About the Owner

My wife and I purchased Knollands Farm in 2012. We have one daughter, Alannah (aged 7). This small farm (50 acres) is our family home and we are on hand to help assist our holiday cottage guests with recommendations for inns/restaurants/days out if they desire any guidance.

The cottage has been enjoyed by guests for around 10 years. It was advertised through Hoseasons brochure for many years, however, we decided in 2012 that we could offer our clients better value for money by using owners direct.

Knollands farm Shipsyon on Stour

  • 4 of 5

Very comfortable house and very private. A good base for exploring the area. Ships ton is a little gem town.

The owners were very unobtrusive but helpful if required. Only glitch was the Wifi which was a bit of a problem.

Owner's Response: Pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and exploring the surrounding area. Sorry that the Wifi router expired whilst you were with us. The new one gives improved Wifi service in the cottage that you can enjoy on your next visit.

If you are looking for a quiet place to relax or a place to visit Stow on Wold, Bourton on the Water, Stratford upon Avon and more this is the ideal place. The cottage has everything you need. A comfortable, warm and well-equipped cottage within easy reach of Stratford and several National Trust properties. Good walking in the area. Friendly and welcoming owner. We loved it.

I couldn't recommend highly enough!

  • 5 of 5

This immaculately presented property had everything and more we could have possibly asked for. Thoughtful extras like a bottle of wine and a pint of milk on arrival added the icing on the cake.

Communication with Tom was exceptional, from the point of booking right up to arriving at the property.

The property is warm and very comfortable in such an amazing location with access to so many beautiful villages and towns. My 7 and 11 year old boys were always occupied with watching wildlife on the property or exploring the fields surrounding. Games, books and Wifi is also provided.

There are many great restaurants in Shipston on Stour - we recommend The White Bear, as our favourite. We visited Cotswold Falconry and Cotswold Archery, both nearby, and both exceptional days out.

I recommend this lovely property to anyone wishing to visit the Cotswolds. You will be very happy here.

Thank you Tom for a lovely stay.

perfect location for exploring cotswolds

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at this cottage the first being in October 14 it is a lovely little property in the perfect location to get around and explore the Cotswolds, we received a warm welcome from the owners and a welcome gift of wine and biscuits, the cottage is well equipped and very warm and comfortable, it has a very nice patio which is nice to sit in warmer weather, shipston on Stour is a nice village with local small shops that caters for most things and several pubs to enjoy a nice meal and drink. The pub we visited in the village the horseshoe inn served good food at reasonable prices and also welcomed dogs, it also has good parking .I would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting the Cotswold in fact I booked another week for the spring before we left , this is the perfect property and area to enjoy a quiet relaxing break .

Facilities

From the Owner

The cottage was converted from a agricultural barn in 1995 using reclaimed brick and timber beams. It is well insulated with oil fired central heating so provides a lovely cosy environment to return home to after a day exploring the Cotswolds. The cottage is the only accommodation on the farm other than the farm house so provides guests with a quiet and private space.
