House in Thurlestone, South Devon, England - Beautiful peaceful location,10 minutes walk on quiet roads from beach, pub, shop and golf club

* 4 bedroom house with wonderful sea views on a quiet private road,only 10 minutes walk to the beach.

* Surrounded by a large garden & well-behaved dogs are welcome.

* Yellow Sands has been owned by the same family since it was built in 1929 & retains much of its original character..

* It is comfortable & welcoming - with a relaxed quirky charm of its own.

Downstairs there is a large living-room & a dining-room, both with open fires & fabulous views over the coast, a breakfast room with log-burning stove, fully equipped kitchen, larder, a shower and separate WC, a utility room with plenty

of space for coats & boots and another separate WC. Upstairs has four twin-bedded rooms, all with basins, and two with wonderful views. One of the bedrooms has a very small room off it, with a bed and a cot. There is also a bathroom with roll-topped bath & and the best view you have ever had from a bath, as well as a separate WC. The village shop and pub are an easy walk away, & and the South West Coastal path is within 10 minutes walk. Keen golfers will want to join the Thurlestone Golf Club, whilst non-players can enjoy watching from the south-facing terrace which overlooks the golf course and the beach.

"Every year there are new changes that the family lovingly add to this incredible place but fundamentally what we love about about it is that it is simple and comfortable and harks back to a time of our childhoods. That doesn't mean that it doesn't have the luxury of mod cons, it does (Wifi, washing machine, tumble dryer, TV etc.) but it is an environment where you can all relax." Notes on accommodation: Smoking is not permitted inside the house Outside: The house is surrounded by a large garden and has a south-facing terrace with tables and chairs & beautiful views looking out over the golf course, beach and coast. Ample parking in private drive. BBQ. Utility Room: Washing machine and tumble dryer with adjoining WC. Hanging space for coats, boot space etc Duvets and pillows provided; please provide all your own bed linen and towels. Some cleaning on changeover. Tenants are asked to clean the house on departure. A caretaker will come in between lets to check the inventory. Other: Large dining room overlooking the garden, golf course and beach. Fireplace, two oak dining tables and chairs to seat 12.

A Wonderful Home From Home

This year is our third family trip to YellowSands and we already want to book for next year. As soon as we see the wonderful views we instantly relax and we spend nearly all our time on the beach or walking on the cliffs whatever the weather. The house is very comfortable, with everything you need, and we love its history and little quirks. I recently, under some duress, gave the details to a colleague of mine, as i really wanted to keep this absolute gem to ourselves, which says a lot! Yellow Sands will be part of our family history now for years to come.

Beautiful Retreat

Breath-taking views

Yellow Sands is a lovely family home and we enjoyed our stay enormously.

The views from Yellow Sands far exceeded our expectations and we were fortunate enough to have warm and sunny days to sit in the garden and enjoy watching the sea and the beach.

The garden is lovely, well enclosed to make it safe for dogs and with a feeling of seclusion and very very quiet.

We really liked the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the house, full of character and a lovely step back in time, but still having the conveniences of a dishwasher, washing machine etc.

It was nice to be in such a quiet location but still only a short drive to Salcombe or Kingsbridge for a day out.

We hope very much to be able to return to Yellow Sands next year.

It is so difficult for photographs to really capture the views from Yellow Sands, or the special atmosphere of the house, but I think that your review has added so much to the advert and reflects our own experiences since childhood. It would be lovely to welcome you all back to Yellow Sands next year, we have a number of tenants who have been coming back year after year. Just a note of warning, book early, it is beginning to fill up already.

We feel so lucky to have been able to stay at Yellowsands. It has such incredible views that you almost can't believe they are real. The house is very special, is full of character and is completely unforgettable. The beach and cliff top walks are absolutely stunning. It was genuinely hard to leave at the end of our stay and we really hope it was the first of many visits!

Booking Notes:
Email owner to confirm availability of requested dates. A deposit of one third of the total rent is required to confirm booking. Balance of payment is due 30 days before start of booking. Email confirmation of bookings will be given together with directions and access details.

Changeover Day:
The house is available from 4.00 pm on Fridays. Tenants are asked to leave by 12.00 noon on the final day of their holiday to allow the caretaker sufficient time to prepare for the next tenants.

A deposit of one third of the rent should be paid to secure the property, with the balance to be paid on or before one month before the start of the holiday. Payment may be made by cheque or by bank transfer and details are given on the booking form which is sent out when an an enquiry is received.
