The Pentagon is a four bedroom, deceptively spacious, modern house situated in the small crofting community of Cove. It enjoys stunning views over Loch Ewe to the spectacular mountains of Torridon and the Great Wilderness beyond. Comfortable and well-equipped throughout including a large kitchen/diner and a lounge with open fire and satellite TV. The sleeping accommodation of a double bedroom with en-suite shower room, large twin bedroom and two single bedrooms make it ideal for families. There is an enclosed garden and well-behaved dogs are welcome.

About the Owner

Based in Cheshire, we bought The Pentagon as a holiday house primarily for our family to enjoy. So we've ensured everything we would want to find in a holiday cottage is there.

We also recognized the impact holiday homes can have on the local community - holidaymakers bring employment and money into the remote highland communities, empty houses contribute nothing. We therefore decided that our house would be available to let throughout the year.

Although our children have now left home, we still regularly enjoy a number of weeks in our cottage every year.

Homely and welcoming.

I've been traveling to cove for around 30 years now, staying in a variety of accommodation, and the pentagon is one of the cleanest and well furnished I've had the pleasure to dwell.

The cottage comfortably sleeps six people and really feels like a home from home for your time at Loch Ewe. It is ideally situated for excursions into the hills and the position, overlooking the loch, creates a beautiful vista for the entire stay.

Very cosy, with everything you need

A very cosy house! Each room coloured different in friendly colours. A big kitchen with great views over the loch, enough dishes and cutlery and everything else for six, a comfortable living room with also great views and a good-working fireplace, all bedrooms very nicely decorated and lots of games and books and maps. Everything was clean and we had enough space to leave our things. And a music player in each room :) Very tranquil area, and it is worth the long way!

We had been wanting to buy a holiday house in Scotland for our family for some time but never find the right area. Then we had a couple of great holidays on Loch Ewe, fell in love with the area and found The Pentagon. The rest is history! We like its proximity to both the sea and the hills, the sandy beaches with a backdrop of rugged mountains.

Activity and Interests


There is a large, superb sandy beach a mile down the road at Firemore, which is safe and gently sloping.

Cove harbour is just a few minutes walk down the road from Pentagon.


Inverness is about two hours drive away. This is the ‘capital’ of the Highlands and offers extensive shopping, recreational and leisure facilities. It has a regional airport.

Ullapool is 90 minutes drive away and has regular ferry crossings to the Outerr Hebrides.


Poolewe & Inverewe Gardens - 8 miles

Gairloch - 15 miles

Further Details:

Gairloch has the nearest bank and petrol station. It also has a good selections of food shops including butcher, newsagent and small supermarkets.
