About the Owner

We're both born in Devon and have lived in the Torbay/Teignbridge area all our lives. We built the house we now live in which is situated just above the cottage. We decided to convert the old barn into separate self contained accommodation. Making an ideal location for a couple seeking the peace and tranquillity in this beautiful part of Devon. We live here permanently and run our own small farm. We have a good local knowledge of the area. So if required, we are happy to give advice on restaurants, beaches and various other activities. "Most of them have been tried & tested by ourselves" Please don't hesitate to ask!

Set in an idyllic "Chocolate Box" location Acorn Cottage is superb.

A great deal of thought has gone into the property and the quality of the finish and workmanship is excellent.

Highly recommended from a Trip Adviser despisor!

Acorn Cottage 03/09 -10/09/2016

  • 5 of 5

The property was ideal for the two of us. Well cared for, with all the facilities we needed. Ideally positioned for exploring by car and on foot. The owners typified the character of the village, very welcoming and very helpful. Delighted to say we had another great week in South Devon.

What a fantastic cottage

  • 5 of 5

We have just come back from spending a wonderful stay at Acorn Cottage. Could not have found a better place to stay and enjoy our first week of marriage. The cottage is spotless and has everything you could possibly want. Such a lovely area to stay and you are so close to so many beautiful places. A great big thank you to Maddy and Godfrey for making our stay so special. I could not recommend this property highly enough.

beautiful cottage

  • 5 of 5

Just spent a week in this stunning cottage. Comfortable, so clean and has everything you need for a great holiday. The pub in the village served really nice food and is a mere stagger from the cottage front door. Would recommend this place to anyone. One of the nicest cottages I have stayed in. Thank you Maddie and Godfrey. You are very lucky to live in such a fab location.

Not only a lovely cottage...

  • 5 of 5

...but also a lovely location. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped, and if there were not the excellent food in the pub, we would have cooked more than once.

Thank you very much, Madeleine and Godfrey, for the warm welcome and the tip about life music at the village pub. What a great experiece to enjoy good food AND good music!

We had some phantastic days exploring a beautiful countryside. We enjoyed our holidays.

Magnificent accomodation in a beautiful village

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful spot...walking distance to the local pub (fantastic food) and local grocery store. My partner and I had an absolutely amazing time exploring Cornwall and Devon and Acorn Cottage was perfect to come home to each night to relax in and enjoy . Thank-you.
