This Cottage was in a very good location for all of us to get around the North Coast. Very clean and cosy which meant we were able to relax well around our activities. Stunning views from the patio doors and all around. Very peaceful and quiet at night. Only fault was the heating. Came on in day and not at night which meant it was very cold at night. Not what you want in the Countryside. Would definitely recommend this Cottage for all round comfort, location, views and price. Would go back again as well! xox

Owner's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed your first stay at Rose Cottage. We certainly hope to welcome you and your friends back again in the future. Regarding the heaters - the electricity is an Economy 7 system - it sounds as if it's been tinkered with and switched over to the wrong settings. I've arranged for our local manager to pop in ASAP to check these this morning. I'm so sorry about this - For any future stays if you have any concerns at all about the property please do call our local manager and she will pop up and sort anything out for you at the time. Please do note too that there are also additional large plug in heaters which can be set on timers - these are usually stored in the walk in cupboard in the main bedroom. These are typically used in the autumn months but there if anyone needs additional heat at any time. Thank you again for your feedback.

Great little cottage to base your holiday in.

This was a perfect base to explore the coast with all that it has to offer, along with the Glens of Antrim. It was worth being National Trust Members as they have quite a presence in that area. We were able to enjoy cliff walks, beach walks, and Castles as well as the obvious places such as Giants Causeway and Rope Bridge

The Giant's Causeway is less than 10 minutes drive away. Also within 10 minutes drive are several beautiful beaches including the blue flag awarded White Rocks Strand and the pretty seaside town of Portballintrae which has a lovely little bay that's perfect for young children to paddle and hunt in rock pools.

The lively holiday town of Portrush is just over 10 minutes drive away with its wealth of pubs, restaurants, and Barry's Amusement Park.


Closest airport is Belfast International which is approx. 60 miles away.

The provincial University town of Coleraine is 15 minutes drive away which has a train and bus station with frequent trains to Belfast and Derry.

The cottage was completely refurbished during the winter of 2011 and should provide a great level of comfort and functionality for couples, small groups or families looking to explore. But possibly its greatest attribute is its unrivalled views across the Glens of Antrim, Bushmills, the Causeway Coast and on a good day right across the Irish Sea to the coast of Scotland. It is spectacular.

  • Notes on accommodation: Rose has a full complement of crockery, glassware and cutlery. A selection of books, games, toys and DVDs are available for guests use. Patio doors lead out onto a balcony with views over the small garden with picnic table and BBQ. A bathroom with electric shower over bath, WC, wash hand basin, and shaving point is shared by both bedrooms. A further camp bed is available under the stairs, which is perfect for younger children, (a little hidey-hole for them). The final room on the lower level is a large walk in cupboard with vacuum cleaner, washer/dryer and extra storage space. The cottage is heated throughout by wall-mounted storage heaters. And all heating and hot water is provided as part of the rental fee. As is bed-linen and towels. The cottage rests within a small development of cottages, developed on the former family farm, set in beautiful rolling countryside, an officially designated area of outstanding natural beauty. The perfect family base for exploring the Causeway Coast. Outside: A patio door from the double bedroom leads to the private garden. Outdoor table and seating provided.
