Villa in Cala en Porter, Menorca - Quiet Location

A recently built villa in the old part of Cala en Porter, backing onto green belt land, in a quiet road within a 10-15 minute walking distance of the village. Easy access straight into villa, with no steps. Access to the pool is down a few steps, to the side of the villa or some steps from the terrace area. There is a solarium that is accessed by stairs at the rear of the property. Railings and two gates (at either side of upper terrace) stop little ones from venturing too far unescorted!

The villa had everything we wanted.Quiet location,15 min walk to shops/restaurants. Another 15 mins. down to the beach. Villa was spotless with air con. and all mod cons. All the English TV channels if needed. Pool brilliant and so warm [28C] it felt like it was heated. Excellent value for money. Would certainly go back,but may try Binebeca next year.

Notes on accommodation: The property is fully air-conditioned and double glazed. Outside: Non heated private swimming pool measures 8 x 4 metres with steps for easy access, and is 1.75m at the deep end. Low maintenance garden regularly tended by gardener. Brick built barbecue with ample terrace furniture and sun loungers for 6 people. Utility Room: Washing machine in cupboard under car port. Washing line to rear of property, c/w/ pegs. Iron and i/board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included,(not beach towels) the villa is cleaned for your arrival with linen changed weekly. Other: The lounge and all 3 bedrooms are fully air-conditioned with hot/cold temperature settings.

Lovely villa and owner

Owner gave great directions as Cala en Porter is full of one ways, dead ends etc, beach is 5 min walk down very steep hill but worth it. Villa is great all on one level, loads of games, inflatables, pool heated, villa a little dated in rooms but hey you are only sleeping there. Area full of residential locals so very very quiet. I had a problem parking the car in the garage as the street is very narrow therefore park at the bottom it's easier and most people do it also. Village is lovely, restaurants and a few bars however don't go if you are a group of boys or girls as it will be too quiet.

Coast/Beach:

Cala en Porter village is located above a coved beach which is only accessed by winding road or steps from village centre. The villa is located in the original part of the village and is within a 10-15 minute walking distance. There is a short cut to the beach just down the road from the villa, alongside the old depuradora, that is less demanding than the road or steps. This path is NOT suitable for less abled or infirm people, due to heavy subsidence from the heavy rains of late. This walk takes approximately 10-15 minutes.

Travel:

The nearest and only airport is Mahon and is about 10 kms or 10 min. drive from Cala en Porter. The bus service in the season is more than adequate for most travel, but car hire is recommended, even if for just a few days, for convenience to explore this beautiful island.

Distances:

Mahon is the capital of Menorca and has a large port area which is the second natural deepest port in the world. It is a historic town well worth visiting. Market days are Tuesday and Saturdays.

Further Details:

Cala en Porter provides everything you should need. It has several supermarkets, shops, bank, restaurants and bars. There is also an activity centre for children, as well as its safe beach with lifeguard.

Changeover Day:
Changeover days are Saturdays. Arrival time is 4 pm or after, departure mid-day. This could be flexible with house manager,depending on availability.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the villa per week, for up to 6 people, fully inclusive. Baby cot and high chair available at NO extra cost , if required.
