Sant Elm, 2 Bedroom, Beautiful Sea Views 200mts from Beach

Located in a gated private complex, this recently refurbished (October 2013) property has direct access to the sea. It enjoys a spectacular sea view stretching out to the nature reserve island of Dragonera. The beautiful unspoiled village of San Telmo boasting two magnificent sandy and safe beaches is just a 5 minute stroll away. The village has a relaxing atmosphere with several fish and traditional restaurants. There are also a number of small Tapas bars with sea views, shops & 2 small supermarkets for “day to day” provisions.

About Sean Spencer

We have holidayed in Sant Elm for over 20 years. We have extended family who also own apartments within the same community. Our 2 grown up children still visit the village each summer with their partners, whilst our 2 youngest children have everything that they could possibly need & look forward to coming year after year. The Village & Surrounding area has everything required for a relaxing peaceful holiday The scenery and beaches are beautiful and Sant Elmo enjoys some of the best restaurants on the island. The locals are also genuine friendly and helpful people.

We purchased in 2013 after spending many holidays over the last 20 years at Saint Elm. We love the friendly relaxing atmosphere, fantastic beaches, superb restaurants & breathtaking scenery.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is 2 1/2 hours from the UK. It is modern, very comfortable & has all the "mod cons" that we enjoy in the UK. We love the tranquillity of the complex & also its convenience (being only a 5 minute walk from the beaches & town centre).

Great property and resort

Our holiday was a treat for our 16yr old daughter who had just finished her GCSE's. Along with our 19yr old other daughter and a close family friend, we were a party of 5. The accomodation was amply spacious for our needs and along with the outside balcony area we had plenty of room. The apartment was clean, modern and well equipt. Importantly for me (as I have a bad back), the beds were very comfortable. The owner and onsite manager were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The aircon ran out of gas whilst we were there but the manager was quick to book an engineer and in the meanwhile she delivered us a large floor fan. Sant Elm was the perfect location for our break. We wanted somewhere where we could leave the girls to relax, swim, sunbathe, get a drink/icecream in the local bars and feel safe and secure whilst the adults went cycling. We hit the jackpot with Sant Elm. The girls loved it and we enjoyed the change from our usual visit to the east of the island. In the evenings we all got together to enjoy a meal in a local restaurant and catch up on the events of our day. The resort is just the right size to offer enough to do whilst being small enough to remain peaceful and relaxing. I would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation to others.

Spotless apartment in lovely location

This apartment is newly refurbished, and very clean and bright with a lovely view over rooftops to the sea and Dragonera island. The owners Sean and Jayne were great, very helpful in providing information before our stay and they have a local housekeeper who left a good selection of groceries for our arrival. The apartment has a well equipped kitchen area with full sized appliances.

The second bedroom would be small for 2 (pull out second bed), so apartment ideal for couple plus one adult, or plus 2 young children. We didn't need heating or air con at this time of year so can't comment on those. The complex is nicely laid out on different levels, well-maintained and was all very quiet when we were there.

Sant Elm is a small resort, also very quiet in May. It's up a winding hill road from the next village and the road goes no further. Ideal for walking/swimming/relaxing with two safe sandy beaches and a rocky cove where the apartments are, great for swimming and snorkelling. Lots of decent bars and restaurants and a couple of small supermarkets. Bigger shops in Andratx.

There are buses to Port Andratx (then Palma and beyond) about every hour so it would be quite possible to manage here without a car. We found enough walks locally (using bus and car very occasionally) to keep us going for 10 days. There are waymarked walks but it's worth getting a good book of walks before arriving as the waymarks - and the map we had - aren't always clear.

The island Dragonera is a nature reserve, well worth visiting (by a short boat trip several times a day). There are 3 or 4 well waymarked walks on the island and a small visitor centre.

We would definitely go back to this apartment, possibly combining it with a couple of nights in Palma on the way there or back to do some sightseeing.

The Airport at Palma is 30 - 35 minutes by car / taxi. Car hire is recommended as there are several other beautiful small villages to explore on this south west coast, driving through the mountains and stunning countryside. San Telmo is however serviced by a very good bus & taxi service so it is easy to visit the surrounding towns & resorts. There is also a good daily bus service to Palma City which is well worth a visit., with excellent shopping, restaurants & a wonderful Cathedral.

Beach / Village

There are two beautiful sandy beaches in San Telmo, The main beach has sun loungers / parasols & peddelos for hire. It is a 5 minute stroll down the hill from the apartment to the beaches. The swimming areas of the warm clear crystal waters are cordoned off by rope and buoys, making it a very safe environment. The sea is very shallow for approx 40 / 50 metres so it is very safe for families with young children. There are several sea front restaurants and small bars to relax after sunbathing and swimming. There is a ferry from San Telmo to the Port D' Andratx and also one that visits the island nature reserve of Dragonera.

The village has two small “mini markets” where you can but most day to day provisions.

In the late Summer/Autumn, many people visit San Telmo to take walking holidays. One popular walk is La Trappa which is across the cliff tops to a deserted Monastery / Museum. The area is popular for both road and mountain bike enthusiasts. Another very popular activity is Scuba Diving. There is a school in the centre of San Telmo village. There is no through traffic in San Telmo. San Telmo is literally the end of the road.

San Telmo is neighbored by sleepy S’Arraco, & Andraitx. Andraitx holds a market each Wednesday & during the summer months tourists from surrounding resorts arrive. There is also a large Supermarket. The exclusive Port D' Andraitx is well worth a visit, This is an active fishing port with several large fishing boats, which leave early morning, returning to port between 4.30 and 5.00pm with their catch, which can be purchased at the local fish market. Port D’ Andtraitx boasts many first class restaurants & shops. There is also an impressive Marina . Other local resorts include Camp de Mar, Paguera & Portal Nous. All of these have fantastic beaches and a good selection of shops & restaurants.

  • Outside: The apartment has a rear south west facing balcony. The sun hits the terrace from around midday until sunset. There is outside dining furniture, a BBQ & sun loungers allowing for private sunbathing & alfresco dining. There is an awning for those who wish to take a break from the sun. The Private gated complex has well maintained gardens & with direct access to the sea where steps give access to deep swimming which is cordoned off by buoys. The inlet is ideal for snorkelling or you may sunbathe on the flat rocks by the sea. There is also a small pebble beach. The bay of San Telmo has several public moorings that can be booked in advance for those who may wish to hire a boat. The south west coast of Mallorca is stunning with magnificent cliffs, small hidden away bays all the way up to Deya Utility Room: Iron & Ironing Board Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels, & linen included, The apartment is cleaned before arrival and upon departure. Other: French doors open onto rear balcony overlooking the gardens. There are sea views from the terrace stretching out to the Island of Dragonara. The apartment has air conditioning/ heating.
