Acorn cottage is a delightful one bedroom cottage finished to a high standard & with all modern facilities,while retaining character. Also features a log burner, to ensure you remain snug, cosy and comfortable on cold winter evenings.

Once it warms up a little, enjoy a cup of tea or a glass of wine on the attractive patio. Much needed after a day exploring the beautiful Devon countryside.

Set in the picture postcard village of Stokeinteignhead with the benefit of a well stocked village shop and the highly rated pub 'The Church House Inn' just a stroll away.

If it's good food you like, there are many fabulous pubs & restaurants in the area, with excellent reviews.

We are just a short distance from Shaldon & the estuary of the River Teign surrounded by the rolling Devon countryside, with some fabulous scenery for those who like to explore by foot or car..

It's just a short drive to various places of interest, beaches, the Torbay Riviera, golf courses & the stunning Dartmoor National Park.

About Madeline Riggs

We're both born in Devon and have lived in the area all our lives. We built the house we now live in which is situated just above the cottage. We decided to convert the old barn into separate self contained accommodation. Making an ideal location for a couple seeking the peace and tranquillity in this beautiful part of Devon. We live here permanently and run our own small farm. We have a good local knowledge of the area. So if required, we are happy to give advice on restaurants, beaches and various other activities. "Most of them have been tried & tested by ourselves" Please don't hesitate to ask!

Notes on accommodation: The cottage is non smoking. The rental price is fully inclusive of heating, logs, electricity, bed linen & towels, but please bring your own beach towels. The sole use of the patio sitting area. We have a Barbecue available for your use, please just ask. There is a sunny patio & a decking area with seating for 2. Garden with small herb garden and BBQ area. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen and towels provided. Sorry we don't provide beach towels. Premises cleaned weekly. Acorn Cottage is a wonderful cottage in an ideal location, set in a lovely picturesque village with a very convenient village shop and local pub. The cottage had everything we could possibly need and was very comfortable. It had the added benefit of a beautiful well-tended peaceful garden to enjoy a morning coffee and afternoon drink. Everything provided in the cottage was to a very high standard and there was not a thing missing to ensure our stay was very enjoyable and so very relaxing. Acorn Cottage is ideally situated for exploring all the wonderful places to visit in South Devon. Our sincere thanks to Maddy and Godfrey for making us feel so welcome and letting out such a fabulous little gem of a cottage to escape from the hustle and bustle. Jackie & Mike, London

Hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit! Unterkunft ist sehr hochwertig und mit Liebe im Detail eingerichtet. Wir haben uns im Cottage sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. In der Umgebung kann man viel entdecken. Gerne wieder!

Acorn Cottage is set off the road in the Centre of the picturesque village of Stokeinteignhead , A short stroll will take you to the village shop & Church House Inn pub/restaurant.. rated for great food !

In a rural countryside location but close proximity to the Coast.

Within a 6 mile radius you can access beaches from secluded coves to long stretches of sand.

The nearest being just over a mile is Maidencombe with the16th Century Thatched Tavern.. ideal for a spot of lunch. A little further is Oddicombe with it's historic tram & Babbacombe with the downs a perfect area to sit and enjoy a view of the coastline.

Also close to Shaldon fishing village with it's sandy beach and the Ness Beach (via smugglers cove) Shaldon has some great places to eat including the Clipper, popular with locals & tourists alike.

There's a local ferry that's takes you across to Teignmouth with it's long stretch of sandy beach, shops & restaurants including the Crab Shack for seafood lovers.

For those who enjoy walking we have an abundance of marked coastal paths & tracks with stunning coastal scenery with many camera opportunities on route!

Just a short drive is the Dartmoor National park with it's famous Tor's, wildlife & spectacular views.

A little further is the lovely town of Dartmouth, which can be reached by car ferry from Kingswear. Or if you're in no hurry you can drive there, passing some lovely Devon villages on route.. There is so much to see and do, you really are spoilt for choice!
