Guestbook comments from the owner

Jones family 06.07.2012

When we arrived at the Villa, the owners had supplied plenty of advice and information to allow us to get comfortable very quickly and we were able to contact them if we needed anything throughout our stay. The Villa has everything you could wish for, a real home from home, all high quality. As far as the area in which the Villa is situated, everything you would want to do on holiday in Spain is so very close. Any worries we had of making our first Villa rental holiday immediately disappeared after experiencing the quality of the villa, the area and the reassurance that the owners were on hand. 5 stars! we hope to be back soon.

Diane Christie – 10th June 2014.

Absolutely fantastic, we couldn’t have wished for a more relaxing holiday. The pool was very recently finished and it’s just lovely, we had plenty of evening swimming as it was surprisingly warm even in to the early hours of the morning. We had x2 children with us and although there was an alarm fitted to the pool, as the pool is slightly raised we had no problems with the children and we were able to use the pool edge for seating on and evening, it was simply gorgeous. The local shopping area was within easy walking distance which had everything we needed. The local beach area was do die for….! We had to contact the owner on a couple of occasions for very minor problems that arose but they organised everything very quickly. Lovely and clean with everything there that we needed. Another 5 stars as per the previous comments on here. I see there are people starting to book next year so we may have to get ourselves organised for another visit before its booked.

A brilliant holiday in a lovely villa and beautful part of Spain

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the villa for two weeks at the end of August and had an amazing holiday. The villa is situated in a quiet residential street so feels very peaceful and private, but within a few mins drive one way you have some local shops/bars and then shortly afterwards two large supermarkets, and 5mins drive the other direction you have a gorgeous blue flag beach with loads of eating/drinking options, and play park on the sand for the kids - perfect! The villa itself was spacious - there were 9 of us there (5 adults and 4 kids - three different families) and we didn't ever feel on top of each other. We moved around a bit to get the balance of fan/air conditioning right (some people liked air con, others didn't!) but all rooms were comfortable. We had a few minor issues when we first got there - nothing serious, couldn't get wifi working, few sockets needed attention, and pool was cloudy - Hazel responded immediately and things were sorted very quickly for us - everyone that came to the villa was extremely friendly and courteous. The kitchen is really well equipped and there are two fridge/freezers so plenty of space for a large group.

This part of Spain is just gorgeous - we had trips out to Cadiz, Gibraltar and Vejer de la Frontera but also spent lots of time lazing around the villa plus/minus a trip to the beach either first or last thing .... we will definitely be back again and loved staying in your villa Rich and Kay!

We found Villa Rosa conveniently situated in Chiclana. Short drive from beach and supermarkets.

  • 4 of 5

We found it easily, it is well laid out on one level and the swimming pool ( very well kept ) and lawn playing area beside it for the grandchildren.

The property is well kept, clean and maintained. We found the villa very relaxed because of the layout of the pool and lawn, ideal for the children and easy supervision, which was great.

The lounge/living area was spacious for all the family and the bedrooms are good sized and the beds comfortable. Bathrooms were clean and well kept; good sized. Good kitchen, reasonably sized and amble fridge space.

Chiclana has good restaurants and fantastic seafood, as has Cadiz. There is also Jerez, two towns with a great historic past and within a short driving distance to visit. I know the area well.

I would like to return in the future if family holiday plans allow and will be happy recommend the villa to relatives and friends.

Our sincere thanks Richard and Kay for their help in keeping arrangements/booking simple and easy and allowing us the use of their villa. Also our thanks to Hazel from Clear Sky for being very helpful.

All the family enjoyed a very relaxed and happy holiday.

Spacious, private and great pool.

  • 4 of 5

Really easy to book and great correspondence. We were a group of 8, aged from 5 to 63 and the villa suited us all. Lots of space, very private villa, not overlooked at all. Restaurants and bars within walking distance one way and a 5 minute drive to the wonderful beach the other way. Cadiz within easy driving distance also. A great base to explore this wonderful part of Spain and a great place to relax and rest, when you do not want to do anything. Had a minor problem with the boiler and a lack of hot water (these things happen), but sorted extremely swiftly and efficiently. Fabulous family holiday, thank you!

We spent a week at Villa Rosa.

  • 5 of 5

The Villa is lovely with plenty of space for large groups, adults or families. Pool was perfect for non swimmers as well as swimmers. Nice quiet location but near enough to beach & restaurants. Great bbq area which we used a few times. Ample parking for 3 cars. The beds were very comfortable. A beautiful conservatory however we didn't use it as we were outdoors all of the time. We loved the place and would definitely like to go back.

Excellent Family Accommodation!

  • 5 of 5

We are a large family group that stayed at this villa for 2 weeks. The villa is absolutely great! We had 5 children aged 4 and under and as it was all on one level with a child friendly pool it was perfect for little children and felt safe and easy living.

The spacious villa and outside areas were just what we needed and the options of indoor/outdoor eating was so helpful.

The location of the villa was lovely, with sandy beaches, coastal towns and harbour close by and it wasn't far from Cadiz and other towns and sights which meant day trips were easy.

We highly recommend this villa and hope to stay again in the future xxx

From the Owner

Villa Rosa has been my parents family home since 2001, they retired to this area in the 1990's and this was their second property after living near Roche. They needed a Villa that was closer to all amenities and restaurants. We have been holidaying here since 2001 and with our children within months of our first son's birth. We now have the honour of inviting other holiday makers the opportunity to sample this lovely area and use the Villa as a home from home.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Jerez Airport at 37 Miles Nearest Barpub : In Los Gallos at 0.3 Miles Nearest Golf : Novo Sancti Petri at 3 Miles Nearest Train : San Fernando at 12 Miles Nearest Motorway : N340 at 3 Miles Nearest Beach : La Barossa at 1.4 Miles Car: recommended

Special interest holidays:

Plenty of Golf can be found within minutes of Villa Rosa. A PADI Dive Centre is at the marina, less than 3 minutes drive from Villa Rosa for any experienced or trainee diver, which also includes a host of other water sport activities in the purpose designed harbour.

Apart from the beach and the golf courses there are also two driving ranges, an equestrian centre offering beach rides at sunset, a floodlit tennis centre and much more.

Jerez Moto GP circuit is within 30 minutes drive from the villa and is an ideal base for those that want to visit in May for the GP and September for the World Superbike.

The beautiful 7km long Blue Flag La Barossa Beach and Novo Sancti Petri Beach are very clean and allow for a wide open expanse with restaurants & bars for those summer evenings watching the sunset. During the summer the beach offers showers and lifeguards are on watch. A 5 min drive allows you to get to both beaches.

The nearest airport is Jerez (30 mins) which is served by Ryanair from Stanstead. Seville Airport is a little over an hours drive and is served from Gatwick & Stanstead. Gibraltar is also just over 1 hours drive away. Malaga Airport, being the main international airport in the area is served by almost all UK airports and is an easy motorway drive of just over 2 hours.

By car Chiclana town centre is 2.5km, Conil 18km and the oldest city in Europe Cadiz 24km (30 mins). Seville is 1 hour to drive also Gilbralter is just over 1 hours drive away. There’s a large water park (Aqualand Bahia de Cadiz) on the way to Jerez, also horse very riding nearby, go-karting in the next village, a tree adventure park (Entre Ramas) very close by in Roche. In Jerez there's the Royal Andalusia Equestrian School with a Lipizzaner horse show. Circuit de Jerez is less 30 than minutes drive

Further Details:

The Chiclana area is renowned for its beauty with protected nature parks, stunning beaches and wonderful sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean. The blue flag beaches of La Barrosa are the envy of the region and extend for 7 kms. White sand, backed by sand dunes and pine trees they extend to rocky points and wrap around to the estuary and marina of Sancti Petri. Here you can eat and drink or enjoy the activities arranged by the water sports centre or go for a boat ride around Sancti Petri Island. Other sporting activities in the area include, horse riding, tennis, scuba diving, go-karting, fishing, golf, surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing and kayaking.

Easy drive to Jerez (sherry houses), Cádiz (possibly Europe's oldest city), the wonder of Seville (internationally famous city), Tarifa (and the boat to Tanger), and the intriguing pueblos blancos (white villages), including Vejer-de-la-Frontera. This is the Spain of fighting bulls and flamenco, ferias and finos, and fine simple food. Visit the Roman ruins at Baelo Claudio, the lighthouse at Cape Trafalgar, the old tuna fishing port of Sancti Petri. 30% of the province of Cádiz is National Park, one of the world's most important cork forests, and a micro climate within the Alcornocales park that is regarded as the last Mediterranean jungle.

The Villa is an easy walk to the little commercial centre of Los Gallos which is a 5 minute walk away, and has a tapas bars, small restaurants, an excellent pizzeria which does takeaways, 2 bakeries/ice cream parlors, a pharmacy, bicycle hire, car hire, and shops. There are three large supermarkets within a 2 minute drive - Superol, Mercadona and Lidl. The Villa is a short drive to a number of good restaurants right on the beach (including the famous Los Pescadores), as well as bars, a chemist, minimarket, newsagent, hot bread, etc.

Great for the children is the Aqualand Bahia de Cadiz Water Park is within 20 minutes drive towards Jerez.

From the Owner

The Villa is in a very peaceful, quiet and natural area, out of tourist crowded places but close enough to be within walking distance of everything you might need. Villa Rosa and the area is very well suited for family life as all the amenities are within a short walk. There’s plenty of Golf available, marina sports, horse riding, beaches, shops, etc; everything for the family you could wish for. It’s a completely different place in Chiclana coast. Lovely walks around the pinewood, by the seaside, and incredibly close to famous cities, towns and villages in the region such as Cadiz and Seville.
