Overview

About the property

Beautiful granite cottage by the sea in central Marazion- <100m to beach

Two-bedroom, traditional 200-year old stone cottage by the sea, on Marazion high street, sleeps 4 (plus cot). Dogs welcome (dog-friendly beach less than 100m), allocated parking (250m), Wi-Fi, telephone for local calls. Small, crows nest patio. Cosy, heated cottage with modern conveniences, within short walking distance to pubs, galleries, shops and just 150m from the causeway to historic St Michael's Mount. All linen and towels provided (pls bring your own beach towels). Washing machine. Cot and high chair.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome but the patio is not suitable for them: it is along a shared passageway and up steep steps and the neighbours are not keen on having dogs there. The dog-friendly beach is down the lane opposite so very handy.

About Peter and Sally Linton

Peter and Sally welcome you to Marazion (not in person, obviously, that might be creepy) and aim to provide you a relaxing, comfortable holiday home. We don't equip the house with cut-glass but there should be everything you need and we and encourage you to treat it as your own home: use everything you find in the cottage, from DVDs and books to beach buckets and don't worry if you break the odd glass.

Peter and Sally Linton purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Peter and Sally Linton chose South West Cornwall

Marazion is a magical place, with historic St Michael's Mount on the doorstep and miles of wonderful beaches. The perfect base to relax or to explore Cornwall

What makes this cottage unique

Just yards from the golden beaches of Marazion (inc the closest, dog-friendly beach). 150m to the causeway to St Michael's Mount. 400m to RSPB Marazion Marsh.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This was our first stay in Chy Lowenna as soon as you enter this lovely house you can see and feel that the owners have taken great care to make it home from home.

---

We were made to feel welcome right from the time of booking and had a welcome note waiting for us when we arrived. Everything was as we wanted and exactly as described and every need had been catered for. A lovely home, close to the village, with all we could want. Thank you

---

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely cosy cottage. There were four of us - all adults - staying in Chy Lowenna, together with our springer spaniel, and whilst the cottage was small downstairs it was very comfortable and we never felt cramped.

The kitchen was fully equipped and everything seemed to have been thought of to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast bar seated the four of us quite comfortably for dinner on the couple of occasions we dined in and the lounge area has two 2 seater sofas.

---

All in all, we would definitely recommend this cosy cottage to small families or 2 couples and Marazion is delightful with a 1 minute walk to the beach from the cottage.

The new owner Peter was extremely helpful both with facilities in the cottage and information on Marazion and his recommendations of the Kings Arms and Bens Cornish Kitchen for dinner were excellent. A must visit is the deli opposite the cottage which offers wonderful food and friendly service.

As dog owners, we were very pleased that the pubs and the deli are dog fiendly.

One note of caution to tall people - beware the low ceilings in the cottage as they caught my hubby out quite a few times - ouch!

Great little cottage, very comfy and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is bright, compact, warm and cosy on a spring evening when it gets a bit cooler. It's surprisingly peacefull to say it's on the main road that goes through Marazion (it is a tiny road). The decor is nice and well kept. We found the bed really comfortable and you even get a glimpse of the sea from the main bedroom!

Delightful cottage, attractive and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Chy Lowenna, and hope to return soon. Everything we needed was provided, including a welcoming cream tea, and a 24/7 free parking pass for a nearby car park. Beautiful bedroom with a very comfortable bed.

The sea, and the beautiful St Michael's Mount are very close by - also a very handy delicious pasty shop! Marazion is a pretty little village with some interesting shops, though as we were there in January, some were closed for the winter. It's a short drive to Penzance for shopping.

Stunningly beautiful part of Cornwall.

Perfect location

  • 4 of 5

Cute little cottage in the centre of Marazion, within walking distance of all the bars and restaurants but far enough away not to be disturbed.

Parking isn't on site but the parking isn't too far away and you feel smug knowing you've got somewhere!

Very welcoming to our dog Stan and a cream tea waiting on arrival was very welcome!

Bath is lovely and big and on demand hot water for the shower.

There is only a small crow's nest patio for al fresco times and this is reached via a shared, communal alley with two resident neighbours on either side and very steep steps so is not really suitable for less able guests or those wanting complete privacy.

Dogs need to be very well behaved as they cannot be left unattended outside and you need to take them out to do their business, you can't just put them out the door! The beach is a short distance away and it was lovely to be able to take early morning strolls whilst admiring St Michaels Mount.

I would highly recommend the cottage and it's a perfect base from which to explore the local area.

Lovely Cottage

  • 4 of 5

Lovely cottage and as described.

Nice and clean with comfortable beds and scones and fresh flowers on arrival. Well equipped kitchen.

Perfect location close to the shops and restaurants in Marazion as well as the beach and St Michaels Mount. All no more than a five minute walk.

Lovely little cottage in a Beautiful village

  • 4 of 5

A lovely little cottage for the two of us with two dogs in a beautiful little village. The cottage would have felt a little crowded had there been more of us as there usually is but it more than served our needs. The village of Marazion is a beautiful place with the King's Arms pub serving amazing food, you should also visit the Fire Engine Inn further up the road. A great Base to visit lots of stunning scenic areas around Cornwall. Will certainly return to the area.

Thank you :-)
