About the Owner

Owner Anne has been in the wonderful area of St Ives Bay for four years whilst working in Truro.

Rosemundy Cottage was my first home in the area before buying next door with my partner Jon so we now live in the other half of the semi-detached cottage.

Lovely little cottage in Lelant

  • 5 of 5

Upon arriving at Rosemundy Cottage, myself and my wife were greeted by Jon the owner and their lovely Collie 'Bella' who gave us a warm welcome, bottle of wine and enough scones to keep us happy on our stay. We immediately loved the place- is was quaint, clean , cosy and above all homely and we felt at immediately relaxed and at ease. It's location is excellent and is only 5 mins walk from the estuary and train station, or just 10 mins walk to the beach - an hours costal walk will take you right into St Ives.

A mere 50 yards from Rosemundy Cottage is the Badger Inn public house. This is a very nice and welcoming pub with lovely food and atmosphere.

Dogs are welcome at Rosemundy and our Collie 'Kira' immediately made friends with Bella and thoroughly enjoyed her stay too. Being dog friendly is a must for us and private garden is great for that 1st mornings freedom for any dog visitor.

We will definitely be making a return visit to Rosemundy, and would wholeheartedly recommend it to family and friends.

A lovely cottage, managed by lovely owners .

Owner's Response: It was so nice to welcome some really appreciative visitors and their lovely well behaved dog - so unlike the previous week visitors.

Extremely disappointed

  • 1 of 5

The property appeared clean but on closer inspection I noted that the carpet was stained in several areas, the glasses on the shelves in the kitchen had not been washed, the saucepans still had baked on food in them and the oven was not clean.

The property was also in disrepair, the downstairs toilet was leaking, the shower door did not fit, there was black mould under the sink and plaster was coming off the walls. The bedroom walls were so damp I had to ask the owners to provide bedding for the twin bedroom as the damp made the bedding so wet and we could not sleep in the room.

My biggest concern was safety as the fire extinguisher was out of date (destruction date 2003)

I would not recommend this property

Owner's Response: This visitor arrived on an afternoon of one of the heaviest periods of rain and had a particularly wet week - our only surprise on the review is that his list is not longer as he appeared to moan about everything - even the wine as part of the welcome pack was refused as he had brought his own. We can only apologise for providing a 1840's character cottage as described, pictured and priced accordingly on the site, enjoyed by so many previous guests and not the ultra modern, all mod cons they were looking for. Ps the minor leak was clean water from the overflow and our cleaner reported that the wet bed linen had miraculously dried completely by the changeover!!!!!

Lovely cottage and location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Rosemundy. We found everything we needed in the lovely cottage and it was convenient for our dog too with the garden. The cottage was very comfortable and the location is ideal. We were made to feel so welcome and will definitely be back!

Lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

A great welcome with cream scones and wine and even something for the dog. The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed. Comfy beds too.

The cottage is a short walk to the beautiful church at the top of the hill which leads down to a great beach with lovely views. The dog loved it!

We took the scenic train to St Ives which was a short and enjoyable journey. The train station being a 10 minute walk away. There is the option of the park and ride.

A pub with good food is a stones throw away and the Watermill is also within walking distance. (That was my favourite)

All in all a great cottage in a good location. The owners were very helpful and thoughtful.

Well appointed, friendly land lords, great Location

  • 4 of 5

This was a pleasant stay. The cottage had everything required and was a great location. Basically a short walk (5-10mins depending which stop you walk to) to the coastal train that takes you to places like St Ives, but you get the peace and tranquility (and no car Parking issues of St Ives). The cottage is a 5 - 10 min walk to a nice beach and has a garden.

Lovely, homely cottage

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this cottage last week and found it to be lovely and homely. It is only 5 mins from the beach which is pet freindly and also has a coastal path to the centre St Ives, and only about 10 mins walk from the train station. The onwers live next door so are on hand in case of any problems, they also delivered a cream tea and a bottle of wine as we arrived on the Saturday which we thought was a lovely gesture and very much appreciated. There is a pub serving great food about 2 mins walk away, We would highly recommend this property, we will be going back.
