Guestbook comments from the owner

We stopped at the cottage a few weeks ago and had a wonderful stay. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend. The cottage itself is really well equipped with a log burner and under floor heating. It is a perfect place for exploring the North Dales. The local pub also serves fish and chips to take out!

Warm cosy cottage in beautiful village

  • 4 of 5

Took my partner there for he's birthday along with out little girl. The owner gave good clear instructions on how to drive to the cottage and enter the house. Very tidy and cosy house with wood burner and under floor heating which is lovely in the morning on the feet. We stayed in one night and cooked and the kitchen had everything you needed. We ate dinner at the local pub which is very traditional homely feel. The hidden gem is the waterfall in the village down a little road. The little Butchers does amazing gluten free sausages. THe food store was great for wood and ice creams for my little one. There is even a cat pottery place. SUCH a stunning village. Lots of lovely pubs to walk to if your hiking or just a short drive away. Just a 10 minute drive we ate at the wensleydale Heifer in West Witton. Quite pricey but the food and service is amazing. And as it was my partner's birthday a lovely way to end the day. Wish we could of stayed for a week. NEXT time we will. Hayley, 40. Andy now 44 & Freyja nearly 4.

West Burton is a hidden gem in the Yorkshire Dales.

The cottage was perfect and the owner was very pleasant and accommodating for all of our needs. We will definitely be back, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants a slice of Olde English country village life!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful village

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed at Dale Cottage for 4 nights during storm Abigail. The cottage was gorgeous and the under floor heating was great after a long day in the cold and wet! The kitchen was very well equipped and we especially liked the extra long bath (also great after a day in the elements!). West Burton was the perfect location to explore the surrounding area, and it was lovely having the pub only a few doors down. We will definitely be back again (hopefully in better weather!).
