comfortable chalet for two families

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Les Allues with two families with teenagers. It was a perfect fit: one family (5 persons) stayed upstairs and the other family(4 persons) downstairs. Both families had their own bathroom(good shower!) and toilet. The kitchen and living room in between was nicely decorated, fine kitchen equipment and big enough to give everybody their own space. The kids liked the fast Wifi..to keep in touch with friends in the Netherlands. The parents liked the fireplace to drink Savoie wine together. The supermarket, about 10 minutes nice walk through the old village, sells delicious croissants and bread among other basic groceries. The best thing to do is to go to the Super U in Moutiers (on the road to the chalet) and bring a lot of stuff and put it in the two refrigerators in the chalet. Walking on ski boots to the lift/bus took us about 15 minutes, so we decided to take the car to the lift and park over there(enough place and free). We liked to ski back to Les Allues on the track le Raffort. We enjoyed a dinner in restaurant L'Arbé (good Savoie cheese fondue, burgers and pizza). Les Allues is a charming quiet little village with authentic houses. We highly recommend this chalet! The owners are very accurate to give all the information you need. We have two tips. 1. as we were stuck in traffic jam for many hours on both Saturdays(black Saturdays) it might be more comfortable to start/end your holiday on Sunday. 2. On other possibility is to rent skis in Meribel and leave them in a rented locker (in order to avoid walking on ski shoes) and take lift/bus back to les Allues.

Nice New Year's vacation

  • 5 of 5

We have booked Laura's chalet for the new year's week for a group of friends and have had a wonderful time in Les Allues! The chalet itself is situated in Les Allues, a short trip by bus or cable car to Méribel. The village itself is nice with sufficient facilities for grocery shopping or dinner in the evening.

The chalet was exactly as described and we had very nice days in it - though being a group of 11 adults. It has 3 bathrooms, 5 bed rooms and a big enough kitchen and living room for our needs. Only the sauna could have been a bit bigger. It's fitting only 2 persons.

all in all I would always recommend Laura and her Chalet. It has been a very nice contact throughout the entire booking process and stay

Beautiful Chalet in a Stunning location

  • 5 of 5

An excellent Chalet with beautiful views of the Alps made for a perfect location for our skiing holiday this year. The Chalet has everything to cater for a big group and with comfortable furnishing made it a nice place to come home to every day after a hard days skiing in the 3 vallees. Wifi and satellite TV were an extra bonus and with 8 of us in the chalet meant we could all feed our ipad addiction each morning and evening.

Les Allues is a lovely village with a local supermarket and some nice restaurants at very reasonable prices which was a nice surprise. I would definitely book this chalet again.

Lovely Chalet in nice location

  • 5 of 5

We drove from the UK to Les Allues, a nice simple journey costing €157 in tolls on lovely quiet roads.

We decided to do a big shop for food in Albertville and found a Lidl just off the main road which was amazingly cheap for everything including beer and wine.

The chalet was easy to find in Les Allues, not far from the main road up to Meribel, and you can park on the road directly outside the chalet, but make sure you are facing downhill so if it does snow hard you may not need snow chains to get to the main road.

The chalet is nicely furnished and decorated with everything you need for a great stay. Very warm without the fire burning but once you get that going it’s so cozy. The beds are nice and comfortable and with plenty of hooks and storage for all your wet gear at the end of the day. The wi-fi works really well and there is an added bonus of having Sky TV so you can catch up with things if that is what you like to do. There is a small 2 person Sauna (with a radio) which is really nice after a long day on the slopes.

The views over the valley on a clear day are just beautiful, so make sure you have your camera.

The walk to the Gondola and/or bus is about 10 to 15 minutes slightly uphill, then a further 15 minutes to get to Meribel Centre.

There is a great restaurant in Les Allues (L'Arbe I think?), and a supermarket for all the essentials and food, although there are 2 bigger supermarkets in Meribel Centre which are worth visiting.

Overall, it was a fantastic trip to Meribel, in a lovely chalet located in a great location away from the crowds.

Location

From the Owner

We bought the chalet to escape the summer heat of Dubai (50 degrees) and have beautiful weather and fresh air in the mountains in the Alps. We are also keen skiers and enjoy skiing and the cold. So a perfect contrast and exact match of what we needed. The air is fresh and your fitness levels improve so much by all the walks, cycling and skiing. The views are beautiful summer and winter. It is peaceful in the village but all you need is on your door step if you like the lively side of town...

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

There are some beautiful lakes in comfortable driving distance from the chalet including the famous Lake Annecy which is known as "Europe's cleanest lake" as well as its third largest. Closer still is Lake La Plagne which hosts a sandy beach and spectacular surrounding views.

Travel:

Nearest airport is Chambery (one hour) or Geneva or Lyon (2 hour drive). Transfer buses are available.

Distances:

Les Allues is 6km from Meribel centre, 7km from Meribel village and 11km from Meribel-Mottaret. The nearest town of convenience is Moutiers at the bottom of the valley and is a 20 minute drive.

Further Details:

There is a supermarket in Les Allues and a cash point. Meribel centre has many. For big shop its best to go down 6km to Moutiers for Super U or Carrefour. There are many banks in moutiers also.
