Beachside View is a unique gem in a perfect, quiet and breathtaking waterside location yet with easy access to so many things, there is something to do for all ages. Stunning views that change with the tide and a south facing garden with direct access to a traditional English sandy estuary beach. With Fisral surf beach only 200m from the front of the house you may not use your car all holiday! Build sandcastles, play in pools, play cricket on the vast expanse of sand or walk across to Crantock, a National Trust Beach, voted by BBC's Coast as Best British Beach 2013. Maybe hire a guide and kayak there instead! If you want one of the UK's best surfing beaches walk 200 metres and you will be at the south (quieter) end of Fistral Beach, complete with surf kit hire, surf schools and cafes.

The contemporary house has a real 'wow' as you walk in and immediately catch glimpses of the turquoise water beyond. A 43'x18 living space with beautiful oak floor faces south and is flooded with light. Every comfort and convenience has been considered and both the well equipped modern kitchen and 5 en-suite bathrooms are a pleasure to use. Beds are sumptuous, bedlinen beautiful and towels soft. With Vispring and top end John Lewis mattresses, your back will enjoy the holiday too.

Take in the wonderful view, surf and bodyboard, go on coastal walks from the door, visit Cornwall's gardens in Spring, Christmas Markets in Fowey, Truro and Padstow in Winter or just laze on the beach in an English Summer. This is a very special holiday house for family or larger group holidays in a quiet and sought after area. However, the option of Newquay's facilities of cinema, indoor tennis, boating lake, aquarium and zoo are only a couple of miles away should you want them.

The house has a very large raised terrace for al fresco dining adjacent to the present first floor balcony with a stunning view of the water. Underneath, there is a large 5th ensuite bedroom with superking size bed, seating area and large windows towards the water (see main photo). The ensuite has a double size shower with a rain drench head and rising shower head. In addition there is a games room with darts, air hockey or small pool table, TV and PS3. These 2 rooms are accessed via the outside balcony steps offering one couple more seclusion and parents some quiet from their children in the games room!

There is a further large terrace with sofa style seating further down the garden, ensuring there are several separate places to sit and read or admire the view if you like your own space for a while.

About Catherine Foster

We are a family of 5 with 3 teenage children, a dog and a large extended family with young nieces and nephews. We therefore wanted to find a house in an area where there was something to do for all ages and it took a couple of years looking and many rejections before we bought Beachside View.

We are busy professionals and our holiday time is so precious that we want to stay somewhere with exacting standards and attention to detail so Beachside View is finished to that standard. We love being able to walk everywhere (beaches, surfing, restaurants, to buy lobsters or ice creams....) and not sit in queues for beach carparks etc. We take the responsibility very seriously that you have chosen to use our house for your much planned holiday and ensure you will not be disappointed.

Why Catherine Foster chose Newquay & St Austell area

The ever changing, unobstructed view of the beach from the garden patio and sitting room sold this house to us! It is something of which we will never tire and when we are older and less active, will just sit and look at it.

The house isn't bad either!

To have a sandy beach at the bottom of the garden and surfing at Fistral 200M from the front door, is to us, the ultimate British beach holiday. We knew of Newquay and Perranporth before looking at the house but not Pentire. Thank goodness we found it !

Pentire is a hidden gem and the area offers something to do for every member of our family whatever the weather. Nobody is ever bored.

Newquay is a mile away if we want it for surf shops, supermarket, the cinema or station but we can spend a week at the house without going in to it

What makes this house unique

We love being able to do so many diverse things without having to get in the car. This means our children can go off independently rather than always needing a lift! Having the water at the bottom of the garden (but the garden is totally fenced) is great and because it is effectively a tidal inlet, although called The River Gannel, there are not dangerous waves raging there! Meanwhile we can walk 2 minutes to Fistral which removes the hassle of trying to find a parking space. its quicker to go and look at the surf than dial up the web camera.

2 or 3 families staying together can easily do their own thing for a while then meet up for tea or lunch.

We love arriving and stretching our legs with a walk round the beautiful Pentire headland to the contemporary Lewinnick bar and restaurant. Then, claiming I haven't had time to shop, go the next day for breakfast in one of 3 cafes within walking distance of the house, each with different fabulous beach views.

Evenings are spent with a glass of wine on the patio watching the sunset over the water.

Notes on accommodation: The owners have experience in providing 5 star holiday accommodation and the standard of this property and tasteful decoration reflects this. It is of the level one would aspire to live in rather than that normally found in a holiday rental property. There is individual furniture, art, photography and objets d'art by Cornish and other British designers yet it is a practical beach-side house which welcomes children - they even have their own games room. Beds are superb in quality as a good night's sleep is paramount to a successful holiday. We aim to envisage every type of guest who may stay and work out what they need. This could mean a really well equipped kitchen for budding Rick Steins or games and fun duvet covers for children. Outside: Garden with table and chairs for eating al fresco with the fabulous beach view as a back drop. Fantastic location for a lunchtime or evening barbecue as the garden faces south and also gets the setting sun from the west, well into the evening. Steps from bottom of garden directly to sandy tidal river beach, ideal for sandcastles, paddling in small pools or cricket and football when the tide is out. A balcony with river and sea views opens out from the living area at first floor level. Surf store and outside shower. Simply Stunning !

Just returned after spending 4 days with family & friends helping celebrate my wife's 50th birthday.

Everything about the house is fantastic, from speaking directly to the owner about our booking, to Gemma the housekeeper with her local knowledge about where best to buy a birthday cake !

The house is huge & really well laid out with lovely furniture & fittings.

I would highly recommend the house to anyone, even in March !

We're already discussing about when to return next year !!

I struggle to give this property the praise it deserves. It ticked all the boxes and more. From our 19 year old and others who were able to walk to Fistral Beach and surf to us being able to wander down the steps to our own almost private beach. Local shops and restaurants within walking distance. A well equipped very very comfortable house. We were 10 people staying and all had space to be ourselves when the need was there. I would recommend and would love to return

Perfection in all areas

We lived in Newquay for 10 years and so when we decided to return for a holiday we already knew where the perfect location would be. How amazing was it to find the perfect house in that location. Beachside View is a beautiful house which caters for all your needs. Its a tonic to the eyes both internally and externally. We were 6 adults and 4 children under the age of 4 years. The house provided luxury accommodation for us all and plenty of entertainment for the children. Booking of the house was easy and conducted in a friendly and supportive manner. We also appreciated the support we received from Gemma, the housekeeper, in organising our pre- delivered grocery order and the help she gave us when we had problems with our airport transfer. We did think this visit to Newquay would be a one off but after staying at Beachside View we know we will definitely return to the house again.

Wonderful house, stunning setting.

Just a note to say thank you for letting us your most beautiful house. We all fell in love with it and the area. Everything surpassed our expectations and your attention to detail is impressive and generous. We had such a lovely time together, it was a huge success, and we really did not want to leave, and not only because the weather improved so dramatically!

A gem !

I feel reluctant to write a review because I want to keep this gem of a house all to myself. The house is everything you could wish for and more besides, certainly home from home. We were a family of 10 spanning 4 generations but there was space for everyone. The ground floor bedroom was ideal for my not so mobile mother. The games room a perfect bolt hole for my teenage son and the children's high chair was a added bonus for my small grandchild. The house lacks nothing. Superbly clean, well maintained and furnished.

WOW

WOW!! A stunning property in a stunning location.

This home is beautifully fitted out with interesting furniture and art and extremely comfortable too!

Well thought out accommodation, with thoughtful little extra's in every room.

The kitchen was very well equipped and we received a lovely welcome pack on arrival including champagne. Plus tea, coffee, milk, herbs etc were all provided.

The location is perfect, with the most stunning views that you would never tire of as they were ever changing.

Dogs welcome and very well provided for, great walks on the beach Christmas Day was perfect

Three generations of family and found that the house and location kept everybody very happy and if there was anyone with mobility issues they would have level access to the kitchen, lounge, balcony and 1st floor bedroom.

Lovely walks from the doorstep, Fistral surfing beach just a short stroll away, beach at the bottom of the garden, restaurants in walking distance and shopping in Newquay just a few minutes by car.

We regularly holiday in the UK and we would definitely recommend this property. WE will be back.... Thank you for making our Christmas perfect in very way

Plenty of walking from the doorstep. Seasoned walkers can join the SW Coastal Path and head down to National Trust West Pentire headland which is a site of special scientific interest noted for it's wild flowers and rare plants, featured for walking in The Saturday Telegraph in 2013.

Casual walkers have plenty of half to 4 mile strolls with the lure of a Cornish ice cream, cafe, pub or just a good view!

Booking Notes: FOR SHORT BREAKS OFF SEASON please see the 'Special offers' section and click on the blue underlined text. The Owners Direct site does not have the facility for detailed quotes and the auto-calculation can be incorrect.
Reduced occupancy reductions are only made between October and April. The house living areas and fixed costs are very large so please understand that reductions cannot be made proportional to the reduced number of guests. Please be aware that a stay for 2 nights cannot be proportional to a one week stay as the house is cleaned completely whether guests stay for one or seven nights.
Dates are reserved for 3 days to enable transfer of 20% deposit (£400 min) and completed booking form. The balance is due 8 weeks before arrival date
Dogs £45/week each, max 2 dogs by prior arrangement and there are doggy rules to preserve the house!
Damage deposit £600 for more than 6 guests, and guests with dogs. £400 for 6 or less guests.
Directions and key details are only released on receipt of the damage deposit due a week before arrival.
Changeover is generally a Saturday except around Bank Holidays or short breaks (not available in July/August or main school holidays).
Arrival is after 4pm and check out by 10am. For short breaks, booking an extra night does mean you can use the house all day on the day of arrival or departure, even if you do not stay that night. A low season short break from a Thursday arriving after 6pm until Monday at 10am does not usually cost much more than Friday 4pm - Sunday 10am. However, it's much more relaxing to have 3 full days at the house and be able to drive at quieter times or arrive on an early morning flight and have breakfast with the lovely view!
