Wonderful ! Very quiet historical place, duplex apartment in a 17th Priory fully renoved. In the heart of Provence, between Avignon and Saint-Remy-de-Provence, it's the best relaxing place to visit this famous area of France. Your holiday home have a large pool with pool house and furniture, large mediterranean garden with rosmarinus, lavenders, thymus, olive trees, private and secure parking, private south terrace, sleeps 5/6, 3 bedrooms, 2 bath rooms, provençal style, airco, wifi.

About the Owner

I'm french and I live in this Priory since 2008. I teach french history and culture. I spent a long time travelling around the world and love meeting people from other countries. Nowadays it's easy to come in sunny Saint-Remy from England. I like the famous provençal way of life and I hope to share it with you. Everything seems easy and nice here: climate, food, wine, culture and historical towns. People are friendly and I think it's a great place to live quietly. I hope you will enjoy your stay at home.

A lovely place to stay

The apartment is lovely - very well maintained, well appointed and a very comfortable place to stay. We had an unexpected linen change mid-way, which was welcome! The pool too was beautiful, a great place for us to relax and for the children to amuse themselves.

As this is a recent let, a couple of pointers may be useful. Graveson is a bit of a one-horse town (or perhaps it was because everyone was on holiday!), but is superbly placed to visit great places within the region. A visitors 'guide' book would have been useful - local places the owner recommends to eat, or places to visit - market days etc. The visitors centre in Graveson was shut, so no help there.

Another pointer would be that there is no washing machine, and whilst this wasn't listed as a facility, travelling with a young family means that you need one. There is no launderette in Graveson, but thankfully the housekeeper - Carine - kindly helped us out.

Finally, shower curtains would have made the showers function better (hand held isn't much fun, but avoids the inevitable flood).

All in all though, a lovely place and a great holiday.

Superbe

A very relaxing haven. A really beautiful « Provençal Bastide » with great facilities (very large pool/pretty garden/large kitchen-diner) in an old village close to all the major sites of Languedoc and Eastern Provence. The property had a very calm ambience beautifully decorated. Apartment well stocked, cleaned and well prepared. This made the place very quiet and relaxing (the only sound being the bells of the sheep in a nearby field).

Vacances sublimes et ressourçantes

Mon séjour dans cet endroit extraordinaire a eu lieu en juin dernier. C'est un véritable havre de paix dans un Prieuré du 18e siècle niché dans un parc avec une très grande piscine, le tout très bien entretenu. Pourtant on est au centre du village et on peut aller charcher sa baguette fraîche ou aller au marché à pied en 2 mn. J'ai beaucoup apprécié la propreté impeccable du duplex ainsi que sa décoration entre modernité et charme de l'ancien. La propriétaire est adorable et j'ai hâte de la revoir car je pense louer à nouveau ce printemps son bel appartement. Mary Winter

Des vacances sublimes et ressourçantes

Un cadre magnifique dans un Prieuré du 18e siècle classé avec une très grande piscine et un parc très bien entretenus. Tout n'est que calme et volupté, les oiseaux le matin, les cigales la journée, le soleil et la baignade, les senteurs des lavandes et des romarins. Le duplex est charmant alliant modernité et style ancien et très bien situé avec une jolie terrasse face à la piscine. J'ai beaucoup apprécié la propreté irréprochable de l'appartement et la très grande disponibilité de Muriel la propriétaire. Si vous chercher un lieu paisible pour visiter la région, vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés.J'y retournerai dès que possible. Mary W.

The property is extremely well located to visit great many interesting places. The impressionist artist Chabaud Museum is in the centre of the village along with the tourist info centre. Must visits include the famous wednesday market in St-Remy, the Pont-du-Gard, the Baux-de-Provence in Alpilles, Nîmes and its stunning amphitheatre, Arles and its narrow back streets, Avignon and its Pont as well as the Palais des Papes, Luberon, Camargue and its unique wildlife, white horses and black bulls, Aix-en-Provence and its chic cafes, Cassis with its sea Calanques, the famous tourist wine road.

Coast/Beach:

Mediterranean coast and its beaches are only 40 mins away (Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, Camargue) or 60 mins away (Cassis Calanques).

Travel:

Only 10 mins from Avignon highway A7 or Avignon TGV station (where you can hire a car or take a taxi), nearest airport is Avignon with direct flights from Southampton, 40 mins from Nîmes airport with direct flights from London, 60 mins Marseille, 90 mins Montpellier, 2 hours Nice (You can hire a car in all airports).
