My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautifully decorated cottage. Nigel made us feel very welcome and even provides tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival - little finishing touches that made a real difference to us.
The cottage was spotless, beautifully decorated and had all the mod cons anyone could possibly need.
We enjoyed our stay so much that my family were sad to leave.
Thanks Nigel! We had a fantastic stay.
Thank you Nigel and Steph for a lovely stay at your beautiful oak framed barn . We had a wonderful hack out with Steph on her well behaved horses. Walks were literally from the door step out onto the moors then down to the lake in the afternoon for a pub lunch at one of the pubs by the lake. The lake has water sports available and the walk around the lake is very pleasant and easy going. The barn was gorgeous, great design, lovely and clean, warm and had everything you need. Views were far reaching , with wild deer in the field, pheasants and much more.Nigel was very really helpful and and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend this as stay for anyone wanting an affordable escape to the country, but near enough to rail and motorway links to get you to Manchester or Leeds for that shopping fix. Great people, great stay, thanks.
Thank you Nigel and Steph for a lovely stay at your oak framed barn. What a gorgeous building it is. Warm and comfortable and very clean, the views were great, we saw wild deer in the front field with the horses, pheasants and all sorts of wild life. We had a lovey walk from the door step to the moors and back down for a pub lunch at the lake. Steph took me for a hack out on her friendly well trained horses. Nigel was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend this for an affordable escape to the country.
The house was newly built and was very warm and modern. There is a hall, living room, dining room, kitchen & shower room/wc on the ground floor and 2 large bedrooms with large en-suites upstairs.
The floors in the bedrooms & en-suites are very creaky so it's noisy for others if one is up through the night. Chairs in the bedrooms would be nice and there were no dressing table mirrors or full length mirrors and no shaver points.
The downside of this property is the setting, in a ramshackle farmyard with all sorts of stuff lying around and other buildings being repaired/built. It was a good bit down a potholed track, then through a caravan storage area to get to the property, so I wouldn't recommend it for a holiday, it's not very scenic, we were just staying in the area on business in Manchester. The house seemed incongruous in the midst of a yard. The owner came into the property while we were out (as he is entitled to do of course).
