This part of Dorset, in particular Eype and its surrounding countryside is the perfect place to live. We overlook the sea and the wonderful coastline, we are secluded with no roads beyond our house, just our track yet we can be in Bridport in six minutes which is a vibrant, alive, artsy market town with numerous cafes, and restaurants yet still withholding a scruffy arty living feel about it.
The sea and beaches of course are another bonus and the surrounding NT countryside great for walks
The property is rural, quiet backed by woodland overlooking the sea at the end of a track. You really are secluded, very close to the cliffs and beaches and this really is an amazing spot, probably one of very few on the coastline.
We offer special winter break discounts and february half term bargain.
The house was perfect. Not your ordinary bland holiday let. It is cosy warm, art everywhere, incredible views over the sea, much more spacious and gorgeous than we imagined. Veronica was great and took our children to see her sheep and was so helpful we loved it
I cannot see how to post the stars but if i could i would post five stars
We arrived on a cold windy night to be welcomed by Veronica the owner who couldnt have been more friendly and kind, the log fire was lit and the house was warm and cosy. It is such a wonderful house, nestled close to the sea with woodland behind and incredible views The house was so much more spacious than we imagined with great art on the walls, huge kitchen with aga . It is so special to be able to walk straight from the house across three fields onto the beach, perfect for our young children. I highly recommend this as a proper seaside holiday home with everything it says it has,. a good find.
We had a really great week here, it is an amazing, unique house in a lovely location. Spacious quirky (in a good way) house with loads of character ideally located for local beaches, Bridport and Lyme Regis. Lovely walk to Seatown right from the door.
The problem I have with this property is the access road. It is really bad. It's a very rutted track that means driving for 15 mins in first gear with the brambles scratching the side of the car trying to avoid massive potholes. This is not the fault of the owner, but not to mention it in the description is a problem for me. If you have a 4x4 you'll be fine (except it will get scratched by brambles) if you have a normal family car you'll have your heart in your mouth every time you drive to or from the property.
A truly wonderful holiday destination. With the feeling of a remote farmhouse, it was a short walk across sheep fields to the cliff edge, and a few minutes longer to one of the hill tops or in the other direction the wonderful beach at Eype, however, only a short drive from the creature comforts of Bridport.
Veronica was extremely welcoming to us. We arrived on Good Friday, the same day as some of the new lambs to her flock. The following day our children were able to feed one of them, and Veronica set up a little Easter Egg hunt for them. The lambs were a wonderful highlight to our holiday, and there were tears from the youngest members of our crew as we said farewell to them. The farm along the track sold us our meat for our stay, all reared within a few fields of the table it ended up on.
The views from this house are so stunning. It is quite a find, and with easy access to the rest of the Jurassic Coast. If you did not have a 5yr old and 3yr old in tow, most of the local sites would be within easy walking distance across wonderful farm land.
A host of yummy eateries nearby including The Hive at Burton Bradstock, a particular fave of ours. Bridport has everything from antiques markets, a butchers, bread store to supermarkets. The A&E in only half an hour away if you have an accident prone child as we do :-).
A very beautiful part of the world to stay.
