Situated between the picturesque village of Coussac Bonneval and the town of St-Yrieix-la-Perche, this Farmhouse offers relaxing surroundings as well as creature comforts. Local attractions include Chateau’s, Fishing, Zoo, Caves, Lakes (with Zip Wire & Go-Ape), Swimming Pool, Aquarium, Museums, Bird of Prey, Go-karts.

Four bedrooms (Sleeps 8+), two en-suite & master bathrooms, large social kitchen with log burner, UK Satellite TV, Dishwasher, and a lovely courtyard to enjoy the peace and quiet.

The Farmhouse is well maintained and set up to accommodate families. (I have stayed with my two children and with a Large group and is perfect for either).



The amenities at the farmhouse are perfect, there is plenty to occupy Children and adults alike. Outside in the Courtyard there is a trampoline and pool and enough open space to let your children run free in the enclosed courtyard which leads to a field which you can set up a badminton net or just relax in.



The Farmhouse was all set up for us on arrival, beds were made, perfectly clean and after a long journey this was greatly appreciated.



There is plenty to do in the area, in St Yrieix la Perche you have access to supermarkets which stock everything you would need. The town also has a brilliant Swimming PoolThere is also an lake with beach nearby which is perfect for families.



I would recommend the Farmhouse to families and friends and if you want to escape from the hustle of daily life…within hours you are relaxed!!!.

Beautiful gite

The photos do not do this farmhouse justice. We stayed with another family here and I was worried that we would be crowded but the farmhouse could easily house us all without getting under each other's feet.

It is also one of the best equipped gites I have ever rented! There are lots of cooking equipment for both indoor cooking and BBQ, plus a 'use and replace' policy for the dry goods.

We had lots of fun discovering the local area. Can thoroughly recommend Chateau Hautefort and Espace Hermeline for fun-filled family days out. We then returned to the farmhouse to enjoy the pool and then played lots of board games found in the gite.

Gary was really helpful with answering any queries we had before our holiday started which made it all so much more easier.

Peace & Tranquility

The farmhouse situated in the hamlet of Le Grand Chaillaud is some 8 hours drive from the Channel ports when including stops. We chose the route west of Paris via Rouen and Chartres, then south via Orleans. Also decided to break both outward and return journeys with stopovers in Chartres. This gave a clear 4 hour drive to/from the farmhouse.

The hamlet is small, no more than a dozen houses, of which a third are holiday properties, and is situated on a loop road off the D901 that connects the village of Coussac-Bonneval with the market town of St Yrieix-la-Perche. While you can hear some road noise and the occasional train passing on the track the other side of the road the location is tranquil with only the post van or a tractor to disturb the peace of the hamlet.

The farmhouse has been thoroughly and tastefully renovated to a high standard. Upstairs there are three bedroom, one double with en suite and a further double and another with twin beds. There is also a full bathroom. The stairs are quite steep, a bit of a problem for very young children and the elderly. As we fell in the latter category we used the twin bedded room downstairs which is situated next to the ground floor toilet/shower room, effectively providing an en suite.

There is a large farmhouse kitchen area with all facilities for easily 8 - 10 people. The lounge area has several armchairs and sofas and is equipped with satellite tv, dvd/video etc. There are also plenty of board games to be found in the cupboards.

Outside there is a gravel courtyard with a very large barn opposite the house. This has not as yet been renovated and is used primarily as storage. In the courtyard is a trampoline and an inflatable pool is available as are many other outdoor games/facilities ie boule, darts, table tennis plus a bbq. The property has a large field with plenty of space for further activities such as badminton.

The Mediaeval market town of St Yrieix is a 10 min drive to the west and has supermarkets plus hardware stores, garages and a range of shops. The local services, police, fire and medical, are all to be found here plus a good swimming pool.

Coussac-Bonneval to the east of the hamlet has bars and a small shop.

The surrounding countryside is beautiful with many chateaux and interesting towns and villages. We particularly liked Segur-la-Chateau, Uzerche, Hautefout and Jumilhac-la-Grand.

In all this is a great place to relax and enjoy provincial France at its best.

Lovely family holiday

The farmhouse is beautifully decorated and very spacious. It is very well equipped, particularly for young children (trampoline, little ball pool, cot, stairgate, highchair, plastic crockery, board games, etc), but great for older ones and adults too (board games, well equipped kitchen for cooking, table tennis). The nearby town of St Yrieix La Perche is lovely with lots of arty shops and there is a great lake with a mega zip wire, go ape type activities, mini golf and little beach not too long a drive away. We had a lovely holiday and are more than likely to return another year.

Wonderfully renovated farmhouse

The farmhouse has been really well set up for a family stay. (Our party was 2 families). House was really clean on arrival and high standard of decoration. A feeling of being a home from home with a "use and replace" policy meaning that things like dishwasher tabs/ tea bags are already provided. Very well equipped kitchen. Many things provided to entertain you in the farmhouse with indoor and outdoor games; tabletennis, badminton, small blowup pool.

The region was a very pleasant one to visit with many lake swimming beaches nearby, great pool in local town and rolling countryside.

Highly recommended this well thought out farmhouse.
