Quinta da Sao Sebastio is located in the village of Alcantarilla just 3k from the lovely seaside resort of Armacao de Pera and 5 minutes from Gale with its gorgeous beaches and restaurants. Quiet and peaceful, yet only 15k drive from the lively but lovely resort of Albufeira. Close to great beaches, fabulous restaurants, Aqualand Water Park and Zoo Marine within 3km and it has the Faldo & O'Connor golf courses of Oceanico Amendoeira on its doorstep. The house has a lovely pool, shared but quiet, a large private terrace, with a built in barbecue to enable you to dine al fresco. The master bedroom upstairs has a huge en suite bathroom and a spacious balcony off it. The villa is ideal for families, with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay. You can enjoy the best of both worlds with this holiday. About Rosemary Byrne

We are two families who are great friends. Both families have two children of the same age, who are now young adults/teenagers and we all remain great friends.

Having spent many years holidaying together all over the world, we decided to settle down and buy this house between us.

This was a partnership that has worked out spectacularly well and we are delighted to share our lovely home with others also

Why Rosemary Byrne chose Alcantarilha

We are two families who bought this property together 11 years ago and have enjoyed and continue to enjoy many great family holidays here.

Our children have now grown up into teenagers and beyond, so we don't get to spend as much time in Portugal as a family as we used to, however, the extra freedom we now have allows us to use the house for golfing trips with friends and fun long weekends.

We have set the house up as a home from home, with all home comforts and its location in a quiet rural village, just 3k from a fabulous seaside resort Armacao de Pera suits us all.

What makes this house unique

The village of Alcantarilha is beautiful. So very quaint, crumbly and typical Portugese. Away from the tourist trail. However, the location is so good, as we are only 3k from the sea with both Armacao de Pera and Gale beaches.

We are about 2k from the golf courses of Armedeiro (Faldo and O'Connor courses) and another 5k from Guia and the largest shopping centre in the Algarve.

If we want a day or night in Albufeira, this is only 10k away.

Our holiday here in July 2011 was fantastic. The Villa and location was way above our expectations. After being blown away with the luxury of the villa, we were greeted outside with the most beautiful pool and gardens. Whether you are here with family to enjoy a quiet holiday or with friends to play some golf, you are guaranteed a fantastic time. The beach,golf club and shopping are only minutes away by car. There is a choice of excellent restaurants locally and the larger town of Albufeira is only minutes away.

Quinta da S.Sebastio is calling us again for 2012. We just cant wait to go back!

Notes on accommodation: Fully fitted kitchen with all mod cons and seating for 6. Great living room, Internet TV, Wireless internet ,DVD player. Two double bedrooms upstairs with large single beds, which can be placed together to make king size doubles. Balconies and en suite bathrooms off both these rooms. Downstairs bedroom with 2 single beds and a bathroom outside the door. This bathroom doubles as the main bathroom during the day. There is air-conditioning in the living room and all the bedrooms. The back of the house enjoys fabulous sunshine all day, but even so, the house remains lovely and cool Outside: Shared Pool and beautiful communal garden. Gated community of 9 spacious Town Houses Terrace with barbecue and full dining suite. Small private garden which can be closed off for small children. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and Linen provided. - Please bring your own beach and pool towels. A two week stay - includes towel and linen change at end of 1st week. Other: Very large basement downstairs to house pool toys, suitcases etc

Lovely, comfortable property, in a peaceful village

The property is beautiful with spotless, spacious rooms which are well equipped. Beds and sofas were very comfortable and the three bathrooms very welcome. The outside space is ideal for those with young children as there is a big lawn and lots of shaded patio space. The built in BBQ and comfortable seating makes outdoor eating fun. In the evening sitting on the huge balcony off the main bedroom with it's view of the pool and illuminated grounds was delightful.

The pool is very close and was beautifully maintained but still a little cool at the beginning of June. The gardens are really pretty, well maintained and ideal for little ones.

There is a large TV with internet channels but the wi-fi speed was variable for that, however it was perfectly adequate for i phones and tablets.

The village has two restaurants which are a 5 to 10 minute walk away and the food at both was really good and reasonably priced.

It was a10 minute drive to Armacao de Mar beach which had lovely soft sand and plenty of restaurants. We also visited the gypsy market at Quarteira which had plenty of bargains.

The journey from the airport was about 35 minutes and quite straightforward once you hit the M125 & A22 toll road.

Rosemary was very helpful and responded quickly and efficiently to all requests and communications. Her agent onsite was very thorough and helpful despite our midnight arrival!

If you want a lively holiday without driving this is probably not for you but if you are looking for peace and tranquility in comfortable surroundings it's ideal.

Portugese gem

The villa was really very good with everything you could need, with a beautiful pool set in tranquil gardens. The villa was very clean and the gardens beautifully maintained with lots of useful information in the villa on places to visit. We particularly liked visiting Silves and Lagos which had more historical buildings and we would say a car is essential if you want to explore anywhere other than the town of Alcantarilha. Only one set of house keys were supplied which was tricky as our teenage kids didn't always do what we were doing and another set would have helped, especially as this property can accommodate 6 people.

I would definitely recommend this property and found the owner to be very helpful and speedy in any responses.

A really relaxing holiday and only a short distance to travel from the airport.

The pictures on the website do not do this property justice, it is so much better, it's comfortable, very clean, modern, stocked with everything you could require and it's extremely quiet. The location is great, walking distance to shops ( Aldi for food, The Bazzar for everything) restaurants, a selection of 3 in the town. A few miles down the road is the beach and seaside town with huge selection of restaurants, the other direction and there is a selection of Golf courses and the water park. 15 minutes by car and you are in Alburera passing Aqualand and the biggest shopping centre in the Algarve on the way.

I could not recommend this property highly enough.

We really loved your condo. The place is roomy and well situated. We loved the 'back yard' with the pool and grass. However, we expected the house to be spotless (no smudges, dust or spider webs).

Schönes Reihenhaus in ruhiger Lage. Sehr gute Ausstattung, es ist alles vorhanden was man zum Wohlfühlen braucht. Der Garten mit Pool ist traumhaft angelegt und sehr gepflegt. Alles ist sehr schnell erreichbar, wundervolle Strände, Städte, Flughafen, Supermarkt ... Wir verbrachten eine wunderschöne, erholsame Woche an der Algarve. Wir können die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Nice terrace house in a quite area. Very good facilities, it is all existing to feel very comfortable.

The garden including the pool is wonderful and well kept. Everything is very fast reachable, wonderful beaches, towns, airport, supermarket etc. We had a wonderful, relaxing week at the Algarve. In any case we will give the best recommendation for this accommodation.

Quinta de Sao Sebastio is located in the village of Alcantarilla just a three minute drive from the lovely seaside resort of Armacao de Pera and 5k from Gale with it's gorgeous beaches and restaurants. Quiet and peaceful, yet only a fifteen minute drive from the lively but lovely resort of Albufeira.


The nearest airport is Faro Airport and it takes approximately 40 mins from the airport to our house. Car hire is recommended.
