Cottage in Bala, Snowdonia, North Wales - Idyllic location. Great base for families, walkers cyclists and water sport enthusiasts.

Hysbysfa is a delightful stone-built detached cottage set in an idyllic and secluded location of approximately ½ an acre within walking distance of Bala High Street and leisure centre and of course the beautiful Bala lake. It provides accommodation for up to 6 guests . The converted cow shed or annexe situated in the garden provides accommodation for 2 further guests. Oil fired central heating in the main cottage with a wood burning stove, loads of exposed beams and character and a very well equipped kitchen make this a perfect base for families, walkers, cyclists and water sports enthusiasts as well as for those wanting to enjoy the peace and quiet of the surrounding countryside. Well behaved dogs, welcome.

About Jane Jones

We are a family from Birmingham. We bought Hysbysfa in 2008 as we loved the surrounding countryside and wanted a breath of fresh air every few weeks. Our 2 young daughters have loved staying there as they have far more freedom to have adventures than they do in the big City! We hope you enjoy it as much as they do.

Jane Jones purchased this cottage in 2008

Party of 2 aults and 4 teenagers. The cow shed was ideal! The cottage was in a stunning location with easy access to Bala and the lake. Very homely overall and a well equipped kitchen. The garden was great for the dog as it was escape proof! Would highly reccommend it.

Beautiful welcoming home which the whole family settled into quickly and felt very relaxed.

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed a quiet family holiday where we were all catered for. Annexe provided a retreat from the chaotic teenagers and we enjoyed preparing meals together and eating together around the large dining table. It was a cosy place to stay and for the cold evenings the men enjoyed chopping wood for the fire.

Owner sent through lots of friendly advice about the area and we enjoyed beautiful meals in the town of Bala also. Lots to do in surrounding area for the kids, Zip world, Surf snowdonia and water sports on Bala lake a must. Took the bikes and we all enjoyed bombing about the country side on these too. 10/10 holiday, thank you.

Great little cottage for family get together

  • 5 of 5

Cottage very cosy and clean and with all mod cons. Good sized dining table for family meals. Annexe came in handy as there were 7 adults staying. Garden big enough for bat and ball games and barbecue! Great location with lovely views 'away from it all' but short drive from all the amenities of Bala.
