Lovely cottage, great location

  • 5 of 5

Millhouse Cottage was the perfect base for our recent holiday in Northumberland. Excellent location for visiting Bamburgh, Holy Island and the surrounding area. We have stayed in many cottages during our 20 years of self catering! But this is on of the best we have stayed in. Very clean, extremely well equipped, comfortable, spacious and a lot of time and effort has gone in to ensuring all needs are catered for.

A delicious home made cake and beautiful flowers greeted us on our arrival. The view over Budle Bay is breathtaking on a summers evening and as keen bird watchers, we couldn't have asked for better, it was the ideal location where we spent many hours relaxing and enjoying the wildlife.

Thank you for making our stay in Northumberland so special, it was very much appreciated and we can't wait to return

A beautiful cottage in a stunning location

  • 5 of 5

Millhouse Cottage is the perfect base from which to explore the stunning Northumberland coast and countryside. The cottage is beautifully presented and the location is fantastic - the views from the master bedroom and lounge are gorgeous and I happily spent many hours just watching the changing tides, weather and wildlife. The cottage is well equipped and there is obvious care and attention to detail to ensure that everything you need for your holiday has been provided. I would have no hesitation recommending Millhouse Cottage and very much hope to be able to stay there again in the future.

Superb Cottage, great location

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed in cottages throughout the UK and Millhouse Cottage is by far one of the best we have stayed in. The location is superb with excellent views over the bay and the cottage is so well equipped. The cottage is so cosy and easily accommodates six adults. Warren Mill is a great location with Bamburgh, Sea Houses, Holy Island, Berwick on the doorstep. If you happen to like watching birds then this is paradise, you dont even have to leave the living room!. We stayed here in September, the sun shone and we sat in the garden on many occasion, it was sad to leave it behind.

Millhouse Cottage, Waren Mill

  • 4 of 5

Our week at Millhouse Cottage was delightful and it certainly lived up to the 4 stars awarded by the British Tourist Board.

The location was as we wanted; within reach of walks, castles and, of course, Hadrian's Wall -- not to be missed even though some of the climbs are stiff and not for the faint-hearted.

The cottage was so well equiped and comfortable that we were inclined to dine at home after our strenuous days out. We would, however, recommend The Lindisfarne Hotel, conveniently close, where we ate on our arrival. The steak and ale pie went down a treat.

We are indebted to Sarah (the owner) for making our first visit to N'umberland so memorable. Many thanks for the delicious ginger cake, the flowers and all the little touches that made Millhouse Cottage such a comfortable stay.

Fantastic location & accomodation

  • 4 of 5

Fantastic location, close to many attractions and yet very peaceful. The cottage is very well equipped, comfortable and clean. The secure and enclosed garden was a real bonus for children to play in and a lovely spot to enjoy a cup of tea. The cottage certainly met our expectations and the homemade cake and fresh flowers were really appreciated!

The coastal castles are all fabulous to experience - Warkworth, Alnwick, Dunstunburgh, Bamburgh and Lindisfarne (on Holy Island). See the puffins on the Farne Islands in May and June. See where they make kippers at Craster. The Cheviot hills are a 40 minute drive from Waren Mill where there are many beautiful walks up the Langleeford and Breamish valleys from Wooler and Ingram.
