About the property

Villa in beautiful countryside with amazing views and large pool in Villespassans near St Chinian.

Situated in a vineyard location with stunning views, our gite offers a unique holiday experience in the heart of the Languedoc-Roussillon. Situated 10km (10mins) from the buzzing town of St Chinian where you can enjoy the local weekly market on Thursdays and Sundays. From Combebelle it is possible to visit places of interest including the medieval Cathar town of Minerve, Pézenas, Béziers, Narbonne, Montpellier, Perpignan, Carcassonne and Gruissan. The beaches around Beziers, Gruissan, Narbonne and Sete are around an hour away. For the more adventurous, there is a riding school in Assignan (10mins), kayaking on the River Orb & Hérault (20mins), swimming in the river at Bize (10mins) or Roquebrun (20mins), sailing on the étang in Marseillan (1 hour). A bit further out you can head up into the National Park of Haut Languedoc towards St Pons which is a spa town where people used to get their drinking water, and still do in some cases.

About SCEA Chateau Combebelle

Catherine & Patrick Keohane - we decided to buy Combebelle in 2005 to realise my childhood dream of making wine in France! We have since gone on to produce many thousands of award-winning wine which have been exported all over the world. In 2012 we decided to reduce the wine production side of things and focus more on the "boutique" wine side of the business. We have also planted 90 olive trees which we hope will produce some interesting oils and cocktail olives for those partial to a martini or two!

We have spent a lot of time and investment in improving the property over the years to make this not only a home but a wonderful peaceful and comfortable place for our guests to enjoy.

SCEA Chateau Combebelle purchased this villa in 2005

Why SCEA Chateau Combebelle chose Herault

We both decided that the South of France would offer us the kind of lifestyle we were looking for. It has all the amenities and accessibility for those coming from abroad making it an ideal location for us.

Combebelle offered a peaceful location with the most incredible views, as well as an organic vineyard and the possibility to expand or change if we so desired.

Catherine knew the area previously as a wine buyer and felt that St Chinian would offer her both a challenge and interesting prospect in which to produce wine.

What makes this villa unique

Combebelle is located in the heart of the countryside with the most amazing views of the sea and mountains. Combebelle allows our guests to wind down and relax whilst leaving their busy lives behind for the week or two they come and visit.

We have a lovely large pool with terrace overlooking the beautiful landscape where guests can relax and cool down.

Combebelle offers an escape!

Calme et beauté du site

  • 4 of 5

We are surrounded by wonderful countryside including our own vineyard and olive grove. Our neighbours have a well known goat farm where you can sample their organic cheeses and see the goats being milked in the afternoon - a must for families with small children!

There are plenty of water activities nearby and cycling (bike rental in St Chinian is brilliant), hiking and mountaineering for those more adventurous.

For the "foodie" there is the local market in St Chinian on Thursday and Sunday as well as Les Halles in Narbonne (open every day apart from Monday).

We can arrange a wine tour for those interested in learning more about the wines of the region or we can arrange for you to visit some local wineries if you prefer.
