We had a lovely holiday and the cottage made a perfect base. Very close to a dog friendly beach which meant fun for all the family!

A beautiful cottage with character and felt more like a home than a holiday let.

  • 5 of 5

We had a perfect idyllic week at Rosemundy Cottage.

We were made to feel very welcome and at ease by Jon and Anne. A nice touch was our welcome package of scones, cream and Jam and a bottle of wine. There was even doggy chews!

The cottage was equipped with everything we needed plus home comforts, was clean, very comfortable beds (important after a long day!) and had a lovely garden for us and our dog. We made use of the barbecue hut with family that visited, which easily sat 10 of us. We had a great evening around the fire.

Location was perfect for us with Porthkidney beach a 10 min walk . Our 2 children loved the Easter egg hunt in Anne's woods which is 5 mins away. They loved going back there a few times to play on rope swings and build dens. Our dog also loved exploring the woods!

There is the Badger Inn, train station and bus stop all within 5 mins walk. Perfect cottage in a perfect location. Thank you, we will be back!!

Lovely home from home

  • 5 of 5

A lovely cottage set in a nice little village. Very close to dog friendly all year beach and a nice walk into St. Ives which is about 3 miles away which the dog loved (especially as he ended up doing it 3 times in four days). Also close to a nice golf course which my Son ended up playing a rounnd on. The cottage was very olde worlde and was well kitted out with a lovely little garden. If I could change just one thing it would be a door on the en-suite bathroom. A bit challenging with another adult in tow sometimes. However, there is a downstairs toilet and shower with the property. The fact that we liked it so much that we definitely would all consider coming again (and that includes the dog).

A lovely place to get away too

  • 5 of 5

What can I say other than that Rosemundy cottage is a home from home. This is our second stay at Rosemundy having previously been here in September 2016 and we couldn't wait to return. As on our previous visit we received a warm welcome from both Jon the owner and his collie 'Bella' who gets on great with our own collie. We found the cottage clean, cosy and very relaxing and the welcome pack of scones, and wine was well received . A nice new addition to the cottage was a small spirits bar with an honesty box - I sampled a few whiskeys without hesitation. As a village Lelant is beautiful. Lined with character cottages throughout. I would happily live here and its proximity to the coast (5 mins walk to Porthkidney beach) is very convenient along with the 50 yard walk to the Badger inn public house which serves great food and good beer.

All in all myself, my wife and my Border collie thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely make a return visit. Thank you Jon and Anne for making our stay a pleasant one.

Character 2 bed cottage perfect for a family of 4

  • 5 of 5

This review is a little late but hopefully better late than never. We stayed here for a week in August 2016 with our two kids, 6 and 8. We found the location excellent for the beach (which is an easy 5/7 minute walk down a quiet road) to the entrance of a pathway which is then another 5 minute walk down to the beach. Our kids did not find the walk difficult at all and we found neighbours who were out and about very friendly and polite, greeting us on our way past.

We had great weather and as a family spent plenty of time swimming in the sea and in the river (bear in mind that the river has a very strong tide and is not suitable for small kids) The sea however is fab. I brought my spearfishing gear and met a fellow spearo as well, but unfortunately there was not much about fish wise.

The cottage has everything you need and we loved the picnic basket with some wine, scones and other goodies. We cooked in the kitchen every evening and found everything we needed. We used the gas barbecue a few times as well and enjoyed chilling in the garden watching the birds. The cottage itself was perfect as a base to travel to St Ives which we did twice via the train running along the coast. Easily done. We loved the cottage feel and found it very homely. We found the owners very friendly and John was happy to help with any questions about visiting the local area.

Would i recommend it.....? YES.

Richard, Edyta & family..
