A Superbly Presented Cottage, Set In Its Own Garden Looking Out Over The Fields

The cottage was once a stable to our Manor House. It is set in our garden and has a south facing overlooking a paddock with sheep and views of Romney Marsh. Perfectly situated for the beach, Rye and quick transport links to London in the happy commuter train. Interesting church with separate bell tower, part of the well known Romney Marsh Churches. The Royal oak pub is walking distance in the villageLocal garage with papers and emergency food 1 mile away. Supermarket and good High St. 10 minutes drive in Rye or New Romney. Lots of great Kent and Sussex attractions for all the family. Great bike riding on the Marsh routes and good footpaths. Rye has a Chidrens play area and skate park, Rye Golf Club and Rye Tennis Club as well as a number of restaurants, cafes and great shops. We are close to the glorious beaches at Camber Sands, Winchelsea Beach and Hastings. Nearby gardens include Sissinghurst Castle and Great Dixter.

About the Owner

HI, I'm Sally and look after Manor House Stable. We moved with with my family to Brookland 9 years ago and fell in love with it's location on the Marsh and close proximity to the sea. We live nearby in the main house with our two girls and our border terrier. We hope to see you soon.

This is a fab relaxed place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Very simple country property, but with everything you need for a country stay. Great views and only a short walk to a very friendly local pub with excellent food. I was looking after my Granddaughter and invited a friend to join me and my Hungarian Visla, Tigger at the Stable. We visited Rye and Camber Sands and enjoyed Shopping in Unique shops and empty beautiful sandy, shell filled beaches, in that order ; and completely by accident enjoyed the most exquisite lunch in a fab restaurant that I learnt yesterday is Sussex `Life restaurant of the year!

Beautiful location near to loads of good tourist spots

My partner and our daughter enjoyed staying here for 3 nights. We enjoyed taking our 1 year old daughter around some of the local sites and we loved the peace and quiet of the stable. Thanks Sally!

Cosy cottage in beautiful surroundings

  • 5 of 5

The cottage met all our expectations. Great atmosphere, cosy interior with lost of nice details. Nice and clean, with all comfort needed. The view is great, the surroundings are great for walking and cycling. Our five day stay included trips to Tenterden (stream train), Rye city (old town), Brighton, and Bodiam/Leeds castle. A meal at the local pub (Royal Oak) is certainly advisable! Great food in a characteristic building with sunny garden. Afterwards a coffee on the terrace of the cottage is a lovely way to end the day.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

This delightful converted stable is in a great location just 15 mins drive out of Rye. The conversion is very well thought through and sympathetically done. The charm of the stable remains but with all the "mod cons" of a comfortable modern home. Appliances were excellent and tea/coffee and (homemade) cake all supplied.

Lovely peaceful location with views over the fields and a nice little outside space to enjoy the sun and alfresco eating.

Comfortable beds and a shower that works (with decent water pressure).

All lovely and clean.

Great walks and good nearby pubs with excellent food.

The perfect base from which to explore the Kent countryside.

Wonderful location!

  • 5 of 5

A fabulous stable conversion. Cosy but had everything we needed. Very much a country house style.........lovely farmhouse furniture with an old butchers block as a feature. Kept lovely and warm by gas wood burner fire. Was everything we needed. Downstairs bedroom and bathroom were ideal for elderly people. Spring lambs playing in the field next door were a lovely sight to see. will definitely recommend.

Really nice

  • 5 of 5

This barn conversion was great, really peaceful but not too far from the beach or towns. lovely and cosy with some nice touches like a cake, milk and lots of provisions left by the owner whom is available and around should you need it. We all loved it and would definitely return.

Thank You
