Finca ‘Casalejo’ is on a 7,600 m2 plot of land next to the edge of the Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama nature reserve. There are only 5 other houses in the area, so you can fully enjoy the peace and tranquillity. There is a generous living room with double doors, opening onto a large covered terrace which offers a view over Lake Viñuela. A high, beamed ceiling gives the space a light, open feel. The kitchen is finished in traditional style and offers all mod cons, with a 90cm gas oven and hob, double sinks and built-in dishwasher. The adjacent dining room gives direct access to the covered terrace, making dining outdoors simplicity itself. The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, one separate and one en-suite with bedroom 3.

Beautiful holiday retreat with stunning view

What a great place to stay, there are several terraces around the house where you have surrounding views, they are amazing. The finca itself is nicely and tastefully decorated and fully equipped. The owner was easy to comminicate with, also the care taker was very helpfull.

The way up to the house is, like other reviews, a bit of a challenge but after a while you get used to it.

I would surely recommend this place!

What a view

We had a wonderful stay! The first drive up the mountain with our small engine rental car was quite interesting, but it was worth it. The house offers a fantastic view. Both the interior and facilities match the description. The caretaker of the property gave us a good tour and helped us with any other questions during the week. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitelly recommend this house to others.

Beautiful finca wirh stunning view

This house is a real gem. Nicely decorated (the owner has a very good taste, stunning view over Lake Vinuela and a very Nice pool. Fully equiped with everything you could ask for (Washing machine, dryer, dish washer etc).

The drive to the house is a bit bumpy, dirtbroad and steep) however you get used to it quickly.

Very nice villa with superb views!

Very nice typical villa, in traditional style. Romantic decoration combined with modern bathrooms (2). Every utensil is there (even a salad spinner, hand blender, extra big stove, washer en dryer,...)

Nice outdoor terrace (pergola with bunch of grapes) and extra panoramic seating area with superb views. Private outdoor swimmingpool with deckchairs, no neighbours so very quiet and relaxing. With a rental we did a couple of sightseeings, Malaga, Granada, Mijas and Ronda being our favourites...

Paradise

Casalejo, what a heavenly place to be. Really comfortable finca, superb views. Approach: It is no a motorway of course, but certainly to be done by normal car (10 mins): Award: Paradise.

“Slice of Paradise”

Wow! from the start of my Casalejo experience to the end top marks! Johan the owner is extremely helpful, answered all my question and offered a fab service. Housekeeping couple Jannie & Henk who do not live onsite - what nice people! escorted us to the house and made us feel welcome, comfortable and explained all the houses features / rules and were helpful with local advice - thank you to you both. Casalejo what can I say I fell in love with you! once you get past the journey up the hill (steep & windy road not for the faint hearted!) you are rewarded with magnificent views of the lake and surrounding mountains - sunrises & sets to die for! Tranquil and relaxing yet near enough to civilisation if you need or want it. You can walk in the hills along the National Park walks if you are fit enough (we left a book for others to enjoy) or do aqua aerobics in the pool with the help of wifi and You Tube, do as little or as much as you want to. I could go on and on about how wonder this place is but please find out for yourself. Casalejo I miss you thank you for a fab holiday - until next time! Thanks Johnan and Leen, you have found yourself a gem!

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The house has a typical Spanish atmosphere with its terracotta floor, high wooden beamed ceilings and windows with interior wooden shutters. The house has an Internet connection and a satellite dish. The whole house has climate control (OR air conditioning) for the hot summer season, and underfloor heating has been installed in the living room, kitchen and bathroom for chillier winter evenings. The living room also has a wood-burning stove. Outside: The 54m2 covered terrace runs the entire length of the house and is a wonderful place to relax in the shade and enjoy the surrounding landscape, the garden and, of course, Lake Viñuela. On one side of the house is an 8.5m x 4.5m swimming pool with Roman steps, two terraces and a beautifully landscaped garden full of trees and plants. On the other side of the house is another terrace where you can dine at an outdoor table amidst plants, flowers and even some fruit trees. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are provided and are changed every weekend. The property is cleaned every Saturday.
