come sleep time. Well equipped including lots of games. Only thing it lacked was a coffee machine.

Summer 2015 family holiday

  • 5 of 5

The villa is modern and well equipped with everything you need. It is very spacious and easily accommodates 9 people throughout the villa

One bedroom has air conditioning and I believe the owner is intending on putting AC in the remaining bedrooms, not a major issue, but some evenings were very warm especially in the upstairs bedrooms.

There’s plenty of beach items stored within the villa and are free for all to use.

The location is well suited to those who want a more rural Portuguese setting away from the main resorts. The villa itself is situated in the hills so it can be quite breezy which is ideal during the day but the evenings can be a little on the cool side, not an issue if you have a fleece or something to keep the chill at bay, this was only on some evenings.

It’s essential to have a car as the village of Paderne is the only place you can realistically walk to.

If you have a car then there’s plenty to do within 20-30 minutes drive.

There is one very good restaurant within walking distance which we dined at regularly but you will have to drive to visit any others, again, not an issue as it’s something we always do.

Overall, a very enjoyable visit to Portugal and I would definitely recommend if you want a more rural area away from the commercial resorts.

Relaxing, amazing!

  • 5 of 5

This villa is just as described in the writing. It is set in an idyllic peaceful setting. The village of Paderne is well away from the hub bub and chaos of the classic nightlife scene so ideal for families and those who would like rest, relaxation and privacy.

The villa is excellently equipped and we were really well looked after thanks to Jennie and Harry.

Correspondence with the owners was efficient, friendly and through.

Thank you for allowing us into your holiday home

Gets better every time!

  • 5 of 5

This was the third time we had stayed here, it is a very nice, well maintained property, light and airy, cool in the day, all of the windows are fitted with fly screens, very useful at night time, well situated with lovely views, quiet and not overlooked by any other buildings with farm land to the rear.

The pool is a good size with the surrounding area tiled and has sun loungers, chairs, tables and more than enough space to not be crowded, a sheltered area to escape the heat of the day, if you want to, yet be able to stay outside to enjoy the sun, which is there from first thing in the morning till late afternoon/early evening, we had all our meals at the villa out here.

There are good restaurants in Paderne, with a good choice of good food that is very reasonably priced, all are children friendly.

There are plenty of things to do depending on what you want from your holiday, in Albufeira there is the strip with lots of Disco bars a lively place, to old town which is a bit more subdued and has a street market every day, to the various water parks (we spent nearly 2 days in one of them) and other attractions aswell as the beaches.

This time our daughter, son-in law and granddaughter (she was 3+ at the time)came with us as well, who all want to go back again!

We really do look forward to going again as we have had such good holidays here and find something new every time.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Portugal has some of the most spectacular beaches in Europe, and the best of these are only a short drive fromthe villa. Albufeira is just 15 minutes drive away and from here you can take your pick from the secluded to the bustling, the Algarve has it all. Plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, entertainment as well as opportunity to break from the crowd and enjoy the extreme beauty of the coastal environment.

Travel:

Guests tend to fly into Faro airport, hire a car there and then drive up the A22 to Paderne, which is a 40 minute drive. Driving from Lisbon or Seville airport takes about 3 hours. There is a bus between Albufeira and Paderne but access to your own car is pretty essential if staying in Paderne

Distances:

The centre of Paderne is about 2km away from the villa, where there is a mix of eateries, a bank, chemist and other local shops. There are also a couple of snack bars on route to the centre. Albufeira is 15 minutes drive away. There are plenty of small towns in between, such as Ferreiras with a supermarket. Algarve shopping, a huge Hypermarket at Guia is about 20 minutes drive away. Paderne is very well located for further excursions both along the coast and inland.

Further Details:

The area around the villa is well worth exploring on foot, or, if you are feeling energetic, by bike, since there are some lovely old farmhouses and orchards to admire as well as an old Moorish Castle to discover, and a water mill and windmill. There are some small shops and snack bars close to the villa, but a longer stroll down into Paderne will reward you with a pretty church and square as well as some good restaurants, a nice bakery (with delicious custard tarts) and other amenities. There is a first of the month Saturday market in Paderne. The towns and villages close to Paderne are also charming and worth a ‘coffee-stop’: a very large Wednesday morning Market takes place in Quarteira, and a Sunday market at Ferregudo. Further afield there is much to admire both along the spectacular coastline and higher up in the impressive Monchique Mountains.
