About the Owner

We fell in love with this area of France having spent many years visiting this wonderful country, we think you will too.

We moved to France in 2013 on our early retirement and now it is our home, we welcome you to share some time with us.

The farm was built during the 18th Century. We purchased it in 2005 and was refurbished during the last few years.

The area has pretty much all you could wish for a relaxing holiday.

See you soon

Guestbook comments from the owner

"Thank you both for such a relaxing holiday, an amazing introduction to the Limousin region. A lovely base to stay in, with a superb outlook and so well equipped - you have thought of everything. The attention to detail, together with your warm welcome will ensure your guests will return year after year."

Richard, Susan and Robyn

"Thank you so much for a fabulous stay in your lovely home. You are the perfect hosts and we are sure you will go from strength to strength."

Kate, Dave and family

We would like to thank you both from the bottom of our hearts. You made us feel so welcome from the moment we stepped into your own little heaven. We loved the house, it had everything we needed and more. The beds were lovely and comfy, the only problem we had 'which bedroom is mine'. Cannot wait to book for next year, Lilly is nagging already and thats before we leave.

Karen, Jamie, Ella and Lilly.

Thank you for your superb hospitality, see you soon.

Jenny and Rob.

You have a fabulous home and you made us feel like part of the family, see you very soon.

Dawn and Michael.

Thank you for a fabulous week, loved every minute. We will be back.

Karen, Tony and Logan.

Fantastic gite nestled in an area of beauty

  • 5 of 5

Harry & Eve have developed the property from literally nothing. The gite forms part of the main building, but in effect is entirely separate from other living areas providing private accommodation. The standard of building and decor is excellent, with all rooms tastefully furnished. The gite sleeps 6 in 3 separate bedrooms - comprising a master double with 4 poster bed, a second double and a third twin room. Both doubles lead to balconies overlooking the garden and surrounding countryside. There are 2 bathrooms - a toilet and hand basin together with a main shower room with toilet and hand basin. Again, these rooms are tastefully decorated. On the ground floor there is an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The living room has ample comfortable seating with tv, dvd and both English & French tv available. The dining room has seating for 6 with all crockery and cutlery provided. The kitchen has an all electric oven and hob, microwave and large fridge/freezer providing ample space for provisions which can be purchased from a nearby hypermarket (Super U, Lidl, Aldi & L,Eclerc all available) To the outside, overlooking the garden and surrounding countryside is a large decked area with outside dining facilities and some comfortable chairs/sofa. The courtyard is shared with the owners, but is secure and has ample parking. Our stay was excellent. Both Harry & Eve made us feel very welcome, both were extremely knowledgeable of the local area, including days out. If you are planning a trip to Limoges by train (very scenic route along the river) be sure to check the timetable with Harry as not all trains run every day. His knowledge of SNCF quirks will ensure you don't miss the last train home ! All in all an extremely pleasant stay, made even better by 2 wonderful hosts. We are already planning our trip next year and will be staying here again.

Our trip was with 2 children aged 7 years - they loved the stay and even cried when we had to leave - testimony of how good things were.

Comfortable and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

The property is decorated and equipped to a high standard and is extremely comfortable. Harry and Eve have tried to think of everything you will need and in our case succeeded. The starter pack was lovely and after a tiring journey was just what we needed. The property is in a very peaceful location, the only noise you hear at night is the resident owl. There is a very large garden which is private and has wonderful views over the countryside. Although you feel as if you are in the middle of no-where, St Junien is less than 10 minutes drive away which is really convenient for supermarkets, petrol etc. As someone who always goes self catering, I would highly recommend this property, don't think about it - just book it!

Comfortable, peaceful retreat with friendly owners

  • 5 of 5

The property has been recently renovated and, as such, the interior decor is fresh and clean. Two of the three bedrooms have access out onto the most wonderful spacious balcony which catches the sun all day and has far reaching views across the countryside. The main living space downstairs is very spacious with a compact but adequately equipped kitchenette. In the evenings it was so comforting and atmospheric to get the wood burner lit and crackling away! The friendly owners very kindly stocked the kitchen with basic provisions for our arrival, including homemade bread and jam which was delicious and totally exceeded our expectations in terms of the effort and hospitality shown. The sizeable town of St Junien is not walking distance from the property but is only a short 5-10min drive away, where you can find a range of large supermarkets and other shops/amenities. If we come back to this part of France we would definitely stay here again - highly recommended.

Fantastic French Hideaway

  • 5 of 5

I have never been too interested in writing reviews for where we have stayed before until now.

This was a fantastic family home to stay in. All of the bedrooms were of a large size with plenty of storage. The bathroom was also large enough for our family not to trip up each other, a nice change...

Down stairs was open plan and the log burner was brilliant after our long, winter country walks. Masses of space for us to spread out.

Over all a lovely modern layout with the rustic feel of the original barn.

We look forward to our next visit and hope to come back in the summer.

Thanks for making us feel so welcome.
