About the Owner

Hi, my name is Sarah and I have owned this beautiful farmhouse for 9 years. I finished restoring the Finca, of which part dates back 400 years, 5 years ago. It was designed to be a family home with all the luxuries - no expense spared - of modern day living whilst maintaining all the character of the original Finca. I live in SW London with my two sons age 11 and 8. We have spent many happy holidays at the house which is perfect from Easter through to October half term. My boys love the big pool with its slide, the gardens with their treehouse and their cool TV area for a DVD when the afternoon sun gets too hot (and I hit the pool for some lilo time). I decided to start making the house available for rental for the first time last year and the feedback from customers was excellent.

Great first impression..!

It is a great location and a very well laid out and well spec'd property.

Set in an ideal location, we could not have asked for a better property - and if you are a cyclist, this is perfect for all the major cycle routes in the North West.

The biggest compliment I can pay is "we will be back and we will book this property again"

Just perfect!

We have holidayed in this delightful area numerous times but this is our nicest accommodation by far! Sarah has created a beautiful holiday home with all mod cons (wifi and satellite TV a real hit with our teenagers) along with a lovely big pool and luxurious sunbathing area. Fantastic kitchen! Air-con very welcome too. Most days we lounged by the pool then strolled along the pine walk in the evenings picking out which restaurant we would choose that night to dine in. Can walk to the nearest supermarket in ten minutes and love the arty market in Pollenca old town. We love this area and it is perfect for all ages. Sarah is a very helpful owner and her agent in town was also only to pleased to help. Wish we could spend more time here because it is beautiful.

Location

Mallorca has been a favourite holiday destination of mine since being a child. Naturally when I had my own children I ventured back. The island offers just the right combination of sandy beaches, warm turquoise seas and great food. Pollenca itself offers even more with possibly the most unspoilt old town I have found in Mallorca and being close to the headland a choice of beaches with dramatic mountain backdrops or long horseshoe bays with watersports for every age group catered for. The choice of restaurants be at a beach side cafe bar, like Cappucino; a first rate Italian restaurant in the square, such as Il Giardino; or a fish and tapas bar with beach and mountain views at Cala Sant Vincent, such as Restaurant Cala Barques makes Pollenca a gastro delight!

Special interest holidays:

Pollenca is renowned for its cycling and there are many excellent routes and places to hire bikes from. Alternatively if you prefer to keep your feet on the ground there are many excellent hikes in the area.

Watersports and sailing are obviously key features with sailing schools based at the Port.

There are excellent vineyards in Mallorca and if tasting fine wine, olive oils, salts, bread is your thing then a culinary wine tasting week based here is a good start, including local vineyards C'an Vidalet and Mortitx.

Coast/Beach:

5 min drive to several beaches, including the bays at Cala Sant Vincent and The Pine Walk at Puerto Pollensa.

The stunning pine tree backed beach at Formentor is a 15min drive or use a water taxi from the Port.

Other long sandy beaches can be found at Alcudia and Muro - these are about a 20 min drive.

Travel:

40min door to door by car from Palma airport.

There is ample parking for 4 cars - two at the front driveway and two at the back of the house. The property is gated but these are not (yet…!) electric gates.

Distances:

5 min drive to Pollensa old town with its boutique shops, Sunday market selling fruit, vegetables, meats, olives, flowers, clothes and souvenirs not to mention a great selection of restaurants and the famous Calvari steps.

5min drive to Puerto Pollensa with the marina, sea front restaurants and The Pine Walk.

Further afield at 15min drive the old town of Alcudia is also of interest with more restaurants, its Roman ruins and amphitheatre, watermark, horse riding and go-karting.

Further Details:

The closest supermarkets are Eroski and Lidl next door to each other and just a couple of minutes along the main road from the house. In the old town there are several noteworthy butchers and delicatessens such as Ensenat who will prepare paella, food for parties or just a hot roast chicken for a beach picnic. There is an excellent fishmonger near the late car park in the old town.

Now everyone says there farmhouse is in the best location but I believe this one really is - it is located just back from the main road linking old town Pollenca with the Port of Pollenca (where the long horseshoe, sandy beaches are) at the turn off to Cala Sant Vincent (with its choice of 2 beaches and spectacular mountain backdrops). As such everything you need, including the supermarket is just an easy 5 minute drive, a short cycle ride or alternatively grab a bus from the stop at the end of the road. The Finca is built into the mountain, with terraces on 3 levels, as such it enjoys great views of the area and uninterrupted sunshine on the pool and terraces from 10 until it goes down at 8pm. Perfect for a sundowner with a view.

  • Notes on accommodation: This immaculate property was designed to be an enjoyable Summer home, with light spacious rooms, a designer kitchen and beautiful bathrooms. The outdoor space benefits from a large pool and so many different terraces and gardens you will be spoilt with a choice of places to enjoy a tapas and sangria. Outside: There is a large private pool with a children's slide. The shallow end has curved stone steps for easy access and the deep end is approx 6ft. The terrace surrounding the pool has 5 sun loungers and an outdoor table for 4. Steps lead down to an area with table tennis and basketball. The lounge terrace above the pool has a glass balcony and a modern outdoor sofa with 2 armchairs and 3 coffee tables. This leads to a long garden laid to lawn with a treehouse in the oak tree, perfect for a spot in the shade. The garden and pool lights make this a beautiful area after sun down too. The front of the property has more lawned gardens and terracotta terraces, all with lovely outdoor furniture. The kitchen doors open up fully and lead to an outdoor covered dining area for up to 10 people with a Weber BBQ. Utility Room: The separate utility rooms contains a full height Electrolux fridge - ideal for extra drinks, salads etc. It also houses the Miele washing machine and Miele tumble dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Once a week the property will be cleaned and towels and linen changed. Additional maid service can be provided if requested. Other: All the rooms have been decorated to a high standard with terracotta floors, beams and white washed walls. Due to the thick farmhouse walls they remain cool despite the Summer heat.
