Secluded Cottage Walking Distance From Bala High Street, Bala Lake, Golf Course

Overview

Property

Updated: 07-Dec-2016
Cottage in Bala, Snowdonia, North Wales - Idyllic location. Great base for families, walkers cyclists and water sport enthusiasts.

Hysbysfa is a delightful stone-built detached cottage set in an idyllic and secluded location of approximately ½ an acre within walking distance of Bala High Street and leisure centre and of course the beautiful Bala lake. It provides accommodation for up to 6 guests . The converted cow shed or annexe situated in the garden provides accommodation for 2 further guests. Oil fired central heating in the main cottage with a wood burning stove, loads of exposed beams and character and a very well equipped kitchen make this a perfect base for families, walkers, cyclists and water sports enthusiasts as well as for those wanting to enjoy the peace and quiet of the surrounding countryside. Well behaved dogs, welcome.

About the Owner

We are a family from Birmingham. We bought Hysbysfa in 2008 as we loved the surrounding countryside and wanted a breath of fresh air every few weeks. Our 2 young daughters have loved staying there as they have far more freedom to have adventures than they do in the big City! We hope you enjoy it as much as they do.

One of the Best Cottages we have stayed in

  • 5 of 5

We recently had a boys away fishing weekend at Bala Lake where we chose to stay for the first time in Hysbysfa Bala Proprietor Jane Jones.

We found the accommodation in a word Fabulous.

Very well fitted out .

We have as a group of Mature Guys have being going away on fishing trips in summer and autumn for 25 years. And we all agreed we will definitley be going back to this delightful ,peaceful cottage, a real credit to the owner.

Owner's Response: Hysbysfa is in a lovely spot. Perfect for a relaxing stay and an opportunity to "get away from it all" . We try our best to make all our guests as comfortable as we can and leave wanting to come again!

Brilliant rural retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time. The teenagers loved the annexe as a hang out for late night DVD watching. The beds were comfortable, hot water plentiful and the décor is attractive. The area itself offers lots in the way of activities such as white water rafting, gorge walking, climbing, abseiling and kayak hire 5 minutes away. A 40 minute drive delivers zip wires (both above ground and underneath). It is also about 1hour 15 minutes from Harlech castle and beach. Bodnant gardens which are stunning are about 1 hour 30 minutes away. The cottage is very dog friendly with a secure garden. North Wales is more beautiful than I remembered and we would definitely go again.

Fantastic!!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my husband, parents and our 4 legged friends. The cottage is in a beautiful secluded spot and is within easy walking distance of the town and lake.

The cottage itself is 3 bedroom with a 1 bedroom annex and has plenty of space overall for 8 people. The kitchen is brilliantly equipped (cooked Sunday lunch with no problem) and even has a dish washer so complete relaxation is achieved! The garden is fab for the dogs and is very secure, we didn't have great weather but I can imagine how lovely it would be to have a bbq etc.

Finally, the owner is very helpful and sent us an email with directions and a list of suggested walks, and left us a lovely welcome pack. We will definitely be returning and will be booking soon!!

Lovely cottage

  • 4 of 5

Really nice cottage in a picturesque location. Owners were super helpful and offered lots of tailored information for our stay. Probably a little snug for eight adults with respect to living areas (unless you split into the annexe), but really nicely finished and well layed out otherwise. The whole setup is pretty dog friendly, even in poor weather. Whilst it is technically walking distance into town, the road is VERY steep and narrow so not really ideal for a stroll.

My friends and I all really liked the place and we very well may return, which is not usually something we consider.
