The Old Shop is situated in the picturesque village of Holymoorside, on the edge of the Peak District and Chatsworth Estate and only a short drive to the historic market town of Chesterfield. Holymoorside sits in a valley surrounded by open field and woodland ideal for walkers or cyclists. There are two pubs, The Lamb for the real ale enthusiast, and The Bulls Head for lunchtime and evening meal. There is also a village shop for local produce and newspapers.

The cottage is beautifully finished inside, and extremely cosy and comfortable. We felt right at home as soon as we arrived. Perfect distance to drive into the Peak District for walking and plenty of amenities nearby. Trudie was very helpful and responsive before and throughout our stay. The perfect little break! Would definitely recommend.
Everything was spotlessly clean, well organised and welcoming. A delightful place to say, very comfortable and relaxing. We look forward to returning
We were over in the Peaks for an ultra marathon and we're looking for somewhere close by to stay. We stumbled upon the 'old shop cottage' on the internet by accident.
The photos certainly didnt do this little gem justice. It was cosy, but very comfortable. It was very clean, tidy and felt so homely. The charm and character of the place really made the weekend.
Oh and after running for 6 six hours the bed was a dream.
Location was fantastic, close to Chesterfield but right next to the Peaks and Chatsworth House.
Check in and check was made easy by the owners, who were themselves very friendly and helpful.
Overall a fantastic little cottage ideal for exploring the Peak District and the surrounding area. If your looking for somewhere with a charm of its own, but with the comforts of an expensive hotel, then I'd highly recommend this beautiful cottage.
lovely cottage- well appointed and tastefully decorated. Enjoyed my stay.
The property was finished to a very high standard a great setting, really a great find, only negative comment a touch expensive but otherwise couldn't fault it the owner was handy friendly and ready to help.
Would highly recommend this to all. Me & my boyfriend stayed for 2 lovely nights. The pictures do not do this place justice (there is a new couch as well!) It had everything we needed, some great personal touches, you can tell this place means a lot to someone & is well loved, it is absolutely spotless too. Loved that you can see 2 great pubs from the windows too! Would recommend both, all staff & locals super friendly. Great place to get away & recharge. We travelled from Manchester & it was also such a beautiful drive over x
