Why Magdalena Portella Del Carmen chose Mahon

I felt in love with the views, as you can see for how much I mention the views in the advert! The apartment is in an excellent location, right in the Harbor!!!!

In Menorca you need to drive everywhere, public transportation is not the best, so driving to the beach is a must if you want to see the best beaches is Menorca, but at night, the Port has the best restaurants and bars to offer, you can party as late as you want and walk home!!!!! No need to drive!!! That's why I love the location!!!! The apartment is very well suited for four friends or a family of four, you can easily keep it clean and tidy. The walking distance to the downtown area is short with amazing harbor views, you get the best of both worlds, sea view while still being in the biggest city of the island!

What makes this apartment unique

One great feature is parking!!! In summer parking in the Port of Mahon, the harbor, is impossible, but because this apartment has a private entrance, since it is located on the top floor, from the top back of the building! Right there is always parking!

The apartment is located close to the Casino, which has an elevator right next to the parking area, which you can use free of charge if you like to access the Port below!!!

Great Time

Stayed here for a week in June and had a really great time.

Fantastic view from the apartment across the bay with luxury yacht 'Luna' moored right outside for the duration of our stay with every square inch being cleaned and polished by crew members on a daily basis ...we never did find out who was the extremely lucky owner ! Rooftop terrace was great place to relax and enjoy the weather and the numerous restaurants in the area provided a great choice when eating out. Great location with lovely walk along the harbour front into Mahon or you can take the back road from the roof terrace which enables you to take in the fantastic views across the bay.

The only small criticism would be the quality of the outer bedding which whilst clean should really be replaced now as they have seen better days.

Superb holiday location.

I stayed with my wife at this accommodation as we wanted a self catering holiday in Mahon,our favourite part of Menorca. From the outset,Magdalena was very friendly and efficient,answering all our queries promptly.

On our arrival,Magdalena was there to greet us and show us around our accommodation which was very clean and comfortable and on the third floor.It contained all we needed for our stay,including a cooker,large fridge and blissfully for us,air conditioning in the two bedrooms.

The piece de resistance was the absolutely stunning view from the French windows and balcony. In my opinion,this view is the best view in the whole of Mahon harbour, which is one of the most beautiful harbours in the world. It was awe inspiring to see large cruise liners pass within a few hundred yards of our balcony on their way to docking. This along with the myriad of small boats below us and the ever changing light, led us to spend many hours just taking in the breathtaking vista,both day and night.

Below the apartment is a busy road and pavement cafes. This to us added to the 'local' atmosphere which we wanted for our stay in Menorca. The restaurants which line Moll De LLevant offer all kinds of fine dining from tapas and snacks to Menorcan and International dishes to suit all tastes.

There are 49 steps to the apartment so this must be borne in mind.Between us, my wife and I have had three hip replacements and I'm 66,but we found no difficulty.

As we were self catering,we decided to take the local bus into town to the supermarket.The bus fare is 1.70 Euros and takes just a few minutes.We then had a pleasant walk through the beautiful city to the supermarket before walking or taking the bus back. There is also a small general supermarket just a few hundred yards away from the apartment.They do lovely bread,milk and of course bottled water.

We both felt this had been the best holiday we'd had; in fact my wife had a few tears as we left.Magdalena booked our taxi and even offered to collect us from the airport for another night's stay as there was a traffic control strike in France.

Altogether,I highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a central location with stunning views,and which offers a casual relaxing base in which to explore Mahon and Menorca. We are definitely going back next year,hopefully for two weeks.
