The property consists of an open plan living area including Victorian fireplace with a modern kitchen and modern bathroom (situated downstairs). The cottage benefits from full double glazing and new central heating system all installed within the last few years. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms 1 double and 1 single. There is a large well maintained private rear garden with plenty of outside seating. Parking is directly outside the cottage.

Lovely character cottage

Mick & Linda have always loved the New Forest area and purchased the cottage and used as a second home for many years. We could not think of a lovelier area to spend time whether a day out or holiday.

Just got back after a lovely stay at the cottage. I have to say that the central heating works beautifully. I did need to turn it down a little from the pre set settings as it is very efficient and the cottage really retains the warmth well . This will be perfect for guests in the winter.
Thank you for making the cottage so welcoming and a home from home. My little 4 year old boy loved it and said he wanted to stay forever. Although the stairs are steep after a couple of uses he was able to easily get up and down unaided. The beds are super comfy and to have such lovely linen and towels to use was a real luxury.

Lovely character cottage
We had a lovely stay in the New Forest in this very cosy, character cottage. The two bedrooms are perfect for a couple and one child. We went with our two year old who slept in the second bedroom in a travel cot. The owners can provide travel cot and high chair if needed which is really handy to save space in a packed car! Our cot is quite large and fitted alongside single bed in second bedroom without a problem, there would also be enough room for a cot in with double bed if needed. The bed is comfy! The stairs are steep. Our son was fine with the stairs with just a little assistance from us, no different than we have to do at home. The downstairs is quite open plan kitchen and living room, fully stocked with everything you might need, we even used the sandwich toaster one lunchtime! The bathroom is downstairs and is clean and the shower is good with very hot water. There is a small lobby by the front door for coats and shoes etc. We had some super days out, favourites were Longdown activity farm, Bournemouth beach and Lyndhurst town. We went to the local pub on Thursday night where they do curry and drink for about £7. Pub was very friendly and very much a locals pub but food was good and we had a nice evening. There is a Tesco Express and One Stop shop 2 mins walk from the property. If you're looking for a home from home, cosy accommodation then I'd highly recommend this cottage.
This is a delightful cottage in a fantastic location in the New Forest. It is central to visit the coast, great walks with our dog and shop in the local villages/towns.
It was extremely clean and well equipped, I have never seen so many books to read, if it was a wet day you would not be bored!
There are steep stairs to the two upstairs bedrooms and the only bathroom is downstairs. The shower though is fantastic.
This accommodation is well worth a stay-superb!
We will visit soon.
Lovely cottage in a great location
Me and my wife rented this cottage for just for the 2 of us. We didn't realise how much space there would be! We just used it as a base to explore the new forest and it was in the perfect location to do that. There are great transport links and its easy to walk out to the countryside. There is parking just outside and numerous restaurants, pubs, shops and take aways within walking distance.
Excellent cottage in excellent location
We stayed for a long weekend with our daughter who is at Bournemouth University and our black labrador. The cottage was very clean and tidy with loads of character and all the facilities needed. It is superbly located with the common opposite, the local pub, chippie and convenience stores within 2 minute walk and Lymington only a 10 minute walk away. This was a fantastic place to stay with a dog and I would certainly recommend it and will definately be staying again. Dave (Ramsgate)
This felt more like borrowing someone else's home rather than a rental cottage owing to the amount of personal effects throughout - china, glassware and a good selection of historical books/novels.
No problems with anything owing to the comprehensive instructions supplied by the owner, who also supplies his mobile number in case of trouble.
Very cosy, clean and comfortable and exactly as described, and only a 10 min walk to the top of Lymington High St.
The local pub "The Musketeer" very friendly and does a very good curry and pint on Thursdays. If you want fish and chips the best one is down on the main Lymington road, about a five minute walk.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and would not hesitate to recommend it.
Cosy and comfortable cottage
On arrival we found everything as described in the listing. The cottage was clean, tidy and well maintained.Mick's detailed information that he sent to us about the key location and heating system was all part of the great service he provided. We would not hesitate in recommending the cottage to friends or relatives and we would certainly return there if we ever go back to the Lymington area.It's only 200 yards to two mini-supermarkets and a fish and chip shop. A chemist is a couple of minutes further away. It's a great place for dogs as there is a common just over the road. Aside from the obvious attractions of the New Forest, the seaside towns of Christchurch, Bournemouth and Poole are just a short ride away. We can recommend a boat ride from Poole around Brownsea Island and a trip on the Lymington ferry to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. Perhaps the best attraction for us was Exbury Gardens, a 200 acre site that even at this time of the year (early autumn) had several flowers and trees in bloom. Overall impression of the cottage and area--excellent!

“We chose the Pennington/Lymington area as it has the best of both worlds the property being within the New Forest National park but only minutes from the sea and the lovely Georgian town of Lymington. The property looks out over common land yet local shops and a pub are less than a few hundred yards away and within a few minutes drive all the unique shops, pubs and restaurants around Lymington are there for all to enjoy.”

Small well behaved dogs are permitted and we ask that pets are not left in the property alone. Please be aware due to the age of the property the stairs are steep and care must be taken with small children and the elderly. Outside: Large private well maintaining cottage garden laid to lawn with flowerbeds and plenty of outdoor seating. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen and towels included except beach towels. The property is cleaned between each let with towels and linen changed weekly. On request for a 2 week let a freshening up can be given. Welcome pack provided. Other: Front door leads into small hallway housing wall mounted central heating system with area to hang coats.
