About the Owner

We bought the cottage as a ruin 25 years ago, restored it ourselves and it has been a holiday home for our family ever since. Last year the property was completely renovated. We are keen climbers and over the years have explored most of the routes in the area.

Delightful Welsh cottage, full of rustic charm.

  • 5 of 5

Perfect mountain retreat. Full of rustic charm, warm and comfortable and well kitted out. We only stayed 3 night, but for us as a family of 4 it was lovely. Only used 2 bedrooms as the kids decided to share, so plenty of space. A short walk to the local pub was a bonus, and we spent the chilly evenings in front of the log burner, playing board games. Just what we had hoped it would be.

The best possible location in all Wales

  • 5 of 5

We've really enjoyed our stay in this cottage.

The location is probably the best you can dream in Wales : the landscapes of Llanberis Pass, right from the windows, are amazing, and the location is perfect for visiting North Wales (Anglesey, Caernarfon, Conwy, Harlech, Bodnant gardens… are all between 15 and 50 minutes from the cottage).

The cottage itself is comfortable, clean, well-maintained, and perfect for a family.

I would highly recommend it !

(But please indicate on the website that the washing machine is no longer there.)

Practically perfect!

  • 5 of 5

I can't imagine a better place to stay while visiting Snowdonia. The views everywhere you look around the cottage are stunning. There's a public footpath just down the road that led to a lovely hike up into the mountains. Llanberis is an easy drive and includes lovely little shops and the prettiest playground my kids have ever experienced. On a cloudy day, we also drove from the cottage to Anglesey without any problems (although I'm an American, so I might just be accustomed to driving further distances.) The cottage itself is absolutely charming, well-maintained and had everything we needed. Getting in an out of the gate is a bit tricky because there's not a lot of space between the gate and the fairly busy road. But we managed just fine. If we ever stay in Snowdonia again, this is where we'll pick.

Lovely cottage and great location for Snowdon

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a long weekend in June to climb Snowdon. The cottage is perfectly located - just a 5 minute walk to the Sherpa hopper bus, meaning you can climb one route of Snowdon and descend another, using the bus to get home again (also avoiding parking charges at the main car parks!).

The cottage is very nicely restored and has 3 bedrooms, two with twin beds and one with a double. The double has an en suite and there is also a main bathroom for use by the other two bedrooms. The third bedroom is accessed by a steep staircase as identified but it's not impossible to climb, even my parents in their 50s made it up each evening.

The kitchen is well stocked with lots of essentials like tea/coffee/sugar as well as a few staples like pasta/rice/oats etc. Obviously replace these as you go so that future guests can enjoy too!

Top tips - take some CDs with you as there is a good hifi in the living room, and reverse into the drive way as it is narrow so turning around is tricky.

Enjoy your stay and book with confidence.
